I don't think Katrien's actions are based in confidence and arrogance. From her past performance she strikes me as the sort of person who can't deal with things and will leave them and ignore them rather than face up and deal with them and hope that they just go away.

But the whole 'fresh start' line is also a lie. None of it is true. They forget what they've already said. They lie some more. They slip up and make another controversial statement. They forget. They lie some more....and so it goes on and on.

I think that you are right.
She'll say nothing, Varney will release the mails, most fans get angry, but there will be a small number of people who will accuse Varney of being unprofessional (sorry Chris Parkes, you are married to the biggest public offender of people having a go at Varney and defending katrien against Varney) or link their dislike for @Airman Brown to Peter releasing the mails and claim it's all part of an Airman bitter ex-employee agenda. And we will have katrien make some sneery snidey remarks at the next fans forum about the whole affair.
So in short, can't see much changing. The likes of @colin1961 and addicted2charlton will see it as Katrien is defending Charlton and PV is doing something wrong out of spite, and that Katrien hasn't done anything wrong.

You could argue, that in varney giving airman the emails to publish from the original attempts to set up a meeting, that was, in business terms, a bit out of order and was what really fuelled the protests from a minority to a majority thing. You can't really start saying now that if you don't want to sell, that's okay because clearly the release of emails was to ramp up the protests and force a sale. Lets be clear about it - will be very interesting how this pans out but, unless she has gone mad, some info must have come to light recently otherwise why would she not have stated this 6 months ago as the varney takeover thing is what really fuelled the protests.

From a purely business point of view the comment was highly unprofessional and intended to wind up the customers. If Varney follows through she either counters or resigns. Keeping silent would indicate her position is secure for reasons we can only imagine. I know what I think, I've suggested it before. I'm at Ascot Tuesday with someone who will have some insider info. She didn't say this six months ago because as the emails released then showed PV couldn't even get any dialogue with KM or RD. Now, recently, there has been direct contact between PV and RD, of which we yet have no information of but it does suggest that the Club is indeed up for sale. It also puts to bed the lie that no one will buy us in League One. This recent communication would have remained secret if she had kept her gob shut. However, she just can't help herself. If you haven't noticed already she lies. This is another.
