  • Even if he's been in bed all week with the flu.
    Groves wins
  • Billy Joe Saunders has alledgedly failed a voluntary drugs test
  • On the bugle
  • On the bugle

I don’t think it will be that more likely a fuck up on some med I honestly don’t think BJS is a Duce head or likes a bit of bugle
  • Been living with Kid Galahad since his move to Sheffield.

Hope Galahad’s brother hasn’t been “putting steroids in peoples drinks without them knowing” again
  • I don’t buy any of that if thatvwas put forward as the excuse I didn’t believe it back then either
  • “Oxilofrine is a stimulant used to increase endurance, focus and alertness.
Banned by sporting governing bodies for its performance enhancing effects”
  • No way BJS knew about this
  • “Oxilofrine is a stimulant used to increase endurance, focus and alertness.
Banned by sporting governing bodies for its performance enhancing effects”

Only banned in competition and rules for in competition are 24 hrs before a fight in uk and 12 hrs in USA

Strange situation but I guess no action will be taken

  • Groves inside six for me. I think Smith is a sky hype job and I reckon he is packing Scouse glass. There has to be a reason he has been held back for so long

I'm not sure I agree - Smith is a very good boxer.

However George, if fit, will I believe be too powerful and ring wise for him.

    Good interview with groves

I think Smiths only standout quality is his size. He can't defend a jab and lacks head movement. His power is ok. Who is his best win? Rocky fielding? Who froze against him.

    Yeah, strange one.

The test was by VADA who have no authority over a fight.
The in competition rule is set by WADA.
So it will just come down to the commission of the state the fight is held in to decide if he can box.

I can only see them following WADA guidelines and classing it as outside of competition, so fight on as normal.
  • Following reports of an adverse analytical finding in a test carried out by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (“VADA”) on WBO World Middleweight Champion, Billy Joe Saunders, we can confirm that the product concerned is permitted to be used ‘Out of Competition’ by United Kingdom Anti-Doping (“UKAD”) in line with the regulations of the World Anti-Doping Agency (“WADA”).

For the avoidance of doubt, the product in question was a common decongestant nasal spray.

The British Boxing Board of Control (“BBBofC”) under whose jurisdiction Billy Joe Saunders is licensed are affiliated only to UKAD/WADA.

Today the BBBofC have confirmed that Mr Saunders is not in breach of BBBofC or UKAD anti doping regulations and is therefore in good standing and is licensed to box and defend his World Title on October 20th.

Mr. Saunders has been tested a number of times in 2018, all negative, his last out of competition test by UKAD was on 24th September 2018.
  • In which case you would imagine it’s quite a common thing that boxers test “positive” for.
So why was this published to media as a failed test so quickly. Someone jumped the gun somewhere.
  • Groves shoulder is the only reason why he might not win. Smith is a good boxer but has never really been tested.

I think there’s agendas and BJS has offended a lot of people of late , people don’t like him he is very marmite I would say the person who did it was one of those

If there is an agenda it's one he himself has created with that recent video where he's a complete tosser for what he did to that drug addict resulting in an innocent bloke walking past getting clumped...all for his own amusement.

His son punching a fellow professional in the minerals last year also paints a picture of the caliber of person he is.

Excellent fighter and was a fan but after seeing that video harassing the junkie he just comes across as a bully. Bloke is nearly 30, intelligent and a hugely wealthy professional fighter not some thicko teenager doing youtube pranks.

  • I am hearing the shoulder ain’t good and from listening to St George talking about a stoppage reasonably early I think that just ads credence to the rumours

I am a huge George Fan and want him to win

But Cal I feel will come through an early onslaught and then it’s down to the shoulder

Cal by stoppage or withdrawal for me

Heard the same. Even heard this could be George's last ever fight. Hope not.

If it is his last ever fight then I so hope he wins.

He's had an amazing career and he finally got the belt. I'll always have a soft spot for Saint George - his fight with DeGale was the first fight me and my two boys went to together, which cemented their love of the sport.

Come on Georgie - one last time.
Yeah I really hope it isn't true, but got a couple of mates who go to Chelsea with George's uncle and it came from them.

Been to most of his recent fights but obviously won't get to tonight's!

He has been a breath of fresh air, such a different style to other British boxers, hasn't ducked anyone and is genuinely exciting to watch

I hope it isn't his last fight I'd love to see him box again. As ever he got asked about the DeGale fight and whilst that would be a convincing win again for Groves I think if he could tempt Benavidez over here it would be a humbdinger of a fight to finish on
  • It’s exactly what I heard win lose or draw this is it for st George

I want him to win real bad

Thing is Cal is an unknown quantity the best Smith by far imo

    Has it all

And I think the shoulder is going to pay a big part on the result

    Real shame.
  • For those unaware the Groves fight is tonight, not Saturday.
    Ring walk 9pm
  • Oh what thought it was tomorrow. Cheers
  • Anyone watch the Darren Surtees fight? Just stopped his opponent absolutely savagely
