"What do the other followers expect me to do? Resign and stand with the others in the Garden of Gethsemane? Or side with the Romans and try to influence them from within? I decided the second was the better option, even if it does give me some personal grief."
The crux of the matter is that Duchatalatet's game plan of not wanting to pay for experienced squad players leaves us over-exposed when inevitable injuries strike.
Given that the risible Luzon's only match day tactic was bug eyed exhortations to greater effort, you can only imagine how inept his training sessions were. No wonder players were dropping like flies.
Murray reckons that one of the biggest mistakes was the appointment of Karel Fraeye - a disastrous bridge between Guy Luzon and Jose Riga. ... "Karel Fraeye stayed too long - which was probably the biggest mistake."

Chairman Richard believes interim manager Karel Fraeye has the attributes to be the next manager. The Belgian took charge of the Addicks following the sacking of Guy Luzon - and has been told to make the job his own. ... Murray said: “Fraeye knows this club. He has kept a very keen interest. We felt he could come in immediately and make the job his own."

That quote obviously completely ignores the fact the appointment was labelled "interim".

This, this and this - we are always but an injury away from a crisis! Solly playing more games than expected was an example of a risk we got away with last season before Motta joined.

Plus Roland refused to pay for a larger squad ...recipe for disaster.
What a load of utter bollocks. Clearly Murray has drawn inspiration from our own Colin and decided that but for injuries last season would have been a catalogue of success. Beyond belief.
The regime have decided on a policy of "yeh yeh, that's all history, the future starts now". I, for one, am not going to be won over by this. All three of them have to get the hell out. And now.
"Championship club with Premier League ambitions."
Then one CM and one St injured most of the season before (Diarra and Vet) are injured again (no huge surprise to anyone) and a CM and CB new to the club with no UK experience get injured and the knock on to these 4 injuries is relegation by 10 points.
Motivational stuff as well for those players who will still be here next season but who weren't injured this and they therefore clearly weren't our best players.
What a tool.
We need to build bridges with the fans so let's see if there are any left we have t but t and start by burning those.
"We had too many managers last season. Karel stayed too long".
1. What have I missed here? Is it the case that managers kept turning up, unannounced? Or was it the board that appointed them? Richard, if you had too many managers last year, it's because you and your board kept appointing new ones. My trousers don't fit: not because doughnuts keep popping into my mouth unexpected; it's because I eat them. My waistline: my fault. Too many managers your fault.
2. Karel "stayed" too long? So, let me get this right: are you saying that you should have sacked him sooner? Or that he should have left before you sacked him? There's really one only, small group of people that's to blame for him staying too long: the board. That's you, KM and RD. He "stayed" too long, because you let him. Your fault.
3. And now, the dichotomy. If you sack managers and replace them too frequently, you have too many. If the mangers you appoint aren't good enough, you have fewer managers. You see, Richard, it's not really the case that we had too many, we had the wrong ones. And that, Richard, is your fault.
You're not convincing anyone Muzza, do a massive U turn, hold your hands up, try and save some face and call it a day.
You've still got a charge over the fixed assets, it's just the Diectors box bit you'll be missing out on but I'm sure you can cut some sort of deal. Jack it in ffs, you know it makes sense.
Go now, go now We've already said ‘Goodbye’. Since you've got to go Oh you had better go now. Go now. Go now. Go now Before you see me cry. I don't want you to tell me Just what you intend to do now, Murray
This is the closest this regime has come to actually spelling out what the mistakes were and how they are learning from them. Close but it's still not a full apology or rallying cry. Of course RM wasn't to know that while he tried to smooth the waters KM was going to throw a bloody great bolder in the pond to cause more waves. So it ends up meaning little.
I'm getting a bit bored of the "we've made some mistakes "line. Its not like not dotting an "i" or not " crossing a "t". They weren't mistakes that the board made, they were very poor decisions based on some very weird theories.
I agree this has to be the last 'made some mistakes, nowhere to hide now, must learn from them' excuse.
Next time the journos will have to remind them of the several times this has been trotted out before.
I hope Slade has asked for a soundproof cage in which Katrien is forced to work with only a line in from Slade and a line to Duchatelet. Now that would be a good clause to have in your contract.

No Richard, appointing a clueless numpty from the Belgian 4th division in the first place was the biggest mistake.

Why have I not left Charlton?
Go now, go now
We've already said ‘Goodbye’.
Since you've got to go
Oh you had better go now.
Go now. Go now. Go now
Before you see me cry.
I don't want you to tell me
Just what you intend to do now, Murray
as the Moody Blues might say
Non-executive chair?
So no day to day involvement, must get proper boring being sat on at meetings. Especially if he's Roly's chair rather than Katrien's.
Ding dong, the witch has left,
Which old witch,
Katrien the [b][w]itch.
He did get us to the premier league, trying to stay there was our downfall.
Is he owed money by the club.( by leaving a charge on the assets, usually the stadium)
He is wearing out my goodwill by apologising for the present regime.
I suspect he lost a great deal of money running the the club.
He must feel sorry for Roland
He should show more sympathy for the fans, when cannot beat Colchester in a FA Cup game.Bottom of league One.
What a miserable season.
Yes he was useless, but that's not HIS fault, and it's not as if under Luzon and Riga we were exactly playing brilliant stuff either.
