The man is delusional. He has proven to be a complete Judas and has no credibility left with the fans. He is as much at fault for our current plight as the other 2 morons. He stays on because he loves the kudos of having a free seat in the Directors area, free food and drink and bragging rights at the golf club.
I agree with everything @bingaddick says. He dis us great service, but he has stuck around too long, and worse, decided to align himslef with the dark side, and defend the sqirrel, Fraeye etc when the rest of us can see the damage they are doing. Sadly, his legacy is burnt, and he will go down as just another failure. Sad.
I respect RM for all that he did to give us the Premiership years. That is our history and so is his part in it.
Despite all that has been said, I find it difficult to accept that he does not want anything but the best for our club and I would rather he was there than someone without any links to our club.

Sorry, but his part in our history is what makes his remaining on the board under the regime such a betrayal.
He has squandered vast quantities of goodwill from the fans (not all, I am sure), and has tarnished his own reputation to the extent that it is possible it might never recover in his lifetime.
To associate himself so fully with each of the many mistakes made following RD's deluded "masterplan", and to fail so spectacularly in his self-appointed role of intermediary with the fans, has been a massive mistake - he should step down.
If he couldn't find a reason before, the regime locking fans out of the Valley on the sponsors day should have been the opportunity to take.
Given the resonance of Alwen unlocking the gates and walking through with supporters in 92, he should have recognised the symbolic nature of that and to remain not only standing alongside the board but acting as their defender in chief has taken him beyond full circle.
His involvement is no longer in credit, sad though it makes me to say that. His only salvation would be to resign and go for their throats, but clearly he won't do that.
