I doubt the belgian will lower the price, he'll just sit tight until someone gives him what he wants. We're fucked.Goonerhater said:so there you have it peeps-----RD dont fecking care as its always been a soco/experiment/toy for his ego----and the "buyers" dont really care as they drive the price down and sell at sometime whenever for a profit.

So if that is Duchâtelet's entrenched position, do we resign ourselves to being "fucked", or do we do whatever we can to piss him off until he'll be glad to see the back of us?charltonbob said:

Weren't we told months ago that the price had been agree though?charltonbob said:

David Smith please stop peddling this shit. There have been statements from both sides that the price has been agreed. If there is a 2nd bidder as RD alleges, they would have spent a lot money on DD so why are they silent and not out-bidding? From someone close to the club I'd expect some more informed posts.1
-
I think it was. Multiple sources back that up. However some ITK posters have said that the price was agreed but the DD revealed the £7m hold over the assets that the previous directors hold and that RD didn't know about. Therefore the agreed price of (say) £35m that RD agreed effectively went up to £42m. I suspect the Aussies expected clean title to the club. We've heard RD made a derisory offer to the former directors to pay them off. Think there is now a wait until they resolve who swallows the £7m that was unaccounted for.killerandflash said:

Effectively you're saying that they have the option of paying off the directors' loans, and getting the deal done sooner than will be the case if RD settles up?nth london addick said:Its certainly not based on nowt @JamesSeed
As was always pointed out on here to me it’s easier for me say it’s not happening than it is for those saying it is however there have been dates mentioned by you and others around when it’s going to be a good week or it’s going to be done
I said the deadline for decisions was weeks ago and I have kept my powder dry since but those days are passed long time who is to blame ultimately is RD
The directors should be paid up in full or the status quo should be allowed to follow on
If the Aussies were that keen on getting this done and for the reasons that they put our club is and our fans are special all words used by the Aussies
If we were important and if we were the main reason then they would not leave us like this in the position we are in going in to the season
That is all fact and it’s all that people like GH and others are suggesting
We are either important enough to just get this done or it’s just about investment irrespective of the fans and this season because very soon this season is over
Which is a fair argument, if it's the loans that are holding this up, rather than the mystery missing documents.
Unfortunately I don't know which of the two is holding things up, or whether it's something else.1 -
unless i am not reading davids post correctly he hasnt said the fee hasnt been agreed , i think the suggestion DS is making is to why it may not have been concludedharveys_gardener said:David Smith please stop peddling this shit. Let's say I've got it wrong then and the Aussies are offering half the 7 million surely there comes a point when the Aussies walk away.JamesSeed said:

That seems to be the story, but I find it really hard to believe that the directors issue wasn't known about when the original price was agreed. I assume that by that time a fair amount of due diligence would already have been done anywaycafc-west said:

James, you're an optimist and as long as it's clear that the comments are your hopes, and not what the Aussies have passed on, then I can't see a problem with you being positive. Need to keep a flame going even in the darkest days.JamesSeed said:

Still can’t get over how this £7m was missed in the first place. I could’ve swore we all knew this and were openly commenting about it when Cash took over? I seem to remember there was always talk of money owed to Murray etc on the basis we got to the premcafc-west said:

Or am I confusing the two??0 -
It must be realised that we are a middling League 1 team, owned by an idiot with his own ideas on how to be successful in football and in the process(?) of being sold to an Australian consortium, that also has never run an English football team and is in no hurry to start learning. How anyone can expect this season to be a success, I do not know. All we can hope is that the takeover eventually goes through, the Aussies get themselves and the club sorted out and we have a reasonable season and be prepared, (you have heard it before) for next season0
-
Posted this a few weeks ago:
"I'm another one who doesn't get the negativity being thrown at the Aussies (who, can I remind everyone, are our only possible saviours from the Belgian nightmare that we continue to endure)….
RD: Okay chaps, I've made a proper mess of this footy business and thrown a ton of cash down the shitter, but I don't want to take responsibility for my actions, my narcissism simply won't allow it. So, I'd like you to reimburse me in full for all my losses, plus I'd also like to you to chuck in a bit more just to puff up my ego a bit so that I can continue to pretend to myself that I haven't failed. Deal?
Team Oz: Erm, OK, if it gets you gone, let's do it.
RD: Oh, and by the way, because I was too tight and stupid to do proper DD, I also screwed up on that and didn't realise there was an additional chunk of debt owed to ex Directors, so I'd like you to pay that off as well. Ok?
Team Oz: Well, you were taking the piss with your price in the first place, but now you want us to bend over as well. Are you insane? Everyone has their limits - your mistake, you pay for it. Keep losing cash and come back to us when you return to your senses.
RD: I can't believe you would hold up the deal like that - why won't you pay? Don't you have the money? If you don't pony up the cash, then I'll just sell to the British consortium that my friend Richard has assured me are waiting in the wings and in the meantime I'll tell everyone that you are skint and that's the reason the deal can't proceed. Richard!
Team Oz: FFS
Why should Team Oz go along with RD's delusion and goalpost shifting? He bought the club for a knockdown price, and because of his fuckwittery, it is now worth a fraction of that. He needs to get his head into the real world and then a deal can happen.
Just my point of view folks "
My assessment of the situation has not changed. It looks like RD's colossal ego means that he won't budge. Why would we expect the Aussies to give in in to the delusional shitweasel and pay even more over the odds than they stand to already, just because RD is an egotist who appears to live in an alternate universe where failure and incompetence is rewarded? I really don't see why they should, tbh.
So, we have a stalemate and neither side will blink. We have had interest from at least one bidder who is swimming in cash and they weren't willing to effectively humiliate themselves by paying RD's delusional price, so I cannot see anyone else coming in and agreeing to his terms now or ever. So, it is the Aussie bid or no-one (I don't believe the so called British bid exists, because otherwise they would be our owners now given the failure of RD and the Aussies to conclude the deal). How long before they walk too and we are left to wither and die under RD's continued ownership? Right now, that seems the likeliest outcome and it is very worrying indeed - in fact, once again, we could find our very existence under threat.
Don't blame the Aussies. Blame RD and his facilitators because they have led us to this situation. However, what, if anything, we as fans should do in response is the question and I, for one, am not sure what the answer is.....15 -
^^^ this. And ‘shitweasel’, loving that.3

It might have helped if buyers ever bothered to talk to Ex Directors or maybe someone either Roland or Murray told them , they won’t be a problem.
Well guess what they want all their money back as they have all the assets.
In their shoes so would I.7 -

If the deal was £35m but the seller sorts out the debentures then the Aussies have done their bit.
Maybe Roland should have contacted and made a deal with all the old directors a long time ago or offered more than 25% when he did?

To be honest I'll still plot up to have a beer with mates no matter what shit league we are in ,assuming we exist. However if we don't hear anything after the Norwich game (that's at the end of that game) which is the latest bollox deadline then I suggest that's this thread can DO ONE and all those "in the know" keep it zipped and we just get on with following a RD owned CAFC until Bob Hope comes riding over Shootershill to save us--- seems more likely.

So why haven't the Aussies at least attempted to get passed this barrier?
If they know this is what's holding up the sale, surely you'd want to know what your potential liability would be, should you decide to wait no longer?2 -
The 5 year plan, will have a massive wasted first the way this is going, so a 4 year plan from League 2 is going to be a horror show0

Easy solution. Roland knocks £7m off the price and the Aussies pay the old directors.
But maybe Roland doesn't fancy that.1 -
He could have done that months ago. He hasn't.
We've also heard on here that the Consortium haven't approached the debenture holders.
I would certainly advice them to at least investigate what any potential liability may be coming our way. Wouldn't you?
