CASTrust has been extraordinarily patient in trying to encourage the club to talk to us and other fans constructively, since long before last year's public meeting. We have warned the club that they should not underestimate Charlton fans if they don't take it seriously, and we've since had SIO and now CARD showing them exactly what we meant.

If this is a genuine olive branch then it would be churlish not to accept it, but I have to say that it's bloody difficult to believe when the most recent communications from the CEO have hardly been constructive.

It's as if the club has suddenly noticed things aren't right. Well, my gut feel is too little too late, and it lacks those important qualities of sincerity and credibility.

I think everyone including the Belgians would probably be better off if RD sold up and we could all move on.

True and if the club are genuinely concerned then I guess a call will be made to CAST tomorrow morning. Let's see what happens

Surely 'please stop embarrassing us in public' would have made for a shorter and more efficient statement from Roland and Katrien.

Read a club statement in relation to events at The Valley during the match against Middlesbrough on Sunday afternoon

The club is extremely saddened by the situation which has led to supporters demonstrating ahead of, and during, the match against Middlesbrough on Sunday.

Every supporter has the right to voice their opinion and we are determined to do everything we can to work together with supporters to build our relationship with them and make sure they remain at the heart of this club.

We would like to thank supporters for getting behind the team today as we picked up a valuable three points in our fight to stay in the Championship.

Thanks for clearing everything up then. I'll take 10 Season Tickets for next season then. You take Amex?

"we are determined to do everything we can to work together with supporters to build our relationship with them and make sure they remain at the heart of this club"

Yeh, as Murray and Meire have said repeatedly. And every time words have been followed by sweet FA

    Exactly this - another porky.
  • It is exactly what you can expect from this club. They have been embarrassed into it by the television cameras being there. In case they get asked by outside parties they've preempted which is why it is vague and sly once again.

To be honest I think the time for corporation has gone. They have spurned every invite to do the right thing. I think they should be told where to stick it now.

I'm sure this is not a popular view across the board but I don't trust them and think that they will just use this to buy themselves time.

For what it's worth, I agree with you. If it's genuine then we'd have to except and sit down with the woman. No JJ or the other fella Tony south-stand, don't take it up and we'll get the old "we tried" routine. Like you say, l think it's to late.....

I would seriously struggle to trust anything that comes out of KM and/or RD's mouth after everything that's gone on in the last 12 months. Although I'd be interested to hear what they may have to say, I wouldn't believe a word of it.

KM has to go for starters - Every day she remains is treating the fans with contempt. WHen that happens, the fans should talk, with absolutely no promises, but she has to go. Dindn't see Murray on tv coverage btw, was he watching the game?

So tomorrow morning, the Trust can get on the blower and see what Kat wants to do about it all...

No, If the club mean what they say (we know it's total bollocks) then they will be ringing the Trust at 9.01am. The club should be making the first move.

Yes, maybe that would be a good idea. Call their bluff and try to arrange a meeting with Pinocchio. Maybe invite Varney along!!!!

    My thoughts are about 'genuine'.

We have been protesting since before the last home win on November 7th 2015, in the week following that we had the 'power-point' meeting.
We are on a new manager, and protests have been happening continually since then, what's that, more or less four months?

The moment we have to try to sell season tickets, and today after an accidental win, before the post shower talcum powder has even dried on Rod Fanni's pubes, we get this statement.

Forgive me my cynicism, but this doesn't smell of 'genuine' to me.

It doesn't smell genuine to me either.

RD in his video pronouncement continued to promote the idea that fans would participate in developing something called "the matchday experience" which appears in his mind to be totally unconnected with what happens on the pitch. Until he realises that for English "customers" it is all about the football, there is no point in any pseudo-dialogue. And the customers will continue to create their own "matchday experience".

Such a statement like that from the Club simply spurs me on to continue protesting!
Today's protests worked and got under their skin, clearly proving just how we feel.
Now is not the time to sit back. Now is the time to up the pressure on the Belgians.
We do have the right to protest.
We do have the right for our voice to be heard.
All we want is to see our club (yes it is ours as a collective of supporters, not yours) push for promotion to the Premier League and then push for the top of that league.

Bring on the next home game. My guess is that you ain't seen nothin' yet Katrien.....

They're saddened by today's protests? Not by the others that have taken place?
I'm well and truly saddened by what they have done to the club I have supported for the last 40 years. It saddens me that I'm no longer a season ticket holder and can no longer work up the enthusiasm to attend matches, although I don't think that's unique to me.
Looking at the sea of empty seats today, ( watched 2nd half on Sky), I think they, Roland an co, should hang their heads in shame for what they have done.
20 years ago we were a 2nd tier club with ambition, not successful but one that had everyone looking forward to being part of a very special club.
I think we can look forward, sometime soon, to another, "death by PowerPoint presentation " from the Belgiums, presented to the selected few and YouTubed to the customer base.
Bollocks to their statement, they're not having anymore good will or bridge building from me. They are not sad for us or the club, they're saddened because the loss of face they have suffered on Sky today, (I bet sponsors loved it),and also the loss of revenue and asset value that division 3 will bring.

Has this been said yet about them being "saddened" by the protests? We all know who is the face of this regime and unless I was watching a different game on Sky today it would have taken a lot of Andrex to wipe the shit-eating grin off that face judging by how much grinning they were doing. If you're going to claim to be saddened at least sodding pretend to not be laughing!!

So what they need to do is speak to CARD and the Trust. If they are serious about building bridges with the fans.

    As I keep saying

Amazing how they CAN comumicate when they want to........

If I were the trust I'd act like the adult in the situation (not for the first time I'm sure) and reach out to the club in a way that creates a record (email). I'd say something to the effect of "in light of yesterday... Would like to sit down and discuss the state of the club and feelings of the fans." Propose specific times, dates, and venues. If they accept, great. If you get nothing or get the run around, leak it to the press. For me it's win-win.

Bet they got that as a template, just change the date and team...

Nah, it mentioned getting 3 points at the bottom. As if we would need a template like that!
