So the Germans tell the whole world that Refugees are welcome in Germany, football fans put up posters and groups meet incoming trains full of refugees to clap them off. Two weeks later, a flood of refugees overwhelm half of Europe and suddenly freedom of movement is no longer the sacred cow it once was, border controls have been reintroduced, trains are stopped from running. Meanwhile over the newly build fence the Hungarian army tear gas them.
We still oppose Bashar al-Assad, supply the rebels with arms, the war and misery go on!
Next Saturday, there has been called a national day of action in the UK to welcome refugees and protest against the disgraceful response of the UK government in not accepting its fair share of responsibility. The organisers have suggested - among other things - that British football fans take a leaf out of the Germans' book. https://www.facebook.com/events/1629390697300657/
Anyone else think it would be great to see something like this at the Valley for the Rotherham game?
Not all of Germany is like this, try putting up a refugees welcome banner in Dresden or Rostock, was problems at Dortmund game when they put one up too. Not a fan of football and politics mixing and UK fans jumping on the hipster bandwagon, 90% properly don't wen understand what's going on. Silly to bring banners like those to game in England like some CAFC did as people think whole fan base thinks the same
