Scott Hogan going to Birmingham on loan if it hasn’t been mentioned already.
Someone claimed his mate who works at Charlton reserved an evening slot for a medical for him weeks ago 😂
That is a decent signing for them.
    Definitely.

I’ll only get pelters for being negative again, but Rhodes to Wigan and Hogan to Birmingham, why aren’t we in for them!
Hopefully because they aren't what Bow and Gallen think we need.

Rhodes would, probably, blow our wage structure apart with no long term benifit.
  • Liverpool purloined Joe Gomez off Charlton for 3.5 million. Out of gratitude we should be first on the list for Chirivella to the end of the season. The lad will be in the shop window and then he can move to a club who pay the going rate.

What is the going rate and how do you know we don’t pay it?
  • On Chirivella, he was class in the first half of the Shrewsbury game, but he clearly tired in the second half, suggesting that he needs some proper game time to get his fitness up.

Liverpool clearly don't give two hoots about the FA Cup, so if they won't loan him to us because he's got a replay against Shrewsbury, that's ridiculous.
    Or a convenient excuse

Said that the moment the game ended in a draw on Sunday
  • I hold out in hope that Bowyer ONLY signed his new deal as he knows what ESI have planned for the short, medium and long term of this club.....

I said as the Window opened, and we replaced Leko with Green that we would learn as much about ESI's budget and Philosophy by who we don't sign. After 28 days, the silence is telling.
The grains of United Arab Emirates sand are slipping through the egg timer and I'm more concerned that we aren't paying the going rate to ensure Lyle Taylor stays at Charlton for two more seasons.
We have Lyle Taylor and Bonne as our strikers, so add young 18 year old Idah(loan) and with Davidson and even Hemed then we have enough up front.
Rhodes on 30k, is so removed from the "model" that it not worthy of consideration.

Ps. I don't know the going rate but Lyle's agent does and so will Lee Bowyer who is desperate to keep the Talismanic Taylor.

I'm glad you've finally come around to a more realistic way of thinking mate

Not much of a hope to hold on to by the way, LB signed a few under Dutchatelet

No.  I stand by the fact they're not going to go crazy in January but we WILL see real movement in the Summer.  You do NOT spend £50m to tread water.

    Honestly you don't.

    You're funny!

We've been told who we're modelling ourselves on (Burnley, Brighton, etc. Not Derby or Villa) but carry on...

Brighton paid HOW much for Dale Stephens?... and how long ago?

If we're "only" spending £3m+ on each player I'll be gutted.....

  • Why people believe anything they see on twitter is beyond me. It was already mentioned last time this rumour resurfaced that Cullen cannot be recalled now.
All right. Calm down. Posting what I saw on Twitter.

All I would say is we (Gallen and Bowyer included) didn’t think Gallagher was going.
And I’m not sure Ann Summers owning David Gold is the finest authority on the intricacies of the Cullen deal.

Can you answer your own question with a link for proof please? How much did Brighton pay for Stephens.

Only place I can find any sort of fee is TransferMarkt; £750k is whats mentioned on there

I'd have guessed at anything from £500k to £1m max that Brighton would have paid for him
  • So Man Utd and Spurs both want to try and sign Islam Slimani from Leicester

Bloke has eight goals in 39-games here in England

If anyone wants further proof that the January Transfer Window is the biggest waste of time, there you go!!
  • Right. Just a bit short of 3 million. :/
  • If we start spending £3m+ on each player in the summer then we need to brace ourselves for a points deduction!!

Huh? I was not in an 'uncalm' state when I posted that. Was mearly pointing out that whatever you read on there should be taken with a rather large pinch of salt.

750k is his market value at the time, could be very different to what Brighton paid
