Yes only one game but has a precedence been set? Bigger clubs may see this and think that they'll request more tickets as Charlton will bend over to accommodate.

Imagine end of next season, say Norwich are in for promotion and ask for 6, 7, 8, 9 10,000 tickets as we have the capacity.

I have to agree with this.

And the other factor to take into consideration is that this is the FINAL match of our season when fans like to wish those they've sat with for the past 9 months a happy hols etc. & chat over what might have been if only .......

We're not just numbers. We are real people ! ( Well, most of us...)

It is half of the Upper West, but my impression has always been that many more people sit in the northern half than the southern half.

The Southern half, specially the far blocks is very empty

the a block of the East has been sold out all season. That's usually only about a quarter full.
  • Even more Bournemouth hearts to break - would love a last minute winner/equaliser sending them into the playoffs

That's an odd attitude Yann, don't you want to play in the Premier League ?

Will be monumentally annoyed if they invade the pitch - especially after the effort the club went to stop us invading it 2011/12

Well I hope the ones in the JS don't, but I'd love to see an attempted pitch invasion from the Upper West.
I expect with some of the cliffs along the south coast there will be some experienced a absailers amongst the Bournemouth contingent

Having looked at the T&C's I assume the club will use section 14, i.e. 'If the specified seat is unavailable for use due to a club decision or an intervention by the licensing authority or governing body, the club will use all reasonable efforts to relocate the season-ticket holder, provided they have complied with current ground regulation'.

I assume that would cover any ground development or safety issue but not when my seat is unavailable because the club have decided to give it to somebody else.

A club decision surely could mean giving more seats to away fans. Not sure why people want to be awkward about this. If we were Bournemouth, we would hope we could be accommodated, and the situation when we need some goodwill from them may be sooner rather than later.
  • Just had my ticket in Upper West, block Q moved. Received £15 in food and drink vouchers as compensation. What I don't like and agree with other comments is that this could be a precedence for next season. For this reason I have moved my ticket for 2015/16 season to block P (£100 more), so I can avoid away fans (like Leeds supporters) and the inconvience of moving again.
I suppose this was one disadvantage of buying a £250 season ticket!
  • On a serious note, by offering these tickets we can "police" over spill of fans from the Jimmy Seed. Random pockets of Bournemouth fans celebrating or just supporting could get things to turn nasty. Even in the Upper West I have seen Charlton fans get pretty irate at other fans celebrating.

I'm hoping Bournemouth drop points tomorrow and it forces them to really come at us, our pace on the break could well undo them. On the other hand Feancis to Kermogant could make their day.

  • This thread is a bit like being back at School.
  • Finally had my call this afternoon.

The £15 voucher per person is only valid for the one game apparently. Struggling to think what I'm gonna do with three of these (mine, my dads and my sons) so looks like the beers will be on me if anyone wants to claim one!
  • if the situation were reversed and we were away to say Wigan and we'd sold out their away end and were begging for more tickets in one of their side stands, how would we feel if they said no cause they had to relocate a few hundred ST holders in a ground with 10k empty seats?

people would be spitting blood on here if they refused.

    exactly

Only to find that they've upped the prices for the day and a packet of fruit gums costs ....... £15!
  • With many having £15 vouchers burning a hole in their pockets, the queues will be massive and they will probably run out of everything.

We've had this conversation loads of times but can someone give me a real and important reason why sitting in the exact same seat every week - especially in a less than full area - is quite so important ?

Why go to football in the first place? It's not that important.

Not when you can be whoring yourself out and doing anything for a quick extra pound note.
    What does that mean ?
It means that some of the comments on here seem to be that as long as there's extra cash involved then anything goes.

Sometimes there are other things more important than money. Not sure if this is one of them, but I don't like the dismissive attitude of some when they see a pound sign.
    Throw me some examples please
  • It'll be interesting to see what happens if people turn up not knowing about this and try to take their usual seat.
  • Food vouchers?
    What's the menu?

Examples of what? Read back the thread, there are plenty.

You had 1,400 Bournemouth fans bussed in to your school?
    It was tough in Stepney

Got mine today, now I am a bit p***** off. You have to collect the bloody coupons from the Covered End box office.

Why could they not bloody well enclose the coupons in the envelope, ridiculous.
  • Can you donate your vouchers to the Upbeats?

Guess this Saturdays round of fixtures will determine whether our match is chosen for Sky next week... as they'll surely pick between Bournemouth / 'Boro / Watford

Do they usually have two Championship games or just the one for the final day?

There may be relagation battles too. They may pick one of those.

I reckon it will be two promotion games. They will want the celebtation somewhere.

I agree, it's probably done to discourage people to claim the vouchers. The bribe is not worth having.

The cynic in me tends to agree with you, but of course they will come out with some rubbish to justify this.
  • I won't be claiming them, in fact I won't be going to the match and also having thoughts about giving up supporting them.
