  • Jab to the body is key for AJ

Always liked his left hook too. Should look for it more
  • Awesome finish by AJ. Was even stevens before that
  • Finished him like a champion there
  • That was what I was screaming for he was looking for that too early leftvhimseld open to the hook

Re grouped learned a lot again tonight was very much what he needed

And then Jab Jab take the opportunity when it comes and did so in style great great finish very impressive

If we can get rid of the silly ness where he is not fully switched on then there’s a faultless fight due to come out

    Never in doubt.

I had him behind on points up until that KO. Was certainly in doubt.

    Great finish though
Until knockdown I had him 1 down
  • Never in doubt.

Agreed mate but I wish he would not look for it as early as he does sometimes leaves him vulnerable

  • He is so good at finishing a fighter when he gets them hurt
  • Impressive finish. The Ruskie was no mug and very brave, only lost once before to Klitschko.
  • Watch the knockdown again, Povetkin’s trainer pulls him through the ropes
  • Watch the knockdown again, Povetkin’s trainer pulls him through the ropes

Yeah I clocked that, I'm not 100% sure of what he was hoping to achieve if I'm honest

They forgot to pack a towel by the looks of it too
  • Why can’t I lol my own post.

Doesn’t matter now but pathetic scoring.

  • I do not want to see AJ vs White

I think that it was another learning fight for AJ he needed the danger he needed to be clipped and caught for him to learn that he has to hold his nerve and he has to wait for the opportunity to show

AJ in the 5th and 6th tucked his chin behind the shoulder and then found the Jab was more confident and comfortable working behind it then the finish was faultless

Very very hard fight very very close fight up until the finish

That was the last rd Povetkin had in the tank where he could surprise everyone with a shock win

So it was all about the ability to be patient

Do you think that same patience works against Wilder? Is his defence good enough?
  • A fully fit Joshua has got too much for Wilder. Not sure we'll see a fight against Fury.

Yeah I do , Wilder is not the one to watch Imo he is a clumsy swinging machine , who will be shit scared of the power AJ has I think Whyte beats wilder , we do not know enough about wilder one win on his cards against Ortiz who I am sure is 50!

The only reason they want wilder is that it is an easier fight than a fit in form Fury

Now I do not think Tyson is ready for wilder yet and he could lose that fight easily but I do think that by this time next year he could be ready

I think the fact Tyson has taken the wilder fight don’t listen to Hearn it’s happening in Vegas dec 1st . Tells me Tyson isn’t convinced that the old Tyson is coming back

AJ learned a lot tonight , against the biggest single punch power fighter that he has faced and prob , lb for lb the hardest hitter in the division for one Punch knockout power

That wasn't a leading question, was genuinely interested on your thoughts. So are we hoping/praying for a Fury win to set up an AJ fight? Agree they'd rather a full strength Fury is a tougher opponent but would it not have made more sense to take that on first and then still set up a Wilder fight after? Surely AJ Fury is a lower probability of Fury loses?
  • Even sky's blog guy had povetkin three up first three rounds. Joshua ahead is being silly
  • I thought Povetkin would run out of steam quicker than he did, Joshua did not impress me. He can dig no question but he's so naive (I know he's only had 23 fights thanks for mentioning it Sky) I can't see him fighting Wilder or Fury for a while, it will be him v Whyte next

AJ doesn’t want anything to do with fury IMO fighting him now wouldn’t happen as Hearn would be too scared he misses the big Fight with the USA king wilder and Fury too scared he’d get beat due to conditioning

I have always believed that the AJ vs Fury fight will happen late 2019 in a stadium with the roof closed due to the obstacles of getting it done prior to that

If Fury beats wilder then Hearn and AJ May have no choice but to face him in April but I can’t see it

The fact they have mentioned Whyte means that’s the fight they will get done or if Hughie beats Pullev then I could see that fight being made

  • We enjoyed the night but even at £80, we were too far from the action for my liking.
  • I have never watched a poorer fight than this okolie has ruined this

Yeah, it was so boring, I went and had a pint.
  • Thought Povetkin won the first 2 rounds at a canter. For me, after that AJ just edged each round and i mean just edged. Good fight though
