The meeting between Lee Bowyer and Richard Murray has just broken up, and it has been decided (unlike the dreadful fans forum farrago) to release the minutes.
I have copied them for all fans below.

    I took minutes once.
    Just like that.
    Haven't been asked to since...

Mr Seed imsorry to say in the last few days ive started to feel thats exactly whats been happening-----the plan behind it ? no idea. The length this is taking is utter bollox we sold a hotel for plus £80 milllion in 95 owners from Japan ,hotel in London buyers Thailand.Three possible buyers---three DDs. Done in 3 months

That makes the delays here even more annoying. I’m looking forward to hearing what (or who) caused them.

Any of the supposed ITK lot starting to feel like they’ve been played?

If I’m included in that list (which I hope I’m not), very much no.
Then someone has to explain why we’re no closer then ever before, and we’re two weeks away from the transfer window closing.

How distressed do they want the asset to be?
I can’t see any reason why the Aussies would want to slow down the sale. Their investors will want to get off to a flying start, not a relegation battle.

I’m scanning CL. same as anyone else looking for clues, hoping to see the It’s Happening gif.
A relegation battle is what they're going to get if this deal doesn't happen by early next week. We probably need to sign a player just about every other weekday between now and the Sunderland game to avoid this.

We have an injury hit thin squad which will be fighting relegation as things stand. The last time I was this worried pre season was coming back from Belgium going into the 15/16 relegation season.

Man alive, I hope it happens soon. Weeks ago I bought a cheap bottle of sparkle so I could celebrate whenever the takeover happens. I've a horrible feeling I'll be sitting on a rare vintage by the time this deal is done.

No you won't! NV champagne goes off quite quickly (particularly if not kept in ideal conditions). Maybe 3-4 years after purchase, maximum. Cheap sparkling wine just gradually deteriorates. Drink it now and buy some more in due course.
Cheers for the advice cafcfan. No need to worry, there's no chance of it lasting 3-4 years, until Christmas much past Tuesday in our house.
  • I think Talking Heads and 'We're on a road to nowhere' would be as appropriate as the Funeral March.

Well, I will certainly be celebrating when the takeover finally happens. I’ll be in the White Swan as long as I’m still standing, ready to drink with any Charlton fan, bitch about the now gone Roland era, get excited about the future and tell stories of proper Charlton days gone by.

And I’ll be in for my ST day one. I’ll give the Aussies or anyone else who comes in the warmest of welcomes and the benefit of the doubt.

Having had 4 years of my Charlton life fucked up, I’m going to make the most of the new era.

Am sure lots of us will be joining mate, I will be for sure!

The White Swan will be packed - but maybe not as packed as when we screened the Jimmy Seed film ;-)
Maybe you can invite the chap you had a beer with, to the Swan Jim ;)
  • Does make me laugh, 30,000 comments of bilge and unfunny joke attempts, get some previously unknown actual info on the table, nothing.

    Strange bunch at times

How was any of that previously unknown?

  • 1100 on the horizon...
  • Page 1111 is the one, pun intended, to look out for
  • "the season is over before its started" ------ im getting the same feeling.

5loans gone----2 sold---kashi left---1 legal issues and three injured.RD has always operated with a small squad now its a net ten down even with the new signings. Anything other than staying up is an achievement----a big one.

as for waiting in EFL clearance do naff off-----The leed Aussie could have stepped in whilst looking fot two or more investors at a later stage etc etc.The EFL issue is either a LIE or a SMOKE SCREEN .

As for the Murray/Bowyer meeting ,o dear o dear that in itself is bad news-----if new owners were on the way there is no need for Murray to meet anyone.

Dark dark days at CAFC and not because we cant turn the lights on ! The damage being done to the back bone support by RD and the reluctant buyers is huge-----at the moment Div 4 is calling and possibly the total end of CAFC

This horrific no where land needs to end NOW.The buyer needs to comit or leave and we the fans need to decide what our own individual decision is ---go or stay

I’ve liked your post Gh and it’s kinda how I see things too but it does fly in the face of some good evidence to the contrary.

Perhaps our glasses have been half empty for too long now.

As nla says. This has got a zabeel feel to it now.

  • SHG its been said a few times there is no "evidence" only hearsay /gossip etc .We are way way way past the straw clutching .

as me an NLA said/know no evidence no case
  • My guess is both potential buyers are letting Roland sweat, having offered and agreed a price that is net of charges being removed by Roland.
He has been unwilling to pay the price for those charges, so stalemate.
But it is screwing up our squad/transfer dealings you would say , I don't think either buyer cares as they have long term plans.
They are not going to pay for his mistakes and willing to let him lose £1mn a month until he has had enough.
Not great for supporters but Roland has no other options and they know it.
    Just a theory.

Both ?You think there really are two ?

    exactly how i see it

and if you look back through my posts on this right at the very begining,

Roland is Rich enough and ignorant enough to not care about losing money and that is dangerous

losing money doesnt hurt him in the way we think he does, He funds the losses by selling players, and cutting costs and although i dont doubt at all its stinging him

nothing is stinging him like the embarressment of the humiliation that the protrests made IMO

he will make us suffer of that i do not doubt, Leige are a big deal in Belgium (how he removed himself there although you could say he stripped it before leaving) has no bearing on how he treats us we are just a toy that he has grown bored with and that cut his hand badly and as such we are heading for the dump

The Aussie or British interest dont really care about the fan base this is an investment buy it cheap sell it when its high thats the plan if we drop to lge 2 would they really care

  • ...No takeover in the next 10 days & 2018/19 will be over before it starts.

I think it's already over. Even if the Aussies have done their homework and identified their targets, and even if they've been really proactive, spoken to them about their plans this sale (if it happens) is coming too late. The best players will have already been snapped up or at least wooed, by competitors who are more ready than us. I usually consider myself to be an optimistic person, but I can't help but think this season is going to be a disaster. I think CARD's call to boycott is the biggest favour they could possibly do for Charlton fans. Anyone who is undecided should listen to them. It'll save a lot of pain.

I'd be very worried if the potential buyer(s) were happy to potentially write this season off. If they waste this season, that would mean that the earliest we could be back in the Championship (never mind the PL) would be August 2020, 2 years is a massive chunk of a 5 year plan.

I agree @Goonerhater , I said ages ago, if they were that confident of investors coming on board, why hasn't Muir dipped in his own pockets to at least get the show on the road.
    Zabeel again I fear.

Looking to sell at a profit requires an upturn in fortunes by some margin. A relegation to league two means that losses sustained in the process of that upturn go on for longer so I would say yes a relegation would be something they care about.

so there you have it peeps-----RD dont fecking care as its always been a soco/experiment/toy for his ego----and the "buyers" dont really care as they drive the price down and sell at sometime whenever for a profit.

    and the lights go out
and burger boy still has a job
