They need a people's vote because there will be a backlash otherwise.
Peoples vote:
No Deal - backlash This deal - backlash No Brexit - backlash
We are a divided country.
Or “People’s Votes” on Independence for Scotland and unification/independence in NI, both countries vote for it and rejoin the EU. England and Wales leave the EU without a deal and everyone’s happy?
To avoid the fallacious argument that another referendum would be undemocratic, the simple choice on another referendum could be:
Accept this deal.
Reject this deal and renegotiate.
The latter would need the EU to agree an extention of Article 50.
No options of No deal or cancelling Brexit.
Trouble is, Remainers will do their utmost to turn any second referendum in to a Brexit cancellation vote. They're already playing their semantic games by calling it a "People's Vote" as if that somehow makes it more valid and popular, coz the 'people' (whoever they are) want it.
No deal: That's what we will have - we can't stop 'idiots' voting - not my words, but what people will say and we are a democracy This deal: That will happen and May will be vindicated No brexit: Brexiters may say we were always going to have another vote until we voted to remain, but they can't argue it was the will of the people.
We may be divided, but any of the three will end something that has been dividing us since the initial vote! In the short to medium term at least.

Forget about other parties, She needed enough of her party and the DUP to get behind it and it is clear today that won't happen. She may get a few stray Labour MPs, but the numbers are not going to work for her.

Serious food for thought!
i want to buy my own house, millions died for my right to own property, why can't the rest of the country just get behind me and get me a house and get out of the terrible rental market that's costing me money for no return?
James O'brien is especially powerful listening this morning on LBC
If more people listened this nation would be a much nicer more informed country.
I listen to him every day. His smugness and condescending attitude towards people make me ashamed to hold the same point of view as him in the referendum.
At least Nigel Farage doesnt belittle people on his show. Even if I disagree with everything he says, he lets people with opinions like mine be heard rather than talking over them and making them out to be stupid constantly.

Serious food for thought!
Serious food for thought? Bollox.
Millions of men from many nations fought and won against tyranny and facism. The founding fathers of the EU had as one of their overiding ambitions to avoid a repeat of that, and for 73 years Europe, certainly western Europe, has been at peace.

I reckon the motivations of the men that fought and died in WW1 & WW2 had nothing to do with the EU, either way, and anyone from either side invoking their memory to support their perspective does so in poor taste.

Agree, but the abject horror of two world wars in Europe and the will to ensure that it could never happen again was part of the motivation for the fledgling cooperation of European nations.

Except in 1982. The Falklands conflict was the only deployment of exclusively EU millitary. The French assisted the Argentines and 100sof British soldiers died as a result. The Irish maintained trading relations with the enemy.

JUST GET ON WITH IT and get me a house.
Yes or no we voted yes - now the government must see it through
I would like to see a vote on the 3 options but don’t have any faith in it being followed through

Although I hope we get another referendum and stay in.
