  • George won’t want that fight imo and Degale vs Jr is all but signed

I can see the break George spoke about last night lasting a good 8 months and from there I can’t see him coming back
  • Predictable handbags at the fury wilder press conference. There's clearly no heat in this fight, but both must be desperate to win
  • They were nice as pie on gmtv this morning.
  • I see Isaac has finally told Walsh
  • I see Isaac has finally told Walsh

Yeah I see that. I don’t back that move at all and personally feel like I’m not sure I want to follow his career anymore when he’s putting nothing fights just to get Tyson fury’s off cuts as such over proper fights that mean something.

Very disappointed and very difficult for me to decide what way I wish to go with the partnership between us

I know that it would not be the path taken had he still been under Jimmy Harrington

It’s a huge decision based on Tyson winning if Tyson loses this back fires huge

Tyson wins it’s the best decision for Isaac as he will follow the fights and have a belt to put on line and pos get a real belt

  • Tyson or Wilder?.
  • If Tyson was fully fit and focused he would beat Wilder and AJ.
The question is how fit and focused is he.
  • Tyson or Wilder?.

I think Tyson is wild enough.
  • Always said the Tyson that beat Wlad would beat AJ and Wilder no problem.
I don’t know if that Tyson exists any more.

Feel that this is too soo for Fury, 1 or 2 more step ups first would have been ideal. But he’s got (had?) the talent to beat Wilder easily.

He’s never been the most active but the Klitschko fight was 3 years ago, and he’d consistently been fighting every 6 months up to then between the prime fitness ages of 25-27. That Fury I don’t think will ever return.

People forget as well Fury has only knocked out one opponent, Joey Abell, since April 2012. And by the time of the Wilder fight that will be nearly 5 years ago.

He hasn’t got the fitness, sharpness nor the power for top level boxing. A formality for Wilder, managed to come through Ortiz’s power, if it even takes place.

If I was to have a bet it will be that the bout will be postponed.
  • Quite looking forward to Catterall/Davies

I think the latter part of this post is correct the more I watch this whole charade on tv and social media and I really do think the reason it’s in LA is testimony to the theory , if this fight was serious we would have a Vegas or a night in the garden on the cards

Something fishy in the whole thing for me right now gut instinct is there will be no fight

    Back to the question

Wilder is the worst boxer I have seen in years

But as a fighter he is average with a huge ko power

Tyson turned into one of the finest boxers the heavyweight division has had he was unbelievably quick handed unbelievably quick footed and had ring craft and guile better than most middleweights and he does carry some power all be it not massively heavy handed

An 80% Tyson beats wilder and stops him , only due to how poor the wilder defence is when he swings and misses he will get caught and it won’t need to be a heavy punch that does it

Anything less than 80% and this fight (if it happens) will stink the whole place out it will be appalling if you think the last fight was bad you will not believe your eyes this time out

If by hook or crook the fight happens and Tyson gets 90-100% fit he will dance the socks off wilder playing with him like a cat with a ball of wool and drop him
    Whenever he wants

  • It'll still be a shit spectacle, whatever Tyson turns up.
  • Agree with NLA won't happen

You are possibly being a shade harsh describing Wilder as 'the worst boxer you have seen in years', but I do take your broader point.

Had only seen bits of Wilder, before watching his fight with Ortiz, and was totally underwhelmed by him. If the 7th (I think), had gone another 15-20 seconds, then this fight wouldn't be happening, as he would have been knocked out.

To me Wilder looks raw and impatient, always looking for the KO with those huge swinging punches, which a good fighter will dodge with disdain.

If Tyson is only at 75% then he will have too much for Wilder, like you say he has the know-how, ring craft and expertise to tie him up, make him miss and generally be his worst nightmare, as Fury is about as awkward a fighter as there is around at the minute.
  • Question I have is that even an underbaked Fury can dance round Wilder... I doubt he'll knock wilder out... But would he ever get a judges decision in the states?
  • Sponsored links:

  • Interesting point, though he got the decision in Germany, which is never easy.

A critical factor here, is that Wilder has only ever had ONE twelve round fight, whereas Fury has been the distance on several occasions.

Also don't discount that there will be a big weight discrepancy, and for Wilder having 18 1/2 stone of gypsy leaning on him, and pushing him around the ring, is going to be exhausting over twelve rounds.
  • When wilder throws a bomb from down by his left ankle and swings it around to club some poor unsuspecting bin man from Brooklyn he nearly spins a full 360 when it misses , at this point any decent counter puncher could ko him with a decent stiff jab , a stoppage in LA for Fury is well achievable and talking to the big man I know he believes he can stop him with a counter right ,

But I just don’t think the fight will happen

Wilder is a very very poor boxer definitely one of the worst by far in the last 10 years

But only if you are looking at the finer skills and the details of boxing

He is not the worst fighter he is not the worst heavyweight he is not the worst brawler but the man can not box he has no boxing skills you’d associate with a professional boxer

But he has two big bombs on the end of freakishly long arms that literally turn into a human windmill

Wilder has only boxed 123 rounds in 40 fights!

But can Fury ...'dance round Wilder'.... for 12 rounds?

He has the ability to cope with Wilder but does / will he have the required fitness?

I take your implied point about biased US judges.
