What has made the football so toxic @WhenIwasLittleBoy?

If you read my quote properly it states a toxic atmosphere.please read back.
The root of the problem is the owner and the useless team he has allowed to run the club into the ground. That is what has created all the toxicity around the club, so stop making excuses for them and accept the fact that if they had done things properly from the beginning, there would be no protests. The blame for all of these problems is firmly with Duchatelet and co.
My point is why did nothing get done with previous owners?

Anyone with half a brain could see that Jimemez was ruining the club and the stories that were coming out were outrageous.
Please tell us some of these stories

I go to watch football and not get involved in politics. That is my time where I have fond memories of sharing with my old man as a boy on the East terrace and wanted to replicate with my son but when my boy turns round and says he doesn't enjoy it anymore and asks why they are not wearing red and white as well as holding up matches I question why I need to go anymore and that is wrong.

  • Anyone with half a brain could see that Jimemez was ruining the club and the stories that were coming out were outrageous.
Jiminez ran out of money because his backer, Cash, walked out. He didn't have a pot to p!$$ in personally and couldn't afford the £5m run costs to keep the club going. He had to sell. His error was taking the highest bidder but when you are broke that is what you do.

    Why did Cash walk out?
Why didn't the American take over?
Why weren't admin and ticket staff being paid?
I can go on and on, the man is a spiv.

Why not get off the CARD trip. The man has the balls to offer an olive branch and meet the fans.
The man has been there a week and shows passion as well as enthusiasm and all we see or read are derogatory comments and silly images.
Back the team and get behind them for the second half of the season.

The response from the overwhelming majority of Charlton supporters has been positive to Karl Robinson.

The major problem is the off field running of the club, the inept management staff & the flawed & poorly enacted strategy / vision of the club. This directed by an owner who closes his mind & refuses to hear any critical voices.

So you will have to forgive those that sceptical about whether anything has changed. Evidence of more sensible decisions & better approach off the pitch that will underpin success on the pitch is needed. Duchatelet & Meire have demonstrated limited capability of that at their time at Charlton so far.
Regardless of what happens or whom is appointed there are certain factions that will continually carry on. Although they deny it there actions do effect the players and results therefor they are as much to blame in hurting the team and club rather than the owners logic would be to turn up and support the team with as passion as there is as when it comes to chucking things on the pitch.
What also would be embarrassing is going over to the spanners on the 21st listening to all the anti songs wearing black and white rather than supporting the team and wearing the red of Charlton.
You're not a plumber by any chance are you, because it sounds like you might be talking ballcocks...

No-one is as much to blame for the state of the club as the regime. Their negligence and cack-handed approach to running our club is 100% responsible for our current crisis, and for all further crises we will face as long as they remain.

None of this is down to the fans' protests, which are a reaction to, and an attempt to find a remedy for, the complete farce the club has become.
I take it you understand what state the club was in financially and where we were heading before they took over.
I think everyone knows what the state of the club was in before the regime took over and that is not the argument. The argument is the way that players, staff and fans have been treated / lied too along with the "We know best" attitude from the SMT (We are now where we are because of them, not the previous regime)
And that wasn't the case under Jimenez? At least we now where the money is coming from. How about the people who worked for the club and didn't get paid and were then made redundant? How about Parky getting the boot after his first game in charge?
    Where were the protests then.?
I was glad to see the change in manager, others may disagree, yet under the previous regime we had ONE managerial change in three years. Under this lot we have had SEVEN in a shorter period of time. Plus it's also worth mentioning that the previous regime, regardless of what people think of them, stuck with Chris Powell after a sticky start, then gave him the opportunity to continue his work the following season and funded a completely new squad packed with players that were considered very good for the level.

Under Duchatelet, Powell would have been ousted by the end of his first season and we would never have gone on to build the team we did nor win the league in such dramatic fashion. Whilst there may be some similarities between the two regimes, the last lot at least seemed to want success on the pitch and they didn't feel the need to tell the manager how he should go about achieving that.
Powell and Jimenez never spoke, and the money was due to Jenkinsons sale to Arsenal and the funds from Cash.
Jimemez was a huge Chelsea fan and the day we lifted the title he had a motorbike waiting outside to take him over to Wembley to watch Chelsea in the final. Some owner that.
    I

But he did come to the games, how many times exactly has Roly been?

  • Ah Dean same old crap comments yawn.

    Take it you know me?
By now I think everyone on the forum knows you. You say that CARD is embarrassing and wrecking your enjoyment, what is more embarrassing to the club are banned supporters who tarnish the clubs reputation.

Lol. With a statement like that. If you are in a pub talking to a armed robber does that mean you are going to hold up a bank?
Charlton wanted people to be nicked and asked people who worked for the club who now distribute beach balls stress balls and other objects before a game to name people. The police said I had nothing to do with the incident and was in another part of town however the club banned me for association

Seems you are blaming others for not doing what you yourself didnt do.
Same as me then only my son doesn't want to come because of the regime. 4k others too it seems.

You say you want to just go to football and not get involved in politics. Me too but you are very keen to get very involved in politics on here.

And I still don't understand the standing by a taxi remark @WhenIwasLittleBoy

So why didn't YOU do something then?

Seems you are blaming others for not doing what you yourself didnt do.

For the 200th time IM NOT PART OF CARD

IM NOT A SPOKESMAN FOR CARD

And it was a joke, stop pretending to be offended.
I am sure I could have heard you on the radio.
Are you serious or are you trolling now?

It's a radio show whose sole purpose is to have fans call in and chat football. He called in as as fan representing only his views and make those he has spoken to. Clearly wasn't speaking for CARD.
How can you be trolling by listening to a national radio show.? Also look,up the definition of trolling and the relevance to a national radio show.

If you can't see that a fans call in radio show is just that and if you are genuinely not trolling then I think it says something are bout your intelligence.

You might share the views of one political party does that in itself make you a party member? I assume if you want the end of austerity you must be are labour MP.

Before you take that literally as well it was clearly a hypothetical statement. I'm not suggesting anything about your political views.

Oh dear. Everyone at the time knew that was a joke, the amount of LOL's tells you that. And if you were still struggling, the fact he mentioned letthegoodtimesroll who'd somehow still find the positives if we were playing in front of 2k fans in the conference south should've also been a pretty good indicator.
