My guess is both potential buyers are letting Roland sweat,having offered and agreed a price that is net of charges being removed by Roland. He has been unwilling to pay the price for those charges, so stalemate. But it is screwing up our squad/transfer dealings you would say , I don't think either buyer cares as they have long term plans. They are not going to pay for his mistakes and willing to let him lose £1mn a month until he has had enough. Not great for supporters but Roland has no other options and they know it. Just a theory.

Looking to sell at a profit requires an upturn in fortunes by some margin. A relegation to league two means that losses sustained in the process of that upturn go on for longer so I would say yes a relegation would be something they care about.

The Scots left after one week when they saw how crazy his valuation was and the Saudis probably did the same. Why is Murray putting up with this and remaining a Director? He could end up losing his Limited Liability if it all goes pear shaped, if he left it would leave Roland totally exposed.
If the deal is not done by the time the transfer window closes the potential buyers would be justified in dropping the valuation, due to the likelihood of relegation, rather than the possibility of promotion.

At best we get ridiculously lucky with injuries (I know, not going to happen it's already starting to mount) and come January we are no more than 10 points outside the play offs and new owners splash the cash. That's not ideal anyway and already it's looking like we are going to have to wait another 10 months or so to get excited about Charlton Athletic again.

If there is a 2nd bidder as RD alleges, they would have spent a lot money on DD so why are they silent and not out-bidding? From someone close to the club I'd expect some more informed posts.

Therefore the agreed price of (say) £35m that RD agreed effectively went up to £42m. I suspect the Aussies expected clean title to the club. We've heard RD made a derisory offer to the former directors to pay them off. Think there is now a wait until they resolve who swallows the £7m that was unaccounted for.

It must be realised that we are a middling League 1 team, owned by an idiot with his own ideas on how to be successful in football and in the process(?) of being sold to an Australian consortium, that also has never run an English football team and is in no hurry to start learning. How anyone can expect this season to be a success, I do not know. All we can hope is that the takeover eventually goes through, the Aussies get themselves and the club sorted out and we have a reasonable season and be prepared, (you have heard it before) for next season
