Any chance of a sword being added? Always felt our badge was the most reconisable outside the most publicised teams (I.e top European and british sides)
For those asking. We cannot use the Sword, Addicks or Valley. All trademarked.
Not a problem, looks good as it is.
@TEL any ideas as to when these may be available? Presume those of us who have emailed will be contacted.
Prototypes will be here in the next two weeks. Once we are happy to sign off production it will be a couple of weeks to make them and then the same in shipping time. So I'm hoping mid July . Yes I will respond to the emails in due course just bear with me as I'm travelling around visiting family at the moment and my mobile internet is a bit unreliable. Tel
Like the idea of the sword and choice of slogan - wouldn't feel right with covered end choir on mine as I'm not sat there!
As said earlier it's in reference to "valley floyd road" not an indication of where you sit. I would imagine you could call a Liverpool shirt "the kop" and wouldn't have to sit there to feel an affinity with it. Would have loved the sword on it.
For what its worth I would have preferred it in Red and White, as an alternative to the "official" kit and not as a protest shirt....we dont play in black and white.
Great work but am I the only one to not like the colours?
Opportunity missed with a simple red design. The point is to outsell the replica kit and this would have been achievable with a simple red design.
But if it had been predominantly red it wouldn't have been as noticeable in the ground. Also it carries on the Black and White theme. I really like it.
Exactly, if it was a red jersey it would "blend in" with the official replica kit. We want to stand out - it IS a protest.
To my mind it doesnt matter if it blends in with the official shirt so long as it OUTSELLS it.
@TEL and @Nug (and others? Sorry, I'm unaware of others involved ) have done a grand job getting this sorted. They've clearly given the logo, slogan, colours, look and design a great deal of thought and have stated that decisions were made based on the input of a number of people. They've even looked into the legality of certain symbols and words - yes the Sword or 'Addicks' would have been nice, but we can't do it without falling foul of the law. With this in mind (and notwithstanding the reasonable comments along the lines of "Oh, that's a shame") I think it's a bit much to start asking for changes or moaning about the colours "because Charlton play in red" or the slogan "because I don't sit in The Covered End". If you wanted something specific, you should have got involved in the process. I'm sure either of these guys would have welcomed your input. For what it's worth, it could have looked a bit pony and I still would have stumped up for one. It's about the cause.
As it happens, it looks like a high quality piece of kit and I can't wait to get my hands on it. (If you don't agree, that's fine. Why not go and buy a t-shirt and sew a Charlton badge on it or design your own shirt with whatever slogan you think is better. No one's stopping you.)
Apologies for the rant, but this thread started to annoy me.

We have played in black and white in the past - we won the FA Cup in black and white ... and I'm not referring to the newsreel footage or photos!
I don't really care if I like it or not (I like it), and whatever tweaks are done I can accept. I want one, my son wants one. I am a bloke that can make a replica shirt last for thirty years.
I'll definitely be getting one. Anyone else suspect the official away shirt will be white and black halves next season?
That's OK, our shirt will be different as ours is black and white, not white and black.
(Anyone who follows Aussie Rules will know that Collingwood do a similar thing - white stripes on black for main shirt, black stripes on white for a clash kit. Arrogant fcukers.)
good work chaps. have the club really got a trademark on the city of london sword? or is it the sword and hand they have?
It's complicated and not a simple answer (I have now found out) and it's all about how much risk you want to take. We have taken advice and felt it was best to avoid using.
Edit: just to add for 80% of the development and idea process we had a sword and Addicks was being used.
The black and white halves is a good idea as it is then distinguishable from other clubs' shirts (stripes could have looked like Newcastle or Notts County, white with black trim like Fulham etc.) and the shield/robin/beach ball crest is classy.
I'll be ordering a M or L, depending on how the sizes come up. Email on the way ...

I will want at least three. Two for kids.
Can there be a choice of logo on the shirts or is that complicating matters and upping the price?
'Covered end choir'
'My only desire'
'We want Roland out'
Fans then choose which one is most relevant to them. ??
Any chance of ' Charlton SE7 ' or ' Charlton Til i die ' ?
If thats the case I'll still be up for two of them. I'll email across shortly.
