To go or not to go? - that is the question

  • I am only in the UK for 12 days and am thinking of attending the AFC Wimbledon fixture.

I know I should be ashamed but it is proving difficult to moan or protest about something I feel so completely disconnected from.

There will be zero purchases made inside the ground or in the shop but I am intending to use the Gents in the East stand at half time.

Does this just make me an apologist for this sick regime?

Yes but get yourself a colostomy bag and the answer will change to No , you decide

I think it makes you a confused old codger with a weak bladder
  • Tried my best and have missed all 4 home games but bought Wimbledon and Rochdale tickets today

    Miss it too much...

No, get yourself to the game. Just don't spend any money other than the ticket purchase.
  • Thank you for advice.

Will remember to pack the travel colostomy bag with my tartan blanket and thermos flask.

Just need to work out what days the ticket office opens now to avoid surcharge for purchasing on week.days , after 6pm, when it's cloudy etc etc.
  • Don't forget to wear your black & white though

More chance of me becoming a tax exile but I live in hope
  • Same dilemma different week.

Really enjoying going to away games - can sometimes even forget about RD/KM when I'm watching. Today I'm going for the protest shirt meet up but still haven't got a ticket for the game. IF I go in I don't want to sit in my usual seat in the East so will have to go somewhere else. I will also have to get on with ordering the ticket online too. Now 2 questions to thrash round in my tired mind - go or not? If go where sit?

Oh fuck as @3blokes would say
  • I would go in, yes you are giving them money. However, you being there in a protest shirt will irritate the regime. Worth its weight in gold.

If you get west lower near the away end its dirt cheap, then sit where you like.
  • I am going to some garden/flower thing this afternoon and not heading towards the Valley. What a prospect.
Last season I was going to the protests but not the games, and I got very well acquainted with Sainsbury's cafe, whilst I followed the matches on here.
Already decided I will be up for the next protest after today. There's only so much listening to someone talk about herbaceous borders that a man can take. Well, this man anyway..
Have a good time those that go
  • Sitting at home contemplating either footy or a day of diy. Only game I've been to was Northampton on a freebie. I'd have to pay for this one. It's a symptom of how low I've got with it that I genuinely don't know if j can be arsed or not. The DIY stuff needs doing and would be some brownie points from Mrs SB. Will be a last minute thing if do decide to go. Will check out the penny bottles. I'll pay the three quid surcharge in coins and count them out one by one at the till. Petty! Moi? Now where's that screwdriver.

Only up to 20p in 1p or 2p denominations though, still that's 30 coins and the other £2.60 in 5ps is another 52 making 82 coins in total, yeh go for it  .
  • No, no, no.

How many coins do you make it then?

  • Using my gratis ticket that I got cos of the 'restricted view' Burnley game. Looking forward to the photo shoot in my shiny protest shirt with hundreds more of you.

Any experts on here re drink smuggling into the ground?

  • Going to Barnet v Colchester, which I have absolutely no interest in. Haven't been to a game yet this season.
The terrible thing i realised at the end of last season is that I can't separate the team and the regime, so it's better to just not go.

Have decided to go into the ground, not just have the photo. As @ElfsborgAddick got me an over 65s ticket at Fleetwood and no-one challenged me (bastards) I shall try that again.

    That was handy.

You don't look 65, it's all in the hands!
  • Sheppey v Erith and Belvedere today.
  • Gave in to temptation and bought a ticket online. Despite being a just lapsed ST holder and getting an email club news update from them a couple of days ago the system had never heard of me. Astonishing. Had to register as a new customer. Note to squirrel face. I am not a new customer, your system is crap. Roland out.
  • Off to watch Maidstone v Guisley

Was quite tempted by that. Anything to get away from this garden centre thing
  • Do you think if I bought 1 adult ticket and 6 kids tickets in the east stand and then 6 adults and 1 kid arrived that anyone would know?

Football for a fiver. Every week.
