I'm almost feeling sorry for Fraeye, as he seems to be the main scapegoat at the moment.

Yes he was useless, but that's not HIS fault, and it's not as if under Luzon and Riga we were exactly playing brilliant stuff either.

At least Fraeye showed some ambition in chasing and getting a role way, way beyond his means.

Contrast that with the stated ambition of the ownership - you know the one about us watching the stars of the future before we flog them to the Premiership Championship...

We must stop attacking Murray on this forum, because it may get into the local papers and he said that he reads them and we might upset him and we would not want to do that, would we?

Certainly not, given what he has tried to do for the club.

Don't know if anyone else has said it, but my initial reaction when he was talking about his choice between staying on the board and 'standing with the fans in the North Stand' was... 'you're not welcome, mate'.

Is that harsh? I don't think he's malevolent, just should have stepped down with his credibility in tact... hindsight is 20/20 though. Kind of feel for him in weird way.
  • Just piss off Murray you Judas.

Yeah I'd imagine he'd get a great reception first game of next season rocking up to the upper or lower covered end.

Just watched Murray claim that the re-appointment of Jose Riga "almost came off" in terms of relegation. Which bloody league table was he looking at. We were never out of the mire and never looked like getting out of it. The whole policy of the axis of evil seems to be that if you keep spouting shit in the end it becomes accepted fact.

Well it nearly worked in that if we had won 4 more games we would have been in with a shout.

Admittedly a shout of avoiding relegation rather than a shout at championship playoffs which is what we were hoping for at the start of the season.

It sounded as if Murray managed, in just two sentences, to criticise both the fans and the board.

It's the way he summarises seasons past and states ,with some assurance,.that he knows exactly where it all went wrong.

Reality is he hasn't got a fukin clue!

This is the closest this regime has come to actually spelling out what the mistakes were and how they are learning from them. Close but it's still not a full apology or rallying cry. Of course RM wasn't to know that while he tried to smooth the waters KM was going to throw a bloody great bolder in the pond to cause more waves. So it ends up meaning little.

Just a shame that the personal abuse comments, no matter how true, had to be made. Richard, you've known for a long time that that goes with the territory, whether deserved or not. Been there, bought the T-shirt, you're not new to this game or as thin skinned as Katrien. You know it's a public facing role and dealing with the fans is a key part of the job, you were a master of it once.

The Fraeye excuse is poor. He should never had come. Around the same time Bristol City appointed Lee Johnson, Rotherham Warnock and Blackburn Lambert. All were within a few points of us at the time. Not only did Roland appoint Fraeye but he kept him on and then wanted Nobby Vineger to replace him. It was a choice of Vinegar or Riga not Riga or an English manager as it should have been.

Your reason for staying inside the proverbial tent would have stood up at the beginning of the season but not any more. As someone who's known you for a long while now I just don't understand why you still stick around. It can't be good for you and it's not good for the club.

Its the vain hope it will be good for his pocket. Well summed up mate

The most mystifying comment for me is calling Riga "A calculated risk". What's the risk element in bringing in a manager who miraculously saved us from relegation?

Surely the risk was firing him in the first place with absolutely no viable or comprehensible reason.

Surely the risk was hiring a nobody from the Belgian pub leagues.

    Lunatic.

I think he meant that he wasn't English - like that was the magical answer to everything. The whole point was that we needed a manager who knew the league from a much earlier point. His nationality was not relevant.

Didn't Murray see Fraeye as 'The New Curbs'?

Murray was very clearly defending Fraeye when we spoke between Christmas and New Year. Did not accept that he was a problem.

Ha, yeah complete knee-jerk reaction to last season - "We need English people, I get it now!". Then if we do poorly this season "We need more overseas players to mix things up a bit" or something...

Oh dear, defending the indefensible and now blaming Fraeye for relegation months later. They really are in a mess aren't they?

Why would the owner want him involved? What does he bring? Why do they want to be associated with a failure?
