    Nervous.

    Good luck Peanuts.

Fairly convinced you will have success.

Fully convinced it will be the ones I didn't back!

    Still got time to back'em.

Few £'s E/W on Balthazar's King. However, it is the National so anything can happen.

I've done Oscar, CDR and Druids off Peanuts, also chucked in Godsmejudge for family sentiment, and wife picked out First Luitenant.

That all points to Soll, Portrait King, dolatulo and Monpeg Dude !

Well done to Many Clouds but I couldn't see that after the Gold Cup when I backed him but not of course today!

Thought it was too dry for the dude... Backed the rest so cant eat for a month. Robbed by terrible jumping at the end

Should have amen Monbeg Dude. Oh well, just Shutthefrontdoor as a placed e/w bet, probably lost money this year, but only a few quid. First time I haven't at least broke even for 4 or 5 years so was due. Rainbow Hunter and particularly Druids we're going pretty well until that pesky fence came out of nowhere and tripped em over.

Thanks for all the insight again Peanuts, look forward to doing it all again next year.

Oscar Time gave a good account of himself again and Chance Du Roy looked like he was running on late
  • Ended up a little up because of the Dude. Cheers PM, great thread as every year.

Cheers for the comments Chaps – sorry we didn’t score the winner
A 10% profit for my book and hope others did likewise – thought the Dude was so unlucky early but ran a blinder – great ride by Treadwell.
Biggest weight (11.09) carried to win since Red Rum and by first 8y-o winner for 13 years. Amazing win - congratulations to Trevor Hemmings.
By far the fastest of the x3 GNs over 35.5f. Approx 15.07 secs per furlong - that's a quicker pace than the disastrous 2012 and only 1 GN has been run at a faster pace since 1996. Hmmm. Food for thought.
Shame that Druids had jumped all the big ones and just lost his footing at one of the easier ones - was going really well.
PK ran well before falling and Oscar Time ran out of gas - age did indeed tell on such fast ground.
Have to watch a replay to see what happened to the others - CDR was nearer at the finish than I'd expected because he either made mistakes or got hampered or both to set him a long way back.

Cheers peanuts. I would've been up by £3.75 but for chucking a fiver on Balleycasey for my mrs. Without your insight I wouldn't have got my stake back, plus my double on Thurs so I'm still up £100 quid on aintree. Many thanks

Sorry if it was me that put you off him Chief - he was rated to make the frame on Good but on ground quicker than last year I certainly didn't expect he could run better than that - could have won it with more luck and/or any kind of juice in the ground.
