  • Got it, thanks - so because pv has now spoken with rd she can make out that he said he wants to move from the valley - she could have made out they had spoken after the emails 6 months ago though - they were claiming not up for sale then as she is now - I reckon she has done it to flush Murray out
  • It is unfortunate that Katrien gulps and stumbles over her words at the crucial point. I would slightly tweak the transcription as follows: "As we said in the past, the club is not for sale and we had several approaches from alleged buyers before, including the one of Mr Varney. But somebody.....S’proposal like that includes a move away from The Valley and Roland Duchatelet knows how important it is for fans that Charlton plays at The Valley."

If she is not referring to the Peter Varney led approach why has she not made that clear?

She has previous. Pretty much everytime she opens her mouth to be precise!!!!!FFS!!!!!
  • Is the LIAR banner still intact for next season?

    Here's a question:

WHY THE HELL WOULD A POTENTIAL BUYER BOTHER TO ADMIT THEY WOULD WANT TO LEAVE THE VALLEY?

Why does the idea or intent of that have to be brought up?

Why would that even be the current owners business?

Admitting that kind of crap sounds like something Katrien would do.

The whole thing is one huge joke.

Didn't that yank that has bought into palace state that he would want to leave the valley whilst talking to the club about a potential takeover?

    Very good points.

So in 'Katrien-World' we meant to believe that a potential buyer being represented by Peter Varney would disclose to Duchatelet during 'talks about talks' that his plan was to move the club away from the valley - and all this against a back drop of season long fan protests when such a plan would be likely would inflame supporters even more....

    Hmm.....

    Yes.

For me this just has Richard Murrary horsesh*t written all over it.

It's a strange one either way.
  • Has she said 'sorry Peter yet?'

The day Katrien says sorry about anything will be the day Charlton beat Millwall
  • Words from squirrel face are meaningless. Let's see the f****** emails!

  • It does beg the question though, would we prefer to lose The Valley if it meant getting RD and KM out of the club?
  • No not now the network strategy is over and probably not even if it wasn't - there's no smoke without fire and as I've repeated - where were all these great owners when the club was actually up for sale - twice
  • It does beg the question though, would we prefer to lose The Valley if it meant getting RD and KM out of the club?

    No it doesn't.
  • It does beg the question though, would we prefer to lose The Valley if it meant getting RD and KM out of the club?

Sadly yes. As I believe RD will always be involved with The Valley (spelling disaster/no future for the club), so I'd very sadly take leaving if it meant ridding ourselves of this scum.
  • How long to go?
  • if they are that interested, why don't they make themselves known? hiding behind varney? if varney's a problem for whatever reason why don't they speak direct to rd like varney now has? None of us liked the spivs once the money was pulled and none of us like the douchatalet thing but how do we know we'll like the next lot? Put up a manifesto I say. whats happened to the email exchange being published?

Thinking about it, asking Varney to do your bidding may not have been the best of ideas considering how much those partly calling the shots seem to have an axe to grind against him.

Richard, stop taking it all so personally!
I can't - its become personal now - everybody thinks I'm blocking something and because I've been around for ten years and overseen the slump its now all my fault - those who jumped ship and didn't put there hands in there pockets are all seen as the saviours. A bit like players who are injured and not in the team - always seem like the saviours until they get back in the team and then everybody realises they're not. If there were so many buyers around why was I having to put my hand in my pocket to keep the club afloat for so long and how comes we ended up with 2 basket case owners - all my fault I guess? The whole ten year slump is because I fell out with peter varney over something? righto.....

btw - I do not claim to be Richard Murray - for the avoidance of doubt! - but would like to go to football next year and put the protests to one side for a while. she obviously hasn't upset me as much as you lot. Blimey, ignore her and him for a bit can't you?

exactly - if thats the case then there must be a reason why they don't go to rd directly, particularly now the experiment is over and it looks like a salvage / sale job - load of nonsense
  • Lets assume you own a house.

It's not for sale but if the right offer came in you never know. It needs some work and you don't like the area much.

Then Bill Gates knocks on the door and says "I want to buy your house"

You think, "Bloody hell, it's Bill Gates, he's loaded" so even though you know the house is only worth £500k you ask for £1m. He can afford it, right. Next thing your neighbours have seen and their offering Bill their houses, it's in the paper and Bill gets a bit pissed off and walks away.

And that's why some very rich potential buyers of football clubs, and many other types of businesses, don't announce that they are interested and go through front men who know the business sector in question, like Peter Varney.

They make sure there are non-disclosure agreements in place before it gets at all serious and things like price and moving the business to a new location even get mentioned (if at all).
  • we know all that Henry but if you've been trying for 6 months and the intermediary 'seems to be' the problem, why don't they try a different approach????

Is that the same Peter Varney that has strong links with Kuwaiti multi billionaires?
  • surely peter varney will step aside and forgo his cut for the good of Charlton?

    That is pure Murray.
  • agreed - so why does richard murray get so much stick on here? If we dismiss the blocking varney stuff thenwhy does everybody think he should have resigned is position rather than trying to influence from within?? Can it not just be that he is telling the truth?

Yes but I wouldn't assume that that mean these buyers are the same or similar. I have no idea but I wouldn't assume it.
