As someone who has been Chairman of this Football club for around 20-years surely you realise that you need squad depth to counter players getting injured... Surely you realise from the Curbishley days that you dont just throw in and rely on Youth players who arent ready.
I get he wanted to stay within the club, he's right that staying in his position he has more influence than if he joined the North Stand protests BUT he's done nothing by staying in his position and has been nothing more than a doormat to these owners!!
For someone who's been around football as long as him blaming injuries is laughable, everybody gets them it's just everyone else decides to build a squad with adequate quality to handle them and not a good starting 11 and journeymen/youth prospects from Belgian lower leagues to pad the numbers.
Same old bollocks from a yes man who didn't want to stand with the fans as he wouldn't get a nice payday for doing nothing and a nice padded seat in the directors box.
Jesus, you could not make this up. The day they announce a British manger and inject just a glimmer of hope into the club. The two biggest no marks in the board room come out with personal statements to completely over shadow it.
Ironically last season mirrors well the final season in the premier league of which we got relegated - overspent on poor non-standard players, went through a total of 3 managers including one disastrous 'interim' manager finishing in relegation after a slight upturn results ultimately spiraling into a period of shocking decline.
I am not suggesting that Richard is directly responsible for each and every poor decision last season - but as he clearly is a learner you could rationally assume he would be able to advise quite accurately what was going to happen based on his own experience ..... No?

This is the closest this regime has come to actually spelling out what the mistakes were and how they are learning from them. Close but it's still not a full apology or rallying cry. Of course RM wasn't to know that while he tried to smooth the waters KM was going to throw a bloody great bolder in the pond to cause more waves. So it ends up meaning little.
Just a shame that the personal abuse comments, no matter how true, had to be made. Richard, you've known for a long time that that goes with the territory, whether deserved or not. Been there, bought the T-shirt, you're not new to this game or as thin skinned as Katrien. You know it's a public facing role and dealing with the fans is a key part of the job, you were a master of it once.
The Fraeye excuse is poor. He should never had come. Around the same time Bristol City appointed Lee Johnson, Rotherham Warnock and Blackburn Lambert. All were within a few points of us at the time. Not only did Roland appoint Fraeye but he kept him on and then wanted Nobby Vineger to replace him. It was a choice of Vinegar or Riga not Riga or an English manager as it should have been.
Your reason for staying inside the proverbial tent would have stood up at the beginning of the season but not any more. As someone who's known you for a long while now I just don't understand why you still stick around. It can't be good for you and it's not good for the club.
It was a pity he didn't have the wit to gamble on Warnock!
Also, the injuries didn't help, but every club gets injuries. Maybe we were more unlucky than we could have been on that score, but there are lots of factors that contribute to the injuries as well as bad luck.
The excuse bingo these clowns play often comes up with injuries. This is total bollocks. We had no strength in depth, which directly led to Igor being over played and ultimately crooked. Every club has injuries but most have people that can cover! Part of recruitment is about how many games potential signings have played in recent years, Mak, Kashi and some others did not play much i believe.
Sorry Richard you are deluding yourself and treating us as fools. Why are you there if you have no influence? If you have influence why have you not stopped all the disasters?

'North Stand.' True 'fan' is our Dicky.

Twat.
Love publicity, love spouting disengenuous bullshit, and actually don't realise what failures they are.
More so to remind him that it's the Covered End, rather than the North Stand (unless Tony's been writing his "inspirational" speeches to the fans).
What?? We were relegated with three games to go!
Roly's been told that Slade will have us challenging for a Champions League place this season.
What has he influenced at all ?
You can't change anything - RD owns the lot and can do as he likes.
There you go Ricardo try that one!

He's had about as much influence as a scented candle does on top of a ten tonne pile of Cow shit.
And we all said that before he was even confirmed.
"Jose got us out of trouble before. It was a calculated risk that almost came off."
The difference was 10 points.
"The bulk of our best players were out for the bulk of last season."
Partly through bad luck, largely because of the regime's inept medical team.
"Bla bla bla bla, same stuff as last time."
Just **** off.
It seems that to spite Simon Jordan, you appointed Ian Dowie as manager.
And it appears you have barely made a correct decision since.
10 years of mostly poor decisions.
And still you turn a blind eye to the mismanagement of the club.

I can believe what you say about deciding to help influence from within. Your powerless but I believe you probably have spoken up.
It's still not good enough. Evidence here and combined with what you say seems to suggest you are really weak.
