Probably for the best. We've never played in a way that suits him and that doesn't look like changing. He gets a move where he can play and we free up a bit of cashBelv said:At risk of being added to “the list” I’ve been told that Oztumer could be joining another L1 club tomorrow. If true, I wonder if we’ll be looking to bring someone else in in that position.

Watching Williams play for Wales tonight,if he had the same license to get in the box with us as he does with wales he could easily get a few goals, hope LB was watching tonight.6
-
Can see the logic moving Ozzy on, I like him but unless he gets given a free role, we won’t see the best of him. Plus if Bostock comes in then that’s a decent replacement at this level.8
-
Wonder whether Bow's been on the blower to Thomas tonight ....
" Scratch that search for another striker. Jonny's our boyo".

Plymouth is my guess and that’s what it is, a guess. I have a 1 in 23 chance of being correct1
-
I thought Oz may head to Posh as part of an Eisa deal but that’s just wishful thinking😂4
-
I wouldn't give Oztumer to someone around us as I think he can be very good at this level. But it hasn't worked for him here and if it opens up space for someone else it makes sense.10
-
I wonder if it’s feasible to get Charlie Kirk from Crewe? Really good player and they must be one of the clubs in real need of a financial boost1
-
As at 5pm today he didn't know where he was going. Even if he has since signed for Lincoln Nixon was, then, making it up.Oh Eddie Youds... said:Gotts at Leeds is going to Lincoln.....according to Nixon.

Wouldnt put it past this lot nowmart77 said:I thought Oz may head to Posh as part of an Eisa deal but that’s just wishful thinking😂
Feels emotional in a way supporting a club again that appear to be making the right noises and are moving in the right direction.
Even having a genuine owner like Sandgaard adding comments when we've signed someone or ringing players like Bogle is just a breath of fresh air... Part of me is still wary but its getting harder
Cant wait for Friday in a way as feels genuine14 -

Would be a shame to see Oztumer go, because his record at this level is very good and could do well this season.
Unfortunately, it hasn’t really worked here but he’s never had a run of games, something he didn’t manage at Bolton either.
With the players we have in a similar position and another striker coming in, it would probably be difficult for him to get that run of games for him to impact the team and score goals etc.
I think if he’s off, wherever he goes, as long as he plays regularly he will do well and score goals. Meaning lots of people on here will say why didn’t we keep him.
I personally would keep him, in a long season I think he could play a part in some success at this level.
Going to be an interesting couple of days, that’s for sure.21 -
Maybe, but they have Ben ReevesTodds_right_hook said:Plymouth is my guess and that’s what it is, a guess. I have a 1 in 23 chance of being correct
I wonder whether we may have a swap lined up with a different club to Plymouth2 -
Also doesn’t matter what proposal anyone makes for Leeds, because it’s Bielsa who decides exactly where a player is going out on loan, all the way down into their under age groups.Cafc43v3r said:

He'd insist on being Captain thoughElliotCAFC said:I wonder if it’s feasible to get Charlie Kirk from Crewe? Really good player and they must be one of the clubs in real need of a financial boost26 -

A bit of a klingon I heard, shows a bit of enterprise though. Makes some deep space for the 9, mind. Could he be one for the voyager back to the championship? I am 7 of 9 and half a dozen of the other......killerandflash said:

Cawley seemed to suggest earlier that Woodburn wont be signing and that Nixon was wide of the mark mentioning him and Abrahamcazo said:1 -
I think it’s mad when clubs send out teenagers to clubs miles from home. Much easier for both club and player if the two clubs are relatively local.6

Surely he couldn’t have a contract. If he did, they can’t just terminate it. They have to pay him off, in full, and that will count against the cap.Leeds_Addick said:
The Peterborough manager told the club website: "With the new salary cap regulations, we just couldn’t find a way of fitting George into it."soapboxsam said:George Boyd having his contract cancelled because of the wages cap.
The 35 year old ex Charlton youth player and Chatham born, is leaving the Posh.
The new normal is kicking in quickly now.
Bit of a weird thing to say imo when the Peterborough owner was one of the people to vote for the cap0 -
Says online that his contract was cancelled by mutual consent, does that imply that his contract wasn't paid up in full?SomervilleAddick said:

As it stands they're all around us as we have no idea how this season is going to work out. He won't drop to league 2 and won't be wanted in the Championship. Personally think we're best off keeping him.Laddick01 said:I wouldn't give Oztumer to someone around us as I think he can be very good at this level. Bowyer will wait to get the best he can. The only time he has settled for “scraping the barrel” was signing Josh Parker and evening he wasn’t as bad as some would have you believe.charltonbob said:
Said this the other day, come the close of the window there could be a lot of players out of contract that we couldn't afford to pay their demands but all of a sudden 100k a year might be preferable to fuck all. Problem is do we scrape the barrel just to get numbers in or wait & hope to pick some up who's out of contract.Garrymanilow said:
Just depends on the player really and what they want to achieve. We're definitely not paying Williams what he was on at Palace (£20,000 pw), or Amos what he was on at Bolton (£16,000 pw). Even Pratley was on £14,000 pw at Bolton. Sure they signed before the cap, but Chris Gunter was on £20,000 pw at Reading and you can bet he's not on that now. If a player wants to make a fresh start and prove himself then he'll take a decent pay cut if that's what he wants to do. The fact he's cancelled his contract with Everton implies he wants to play somewhere. I don't know if he's fit to play or if we'd be interested in him, or if he just wants to sit on a pile of money like a dragon, but just ruling players out because they earned more money off their last contract isn't wise. The only way we're getting anywhere with this cap is uncovering players at a lower level on lower wages than what we can offer, or finding players who played at a higher level and have foundered or reached an age where they need to take a cut to keep playing. If was still championship possibly yes. But A lot of people seem to keep forgetting about this cap or are being completely unrealistic. The guy would fit with Charlton as he has basically been injured almost 90% of his time out on loan which is why he was sent back one year yes one year early. He also was on 17,500 a week so don’t think he would sign for 2k a week somehow to a league one club. We need to focus on a striker in league 2 on bottom end of league one who may sell to us and be able to not have issues with salary cap. Or a loan for an unproven but talented prem 2 striker would be a much more realistic option.Garrymanilow said:Everton have just released Shani Tarashaj. Strange one that. Was thought to be a real prospect four years ago and then seems to have played progressively fewer games since then, culminating in not playing a single game on loan at an Eredivisie club who cut it short. I wonder if we would have a look at him, no idea if he's completely gone to pieces or just needs a fresh start. Striker/winger0 -

Bowyer said when Oztumer signed last year, it would give scope for Oz and Williams to be interchangeable without disrupting the gameplan.randy andy said:
Makes a certain amount of sense, never understood having both Williams and Oztumer in the squad and not starting either regularly.Belv said:At risk of being added to “the list” I’ve been told that Oztumer could be joining another L1 club tomorrow. If true, I wonder if we’ll be looking to bring someone else in in that position.
With Williams being fragile, I believe Bow had visions that he could play him for an hour and than replace him with Ozzy, and vice-versa - especially playing Sat-midweek-Sat.
That was before Williams got a bad injury, followed by Oztumer a few weeks later.
Nowadays neither starts. Or look likely too.

Oh all makes sense now... I spoke to my Dad earlier today who is a Leeds fan, he said the same thing and I said I saw that somewhere recently too but couldn’t work it out. And it was you! ThanksCafc43v3r said:

Oztumer is not a front 3 player though.DamoNorthStand said:
I’m not sure if I like that - Oztumer is proven in more than one season scoring 10-15 goals for a very poor league one side at this level.mart77 said:

playing in a front three he will score goals
He's more effective as a '10' or central attacking midfielder ........ Walsall gave him a fairly free role as CAM, and he repaid it with all those goals.

Not suggesting LB & SG would settle for scraping the barrel just that the better players are probably holding out for better money than we can pay them & if they have to settle for that when the window closes then they haven't lost anything.Exiled_Addick said:
