  • Farage has said that no ex member of the BNP will be allowed to join UKIP. Very smart.

Labour don't ban former communist party members from joining them. Peter Mandelson is an ex red shirt.
    What's your point ?

Labour could have taken the lead in banning dangerous extremists. They have declined to do so.

It's a shame that people like chizz kept so quiet about this for so long.
Dangerous extremists ! The British Communist Party. Lol

I suggest that you study the history of Russia 1916-1989 abd Eastern Europe 1945-1989
Comparing Lenin, Stalin, the Russian revolution and the rise of the USSR to the British Communist Party is like comparing Real Madrid with Welling Utd.

Did you have similar concerns over Woolfie and the Tooting Popular Front ?

For years and years the British communist party(ies) were bankrolled by Stalin and his successors and the KGB ... how many people died in the Gulags due to the traitorous activities of (e.g.) Burgess, McLean, Blunt will never be known and what can never be truly calculated is the irreparable damage done to British industry by 'red robbo' and other militant so called trade unionists.
The thought of little twerps like these ever coming to power in the UK is a truly awful prospect.

By the same argument, The BNP never wanted to invade Poland.
  • Powerrrrr to the peopleeeee
  • Another seat for UKIP. The top 3 need to raise their game and when you promise to do something do it. We are all fed up with your lies hence this morning's result

Lib Dems got 350 votes, relegated from the top three on that return.
  • Only half the people voted though
  • There's not a single one of the these parties I'd vote for right now. Self serving pigs the lot of them.
  • Only half the people voted though

Less than that vote in general elections so it's actually a more representative result than a general election.

Emily Thornberry showing exactly what Labour thinks of the working classes. Shame.

    Incorrect.

2010 General Election had 65% turnout - up 4% from 2005 - and the highest turnout since 1997.
  • Locals interviewed on TV as to why they voted UKIP.
" Because there's too many of em over ere" and " We need to send em all ome".
Interviewer " So you think UKIP will send them all home?"
"Yep cos they said they will".

Must be a long way down from that pedestal.

I will refer back to this post in a year or so when it happens.

At the moment UKIP have a real chance of getting a fair few seats (Sky bet are not even offering to take bets on the 5 or more that I put on.... They will win probably 5 to 12 seats, and that is where they will have difficulties.

Farage as a personality seems to alienate a lot of people close to him as he constantly wants to be in the limelight (I can somewhat understand this given the insanity of some of his members) and eventually with this many high profile characters in UKIP, there will be a big falling out and they will implode on themselves.

    That's my prediction.

And another thing, it is things like that woman tweeting a picture of a mans van and St.George's flags and negatively stereotyping him that drives people to UKIP. It's like the 3 main parties don't want to compete.

So, more than a third didn't vote? Void the results retrospectively.

Labour politicians asked why they lost:

*nothing to say but will tweet a picture of a house with an England flag and a white van outside*

Discrimination at its finest I'd say.

  • Vote Quimby

How very dare you! Take that back!

No prizes for guessing that the Labour politician concerned is a typical, upper class, toff socialist - even represents Islington. You couldn't make it up.

Does Labour have ANY politicians, at all, who aren't a walking disaster zone?

They've just voted the same bloke back in with a different coloured rosette - nothing will change down there, they'll realise and he'll be gone again before you know it.

What a stupid thing to say. He's been the MP there for four years now and voted in twice. The good people of Rochester and Strood obviously have some faith in the man.
  • Well done UKIP.

What a great night for UKIP. Not only the expected by-election win but the resignation of a bigoted Labour MP too. I don't know who's got the bloodiest nose, labour, the Tories or the out of touch Lib Dems.
  • Sod them all I hate politics right now. I'd love to see a black, female, disabled, working class priminister just once just too prove we don't have a nation of bigots.
  • I had to look at the tweeted pic for a while before I realised what it was meant to be.

What a crass and stupid thing to do. Not only is it insulting and bigoted but she's taken some of the pressure off the tories.

The Cons are about to lose a seat that they said they would "throw the kitchen sink" and expected to win. So she gifts the tory press another story on the night of the election. At least she stepped down but what an idiot.

Back to UKIP. Taking labour and Lib Dem votes but Conservative seats.

Will be interesting to see which other MPs resign now. Reckless was the sitting MP and so always had a good chance to hold his seat. How many will be thinking whether to go now or wait for the general election.
  • Bob Neill in Bromley had a 600 majority in 2006 - squeaky bum time coming up !
  • Whitevanst.georgeflaggate in Rochester just shows Labours real issue. The elitist, intellectual hierarchy in today's Labour Party are simply out of touch with what should be their core voters. Real working class people just cannot find anything to relate to when it comes to Milliband, Balls and this stupid woman from a £3m town house in Islington.
  • There are more Labour party members living in Hampstead than Sunderland. I think that tells you all you need to know about the Labour party these days.
