I've got journeyman downloaded and ready to read on my holiday next week
Just got back off hols which is the only time I read books. You’ve probably read it already but I downloaded Johnny Tapia’s biography - Ma Vida Loca . And it certainly was.
I've got journeyman downloaded and ready to read on my holiday next week
I bet it won't tell me anything I don't already know about the bullshit in boxing though, I am looking forward to reading it that said
In recent memory I can think of 4 occasions boxing politics has interfered and ruined legitimate opportunities
Burns v Beltran Connor Benn v the guy who blatantly beat him (I can picture the bloke but I can't remember his name) Groves v Froch Alvarez v Golovkin (first fight)
all because the winners were the promoters poster boys, it's fucking disgusting and those occasions were the televised bouts, it happens a revolting amount in local level fights. ticket seller needs to be knocked out to lose, even if they drop every round the fight will be a draw at worst
Peynard? He beat him in rematch I think the other month.
I don’t think that we can truly judge this era, until some of the main protagonists have gone head to head a few times.
The prospect of Joshua/Wilder/Fury having a succession of ‘Super Fights’ is an exciting and intriguing one, as all of them have something to prove, and all have obvious flaws that have had people talking before. Once they have all fought each other, and once we have seen the quality of those fights, we will be in a better position to judge all of their places in boxing history.
We have now reached a time, when for the credibility of the sport (and indeed the individuals involved) these fights need to happen now – and I for one can’t wait to see them!
Obviously beneath those three, you then have the ‘Tier Two’ Heavyweights such as Whyte, Parker, Ortiz, Povetkin and possibly Dubois given a bit of time – though I don’t see any of that lot making the step up anytime soon.
After he's dealt with Bellew, add Usyk to that list. He will move up to heavy and will be a force to be reckoned with.

That's the one, he 100% lost the first fight, I would say it wasn't close either. I've got to be honest I didn't see the rematch but I was aware he beat him

I loved Johnny Tapia, I didn't know there was a book on his life that shall also be getting downloaded today. He was beyond a character, didn't take any nonsense at all and from what I knew before he passed away, had an insane life

100% agree he smashed Benn to pieces in first fight and it only started being competitive once he ran out of steam

Agreed - forgot to add Usyk to that list - really fear for Bellew in that fight.
Isaac off to big bear and pulling out of British but doing it in a bad way imo
Taking a silver belt option on the Tyson under card
And here’s my problem with that
It’s disrespectful to the BBBOC and what I deem to be the best belt in the business
It’s disrespectful to Ryan Walsh
It’s a stupid decision as the BBBOC have to sanction the Isaac fight in Vegas and can say no due to the title fight now being in jeopardy on the copperbox card
If Tyson loses to wilder (real possibility as I think it’s too soon ) then Eddie Hearn will be pissed proper with Isaac pulling out of the fight with Walsh this late and won’t touch him with a barge pole ever again
This is all due to the team he chose to join not being able to help him prepare for his biggest challenge to date as their focus is on the big fella
Silly move in my opinion by young Isaac , Tyson has three fights left maximum and Isaac should have atleast 8-10 left yet his whole career is going to ride on the big man getting the result
I actually take back my comment as it's since become apparent he accepted the fight whilst injured, knew he was injured and likely wouldn't finish the fight. In which case he shouldn't have even been there.
Not sure what the plans are for Okolie but no way on earth is he doing anything at world level.
Terrible absolute shite Bob how he was allowed to get through that with out a DQ is beyond me , I notice Sky haven’t gone straight to interview, Eddie managing every minute of this fallout
Okolie was a pile of shite. Heard some reasonable things about him but he's going nowhere above British level based on that. And that is in a pointless division.

Backed AJ rounds 10-12 at 13/2

Not worthy of my money though. Really not feeling it.
