  • I think the vote will be close.

Will Corbyn three line whip his MPs as he's done before and will many vote with May regardless or abstain.

Will may do a deal with the SNP and PC?

Daily Mail and Express both backing the deal.

How many Tories want another election?

Uncle Rup’s finest still stirring up the masses though, along with the Daily Borisgraph.
  • Could the lesser Johnson brother have a shot at leadership...?

You know it’ll be the other one, that’s blatantly how this all plays out. Remember when we thought we were getting David Milliband...

Anyone know which of the six Labour tests this agreement fails?

Does it ensure a strong and collaborative future relationship with the EU?
Does it deliver the “exact same benefits” as we currently have as members of the Single Market and Customs Union?
Does it ensure the fair management of migration in the interests of the economy and communities?
Does it defend rights and protections and prevent a race to the bottom?
Does it protect national security and our capacity to tackle cross-border crime?
Does it deliver for all regions and nations of the UK?

    All six arguably

  • I think it is better that the Brexiters scupper the deal as they seem to be doing.
  • Greenie said:

May the Incompetent will go, there will be a general election and Corbyn will get in and sort out this shit cart of a country that the Tories have created in the last 8 years.

I can’t imagine a single Tory or DUP MP voting for an early election.
  • Anyone care to explain why they voted for this shower of shit (to differentiate them, I mean the Tories). Corbyn being shite is suddenly a less than convincing reasons.

    Don’t think so.
  • What will happen:

May will resign, or be removed via leadership challenge. New prime minister will ask for more time to leave the EU to renegotiate. Another general election will then be called, the tories will win a shock majority with their new leader that’s spouted a bunch of lies, Corbyn resigns as leader of labour, new prime minister realises may’s deal was indeed the best deal we could have gotten. Another leadership challenge, a new PM, another general election and then labour win a slim majority. Then possible people’s vote. This all happening in the next 3 years.

    You heard it here first.

I think we have to have another referendum vote now. All politicians need to be given a clear direction. They can't get there on their own as they all disagree and the numbers won't allow it. What the Tory Brexiters are going to do now is try to get rid of May and get their new leader, to take us down the hard Brexit route. But I can't see remain MPs of all colours allowing this.
  • Seems pretty obvious to me that the politicians are not going to resolve this. The government and Tories are split with irreconcilable differences. Labour can’t support the deal and have their own agenda. DUP and SNP have already said they won’t vote for it.

There is now only one option. A second referendum. No other option. Clear question and binding.

  • What their plan is, is to get rid of May but persuade their Remain MPS not to vote for an election (vote of no confidence). It is then a question of numbers in the Tory party.

May will win new leadership contest. Deal gets through Parliament with Labour and possibly SNP amendments. Tory Party implodes over next 3 years. UK stays in EU via UK wide backstop solution for at least 10 years. Then another referendum.

Plausible but any amendments would of course need to be acceptable to the 27 and the clock is ticking.

  • To be fair, if we had an election without sorting out Brexit, people would vote on Brexit so it has to be sensible to have another referendum first. If I had to choose between somebody who is going to vote for Brexit or Remain, I would choose remain, even if my choice was a conservative.
  • So who is going to Brussels today for the joint press conference with Barnier?
  • I'm going there for a Christmas break in December. If he is willing to wait, I'll do it!

How can amendments be voted on? That would require, potentially, renegotiation with the EU and there isn't time - the EU have already said that.
  • In the unlikely event that some of us would be unwilling to read every single word of the proposed agreement, those nice people in the EU Commission have provided a couple of useful guides: europa.eu/rapid/press-release_MEMO-18-6422_en.htm & europa.eu/rapid/press-release_MEMO-18-6423_en.htm?fbclid=IwAR3Y3KJP_1e9jcVYF7TfjqTCIzC89IyPPiYA3OWWLPDz55ApcazhgVQbxD0.

I'm absolutely certain that the UK Government is being equally informative and helpful....
  • What people say and what people do is not always the same. If no Brexit starts to look more than possible, the EU will accommodate.
