I stand by my posts representing my honestly held views and that I don't lie in them. If I am wrong I am wrong - but they are my views. When I am accused of lying or being dishonest, that pushes my buttons. I don't mind being accused of being wrong and I am happy to accuse others of being wrong - as long as it isn't personal. This post was me reacting to people suggesting I was lying - so no - I am not happy about this being dragged up. Not sure in what universe you come from where doing so is valid.
Big Bad didn't accuse you of lying, he asked, what I think, to be a pretty reasonable question.
Thanks Prague - You are of course right - Sad pathetic people get a kick out of this but not sure why we need to put up with it. I have had disagreements with you, and they have got reasonably strong, but there is always a line that somebody like you and me don't cross.

Why not ask - why do you think it is better for your business then? Rather than refer to an episode that is clear upset me so much that I stopped posting on here for quite a while. This site shouldn't be about trying to push people's buttons - that is what pathetic saddos do!
Brexit means what she and the Remainer majority want it to mean-Remain under a slighhtly different hat.
well as long as we can regain the right to dictate how many people we let into this country, not be subject to the ECJ & don't have to pay anymore money to the EU after 2020 then I don't care if you call in a hard brexit, a soft brexit or a dogs dinner........and that Parliament can't block us leaving in March next year. Grieve was right to put in the amendment but it shouldn't mean we don't leave next March.
I doubt that will be the case - And Parliament will be able to block/delay it if they are not content with the terms. And I say great to that! Why the great rush? - Rushing is a major reason for our weak position.
Seeing as your business has, by your own admission, incurred doubled material costs for certain items after the vote, I'd have thought that the quicker a resolution is found the sooner you may see prices tumble gain.
Or has the uncertainty seen those prices brought back down from the doubling up that had, apparently, occurred after the vote?
God - what a tw*t you are! I made one truthful statement about costs doubling from a european supplier months back - that incidently, we have been forced not to use anymore and you planks have to latch onto it because it suits your narrative. Well one thing I will never accept, is my honesty being thrown into question - and certainly not from to**ers like you!
Wow.
If anything, your wobbly tells me that you're a big fat liar whose pants are on fire.
As you were.
People who insinuate and accuse are pathetic - I was so upset about that incident I stopped posting on here for a while and I don't need a holes like you bringing it up again. If you have a problem with that, happy to discuss it with you in person.
But he didn't accuse to of lying, did he? If you can't stand by the posts you make, maybe don't post them in the first place? You're happy to question what other people post, which is quite right, why can't you accept it when people do the same with what you post?
He brought up a post where I was accused of lying - I don't play the man, I play the ball. And when somebody plays the man, they need calling out for it! (There are a small number on here who don't undertsand the difference). I stand by the posts I make - they are my views and I don't lie. And accusing anybody of lying or insinuating so is out of order.
Mutts me old mate, funny you should use that football analogy, as I was just thinking that in some ways @Big_Bad_World is the Wilfried Zaha of CL. He is a master at sucking people in and drawing the foul. Sometimes of course, like Zaha he gets a deliberate kick too, because, well, like Zaha, he deserves it. But then, inevitably , the defender gets the card and Zaha/BBW walks away with a big grin on his face.
Better not to go to ground, don't slide in. Shepherd him out for a corner.
:-)
Ssshhhhhhh
Edited to add that that analogy has actually made me smile....laugh in fact.
Rich, it's quite brilliant. I salute you
It's a good job I don't feel hurt, upset or injured as a result

Yeah he did. Why slide in the word "apparently" as he did unless it was to suggest it didn't happen?
Anyway, regardless of this morning's succesful trolling which is not worth further discussion, what do the Brexiteers think of the concerns raised by the outgoing chief of the CBI today?
Even taking into account he's only a representative of the UK's biggest manufacturers and therefore his views can be safely disregarded as he's an "expert" he's pretty bloody forthright about what we are staring down the barrel of, "...If we do not have a customs union, there are sectors of manufacturing society in the UK which risk becoming extinct."
Yes I said it sarcastically because it is ridiculous and people subsequently said yes!!!! Can you please drop this subject. One you shouldn't have brought up in the first place. It wasn't furthering any of the discussions - Golf gave his view- I gave my view - then you have to dig up a spat that I felt injured about, seemingly just because I have a counter view to you. That is called playing the man and it is pathetic!
You are not the arbiter of what people can and can't bring up. Especially around something that has never been clarified other than a pram clearing exercise whereby you demand your word be taken.
Stop playing the downtrodden victim.
Nothing to do with a counter view at all and everything to do with calling out a smelly turd when I hear it.
What's pathetic is making a claim, refusing point blank to justify it by playing the 'I'm honest, guv. No need to question me the same way that I question others on a myriad of other threads' and then running away, only to come back months later and bend the words by blaming others for your own utterances.
It is the same with James Seed on the Takeover thread and even Airman. They provide honest information that we all find useful to hear and some have to dig at them. When we should be grateful to them. I wonder what it must be like to be one of these sorts of people.

One where people are able to think, and challenge claims, freely.
So, does anyone have a better understanding of yesterday's vote than I do? Because it *appears* that MPs have voted *not* to have a say on stopping Brexit in the event that it's a catastrophic disaster. Which, of course, is entirely the opposite of "taking back control" and ensuring the "sovereignty of Parliament".
The analogy is, I think, a vote to de-criminalise all drugs, while agreeing not to have a vote to reconsider if it turns out that there are some issues with de-criminalising drugs.
That can't be right, can it? If not, then what *was* yesterday's vote all about?
What claim did I make other than I thought it was good for my business? The emphasis is in the 'I'. I disagree with most of what Chippy says and I'm sure he disagrees with me, but he doesn't get personal. Why go back to an earlier thread that clearly got out of hand to stir things up? Unless you are what I am calling you!
And I don't demand my word be taken - you don't have to believe me - just don't call me a liar!
Gesture politics from Tim Martin again. I predict this won't last, since the business rationale doesn't stand closer inspection.
I am all for promoting English wine, and it's true that the best sparklers are considered to be decent alternatives to NV champagne. But here's the thing, they are priced at the same level or more, because they are produced in small volume. Check out Nyetimber for example. He isn't going to save his customers a penny, although if he persuades them to drink Hardy's for the same price as Taittinger NV, he's scamming them.
As for kicking out all the EU lagers, well good luck with that. People drink (real) German (and Czech) beer because they are damn good at that style of beer and they are brewed with water from a certain source. Pilsner Urquell is brewed in Plzen. Nowhere else. For a reason.
He's taking his customers back to the "good" old days of Hofmeister , or (insert German name here) "brewed under licence in Northampton"

Cheers.
If Tim Martin was being consistent, which he won't be, he'd also refuse to stock beverages that contained a significant EU content (so no Styrian hops, and the like).
It'd be interesting to see what that would do to the price of a drink in his chain.

Because you were saying 'what's the rush' when your business, by your own admission, had, allegedly, seen prices double for a/some material(s). I'd have thought that a quicker resolution would have given your business some long terms stability around prices of whatever it is your procure.
I can't believe something that has been mentioned but absolutely no proof given to justify the claim. I wont apologise for you believing yourself to be outside the sphere of mistrust around ambiguous claims.
uproar in the Commons now at PMQ's.....The SNP's have walked out en-masse as they wanted to raise a point of order at the fact that The Government are trying a "power grab" of laws from the EU thst would affect Scotland......the speaker said a vote on it could happene at the end of PMQ's and not during it. SNP who raised it (didn't get his name) wouldn't sit back down & walked out before he was thrown out......followed by another 20 or so SNP's .......
I said what is the rush because I think the fear of a hard Brexit is the issue - you may not. I gave information that was true - others rather than choose not to believe me overstepped the mark. Why it had to be brought up again is pathetic. I wasn't quoting it or mentioning it! I had to deal with somebody recently bringing up an incorrect recollection from a post months previously that I was lying about the murder of a school friend - When the post wasn't even discussing that. It is just they disagree and then try to dish dirt! That is the weakest form of argument. I have had other times where people overstep the mark and so do others on here. If I say something, take it or leave it. But don't make it personal!

So, let's put this to bed.
No matter how many times you assert that something or someone is 'pathetic' it doesn't make it true. It may make you feel better about yourself for having 'told them' but, in the grand scheme of things, it only serves as a personal confirmation bias.
Not believing what you say and simply asking for the name of the product/material in question is more than justifiable, completely fair and is in no normal persons view overstepping your self defined/drawn line. As Stu said, if you don't want to be fairly questioned around a claim that others wanted to understand and research for themselves, then don't make the claim.
As for personal, I didn't go all spanner fan and start calling people 'tw*t' and 't*sser'. So you were lying there.
Yes, my posts are aimed at you and no need for others to read them ad infinitum. If you want to PM me and continue it you are welcome to. Question me about what I am saying, not something that is history and I feel injured about. No need to bring it up other than to get a reaction which you got. Fortunately the reaction was verbal as we are both sitting behind computer screens. So let's put it to bed on here.

If, and I can't stress that enough, that was a thinly veiled threat then I'd strongly urge you to retract it. It's not a road you want to venture down.
Back to you claiming you were/are injured. Your unsubstantiated 'injury' means nothing.

Gents, please can we try and keep it on topic. Lots of interesting developments on the actual subject likely to be emerging today as golfie has highlighted going on at PMQs.

I'll take that as an admission of it being a threat and also a way of diverting away from your unproven claims.

I will most definitely be in touch.
Im here from the argument thread, its all going rather well and a little Danny Dyer too, well worth the visit....carry on chaps.....
Yesterday in Parliament was compelling and it continues today. On the (hardly ever mentioned by me) Irish Border issue the government and the brexiters still repeat that we don't/nobody wants a 'hard' border in Ireland but when asked (a short time ago it was by Anna Soubry) nobody has got or has suggested a practical solution. The 'Lexiters' I encountered at the Lewisham East shenanigans last night when I asked them were dismissive and disdainful regarding Ireland and in common with brexiters on this thread simply don't have a clue what to do. It seems to be a common trait for brexiters cornered by this issue to avoid it, dismiss it, or to show distain bordering on outright hostility towards the Irish. Boris of course is the great healer with his 'tail wagging the dog' comment! It amazes me that axiomatically at least, brexiters are content to be his ally.
Can anyone summarise today's events (in Parliament - not the craziness on this thread) - not sure I fully understand but it seems as though the Government have made it through unscathed?
