Like the link above - UKIP supporters with their natural best pals from the far right. I am surprised Nick Griffin hasn't joined them yet as he has now been kicked out of the BNP.
A poll in Rochester & Strood this week gives UKIP a 48% share of the vote.
The poll puts support for UKIP on 48 per cent, with the Conservatives on 33, Labour, who came second in 2010, on 16 per cent, the Greens on two percent and the Lib Dems on just one per cent.
A opinion poll in December 1981 gave the then newly formed SDP/Liberal alliance 50.5% of the national vote (and then what happened?) - so don't get too excited....
rel="Fiiish">Labour tooting their trumpet over winning a by-election of an elected position they would abolish if in government.
I never really got those election. Don't all the candidates say they are against crime and for law and order? How do you choose? I guess most people think the same as me abd don't bother.
A decade ago this might not have been the case? Exceptions, obviously, but its the same for all of em.
From Gruaniad 2004 Maureen Stowe, the Burnley councillor who left the British National party in February, has joined Labour in the wake of last week's local government election.
and this year it's not the only party who need to tread carefully... Telegraph 2014 Simon Danczuk MP: 'Labour's militant left no better than BNP' The militant left of the Labour Party threaten social cohesion, espouse the politics of the madhouse and are no better than the BNP, writes Simon Danczuk MP.
and A Conservative candidate for a South Kesteven District Council by-election is a former British National Party activist. Dr Peter Moseley was selected to fight the single-member Aveland ward after the resignation of Conservative councillor Debbie Wren in January because of work commitments. Wren had been elected in 2011 with a large majority.
and again, this year Will Straw, son of Jack Straw, gets support from ex-BNP member for his bid to be an MP Will Straw, the son of a former Labour Home Secretary who is bidding to become an MP, has received the official backing of an ex-BNP organiser.

Yeah but why would you let the truth get in the way of a good argument?

Farage has said that no ex member of the BNP will be allowed to join UKIP. Very smart.
The only party to have to ban former BNP members from joining
How would anyone know who was or was not a member of the BNP or any other political party for that matter?
The data are private.
Does that mean that the UKIP membership application form says: "Are you or have you ever been a member of the BNP"?
That's like assuming 13-year-old boys answer honestly when asked by 4oD to confirm "I'm over 18 and can watch this programme even though it's got rude bits in it"
Farage has said that no ex member of the BNP will be allowed to join UKIP. Very smart.
Labour don't ban former communist party members from joining them. Peter Mandelson is an ex red shirt.
What's your point ?
Labour could have taken the lead in banning dangerous extremists. They have declined to do so.
It's a shame that people like chizz kept so quiet about this for so long.
I'm very flattered that you think my views might have been so influential. But let me ask something - which "dangerous extremists" should - and could - have been banned from joining Labour?

The only party that has to - hasn't stopped them shamelessly courting ex BNP voters.
...and Labour voters and Tory voters ad LibDem voters............
Change the record.
Indeed " repeat - we are a non - racist party " (in case anyone gets confused by the policies ) " We won't accept ex BNP members" ( but if you are racist and voted for a unashamedly racist party then welcome aboard).
"We psychologically screen our candidates" ( in case we recruit too many closet racists and fruitcakes)
No other party can claim all of theses things - No other party needs to!

The point is that no other mainstream party is this paranoid about potential recruits and the reason is that lots of dodgy extreme racists with unpalatable views join UKIP as members- Hardly a week goes by without some candidate or other making some objectionable statment or other.

Then you can see and possibly even understand that all the parties, even your glorious socialists, need to look out for BNP links. All parties try to some extent to filter extremists, even the BNP themselves! Why on earth do you think this is just a UKIP thing?
The only political meeting I was ever expelled from was one run by those lovely chaps from Militant back in the 80's.
Not keen on extremists.
Eh? Me neither. #confusedirrelavance
