Here the official protest kit as advertised in today unofficial match day program. Before anyone asks the obvious questions...no we couldnt use the sword, The Valley, Addicks etc as the club has them trademarked. The design is an acknowledgement of the clubs achievements in the 1940's with the Robin style badge and a nod to the recent beachball protests. We would have loved to have used The Addicks, but the next best Charlton association is of course the Covered End. The team who came up with the design hope you like it, and please give use some idea of how many we should order by emailing us....here is the article from today's excellent unofficial program.
REPLICA PROTEST SHIRT: This is the new official Charlton protest shirt, which we are announcing for the first time today in our latest unofficial matchday programme.
CARD is calling on all Addicks to boycott the club’s official replica kits for next season – and to show their support for the team, but not the regime, by wearing an alternative shirt instead.
The club is likely to announce up to three new shirt designs in the summer, each of which will last just one season. Replica shirts are the major element of Charlton’s merchandise sales.
The CARD-endorsed shirt is of a high quality and utilises the black and white colours worn in the team’s 1947 FA Cup final win over Burnley, which have already been widely adopted by protestors this season in the form of scarves.
Profits from sales will go to the protest fund and a local charity. The shirt will be keenly priced and the intention is to make it available by mail order during the summer.
Further announcements will be made via social media and on the Charlton Life forum. However, it would be really helpful in the meantime to have an idea of the likely demand. To register your interest please email coveredend@gmail.com.
Just one question.
Is this shirt only to be work by those that sit in the North Stand? Otherwise I don't get the relevance of Covered End Choir?
its a prototype...by all means come up with a Charlton relevant slogan, but read the exclusions above first.....Covered End is something we all have some afinity with.

No but it is sung in Valley Floyd Road, but the options were limited with Addicks copyrighted.
My only desire sounds good - reclaiming a phrase the owner and his ********s stole from us. Beach ball a brilliant touch. How about a no sofa symbol somewhere on it (like a no smoking sign). As for shorts and socks - get a black pair of shorts and white socks from sports direct!
Think the colours are right - They are the protest colours.
Just mailed Nug to put me down for three. Might get to four if my niece says she'd like one too.
Would like to wear it to the Supporters Summit at Wembley in mid-July, when I'm likely to be speaking about the OS campaign. (I'm going to ask them if there will also be a slot for the CARD story, in which case someone else who fancies themselves at presenting, will need to come decked in the shirt too)
if anyone is thinking " OK, but what if he does sell soon?", well I know what I will do; I will have it framed and hang it alongside the Valley Party posters and the Back to to the Valley print.
Valley Floyd Road I think would have been better and if the club did try and sue for us for using it could be further fuel for the media to pick up on. Imagine the media attention of their being a protest shirt and then the club trying to stop us using our song.

Believe me Tom all suggestions on here were discussed amongst fans and we were advised on avoiding certain references by qualified people.

Let's get behind this, it's class.
What size are you? I've got a couple of prototypes arriving soon.

Newcastle fans had that problem and had to back down as they were going to be sued.
Put me down for 4, one for me, one each for the kids and one for the old man who hasn't worn a replica shirt since the Admiral days! Will email you now...
Great work but am I the only one to not like the colours?
Opportunity missed with a simple red design. The point is to outsell the replica kit and this would have been achievable with a simple red design.
I must admit my first thoughts were simple red because it was put forward as a 'replica alternative', the main point being to avoid buying the official club one. There are, after all, other protest merchandise offerings already in the protest colours and sporting the CARD logo.
When marketed as a 'Protest Shirt' in it's own right however, then the choice of Black and White does makes more sense. I don't think fans 'indifferent' to the regime, an increasingly small number, would have bought a non official simple red one anyway!
So it serves the purpose well as a protest item and I think is a good design. Not easy to achieve when trying to satisfy the large numbers of people who have expressed their views on this thread. The badge is TOP by the way!
If I wish to wear simple red, I might wear a shirt predating this current regime (they'll get no more money from me!). I'm going for a personal training assessment Monday to come up with a plan to follow during the summer in order to get back in shape!!!
