For what its worth I would have preferred it in Red and White, as an alternative to the "official" kit and not as a protest shirt....we dont play in black and white.
I'm presuming the whole point is for them to stand out
Would prefer My only desire but not going to put me off buying. Think it's a class design and does look great without a sponsor. Big well done to those involved.
Would I be right in assuming we can't put CAFC etc. on it as the club has copyright on the name? I'd guess we could use Addicks, though, couldn't we?
This might be one area where breaking the law or even very nearly breaking the law (eg the Real Charlton Athletic FC) might have some justification - if the club were daft enough to take its own supporters to Court for such a matter then I very much doubt that they would win from a publicity angle. Anyone any good on copyright law?
Just mailed Nug to put me down for three. Might get to four if my niece says she'd like one too.
Would like to wear it to the Supporters Summit at Wembley in mid-July, when I'm likely to be speaking about the OS campaign. (I'm going to ask them if there will also be a slot for the CARD story, in which case someone else who fancies themselves at presenting, will need to come decked in the shirt too)
if anyone is thinking " OK, but what if he does sell soon?", well I know what I will do; I will have it framed and hang it alongside the Valley Party posters and the Back to to the Valley print.
Let's get behind this, it's class.
What size are you? I've got a couple of prototypes arriving soon.
Medium I would think (5.7, and about 11 stone,) but as I'm not over until early June, might be better to get someone else to try if you need a test.
Really surprised that you were told "Valley" is copyrighted. It's an everyday word. I could understand The Valley with caps. But fair enough, I know you had somebody with specialist knowledge looking at it, and I really like the design otherwise.
I am full of admiration for those of you driving this idea forward and I intend to buy one (or two) But please rethink the 'covered end choir' ... 'my only desire' would be much better.

I think the problem is that we need something identifiably Charlton. It seems they have copyright on most things. SE7 would be something they do not own, but is it as good as covered end? Maybe 'Covered End SE7'.
I am sure they have had all these discussions already and we all have our view of what is best, but at the end of the day it is being produced to reduce an income stream from the club. And maybe earn a shilling or two for the fund.

I presume people that are good with copyright were used during this process... Hence avoiding copyright infringement
'My only desire' is at least as Charlton as 'Covered end choir'.
That said I'd be happy with both as in my experience, even if you are not in the covered end, if you are singing you are part of the covered end choir.
Not many people going to not buy on this basis (I don't like the covered end choir) I would think/hope.

love everything about it. email sent on train on way home from the ground yesterday. Well done all involved.
Don't get people's gripes about using Covered End Choir, it's Charlton whether you sit there or not... "My only desire" on a XXL shirt would look very weird!!!
Just a quick update . We have already received over 250 enquiries with many wanting multiple shirts. My Mrs is doing a spread sheet as I type. As soon as we have this finished we will be in touch and hope to send out a sizing chart. We will make larger sized kits as well as junior sizes but we need as much info as possible prior to production. Thanks once again for your interest.....and please email us at Coveredend@Gmail.com with your requirements and not in this thread as it will be too difficult to track from both sources. Cheers Terry
Great work but am I the only one to not like the colours?
Opportunity missed with a simple red design. The point is to outsell the replica kit and this would have been achievable with a simple red design.
But if it had been predominantly red it wouldn't have been as noticeable in the ground. Also it carries on the Black and White theme. I really like it.
Exactly, if it was a red jersey it would "blend in" with the official replica kit. We want to stand out - it IS a protest.
To my mind it doesnt matter if it blends in with the official shirt so long as it OUTSELLS it.
What's the point in outselling it, if it can't be seen to be worn more than the official kit?
A lot cheaper than the official club shirts. The more we order the cheaper they will be.
Are CARD planning to make a profit on them, I hope so and a fair sized one. I'd rather pay an extra £5-10 and have the CARD kitty bolstered? (I presume it is CARD 'funded' with the badge on the sleeve)

Look forward to having one!!
No it's not a CARD funded project. Profits will be split between Davos55 and Curb Its fighting fund and a local charity. I'm not involved with CARD although NUG and maybe one or two others are.

Looking forward to the establishment of a full on CARD "Get out of my club" shop. Shirts, scarfs, flags, badges, posters etc
