@colin1961 - it's always helpful to meet people if you wish to see what they are offering, that way you may also see the colour of their money.
PV in my experience doesn't offer meetings for the sake of it, had the CEO met with him she may well have discovered what he had to offer.2 -

And there was me, thinking that a certain Belgian was in charge....colin1961 said:

Or do you think he needs RM to hold his hand?1 -

RM is a business man Colin, if he felt it was in his interests he would talk to PV.colin1961 said:

Of course if no one is prepared to meet PV, then they will never know what the offer is.

Really thought we were making headway , and potentially had an interesting summer to look forward to-
Now it just looks bleak and very depressing!3 -

Fully agreed, we need to embarrass him and hurt his ego ...getting him to see the truth about his amateur 'SMT' would help but he seems totally oblivious to that ...although perhaps he prefers it that way, easier for him to manipulate.Fanny Fanackapan said:2 -
Does anyone think that the reason why Roland keeps cancelling meetings is because he is a shit communicator and is frightened of brokering a poor deal?1

That's why he has a lawyer to help with the negotiations.. oh wait!cafc999 said:Does anyone think that the reason why Roland keeps cancelling meetings is because he is a shit communicator and is frightened of brokering a poor deal?

I've wondered if when they do the "fit and proper" test on potential owners they should include a mental assessment as well.
Then maybe ourselves Blackpool and Leeds wouldn't have ended up with the nutjobs that we have now.2 -
Well, so far, number one has changed. And not necessarily in the way that most people would have chosen.Chizz said:For the record, it might be worth noting the state of play on the day this thread started.
1. Roland Duchatelet still owns the club, ground, training ground and academy; and employs Katrien Meire as Chief Executive and Jose Riga as First Team Coach.
2. There is no Director of Football or Chief Scout.
3. There is no construction work taking place at either the Valley or Sparrows Lane.
4. RD has put an asking price of £38m on the club.
5. Former Director Peter Varney heads up a consortium looking to make an investment in Charlton, but RD and KM have refused to meet him.
6. Former Charlton and England player Paul Elliott CBE heads up a consortium looking to take the club over. It is rumoured that RD will meet - but has not yet met - representatives of this consortium.
7. Former Charlton player Graham Tutt has been linked to a group claiming to be "leading a three horse race" to purchase the club.
8. CARD - the Coalition Against Roland Duchatelet - has organised protests including interrupting games with beach balls, stress balls and whistles; staging a mock funeral; demonstrating at the Valley and Sparrows Lane with mobile advertising; promoting a boycott of commercial activity at home matches and the delay of season ticket renewals; and drawing attention to Katrien Meire's ill-timed Dubai holiday.
9. Other, non-CARD organised protests have taken place, including a "greeting" for Duchatelet at The Valley, by "The Valley Eight"; a small pitch invasion; and one protest trip to Belgium.
10. No players have been announced as having left the club in the days since relegation; however Igor Vetokele is believed to have a relegation free-transfer clause in his contract.
It will be interesting to see how soon over the coming weeks each of these ten items develops. And how many unknown-unknowns will be revealed.0 -
