Alabas contribution to the development of Davies has been incredible. He literally coached him through games when Davies first broke into the team, you could see almost every stoppage in play Alaba was talking Davies through positions to be etc.
I think he will be a huge loss to Bayern, off the pitch possibly even more than on it.
Always hoped we'd get him so that's disappointing. The Crewe left back Pickering has been better than Ng this year though. Hopefully we take a look at him in the summer.
Good move in my opinion. It's always pleasantly surprising to see a reasonably aspirational Championship side adopt the policy of bringing in players who are young and performing well in L1/L2. It sounds blindingly obvious but so few do it well.

And also highlights that many of our rivals in L1 will be losing players to higher clubs in the window
Seen a few players come from Germany score lots over there and struggle over here Haller being the latest, not going to include Werner because I think he will come good.
Mateta hsnt got the same goalscoring record as Haller only 10 league goals in the last 2 seasons a conbined 33 games although did score 14 in his first season with Mainz, but think he will be another who struggles to adapt to the Premier League
Has he been dropped by Brighton recently? Always thought he was a good keeper.
I agree, odd Brighton stopped using him and dont really rate their new keeper maybe he has had a fall out? Decent back up imo if its with a view to buy in the summer too not a bad bit of business.
I notice they also have practically signed Odegard on loan from Real Madrid, similar to Smith-Rowe, bit of a shame when he has been their best player with Saka recent games but suppose they might rotate or play the person in best form? good signing still.

Makes a change to see Bayern on the wrong end of a top level free transfer.

Because unless Ramos leaves they surely won't break up his partnership with Varane.

I've never understood why the selling club would allow such long loan deals

his contract runs out at the end of the season. though i doubt they will get much for him if they did sell him before then.
Has been a rumour of ours a few times
