Buyens was a liability (yet again), and should have been subbed at half-time. Shocking to keep him on and sub Jacko.
We seem to have no confidence going forward, everything we do is so laboured it's painful.
No-one looked like they wanted to be there. Vetokele reminded me of JFH. Yes he scored a good head, then could not be arsed. SO LAZY. Once Jacko went off, no leadership, no players talking to each other, nothing from the manager.
Cousins was playing so well, then yet again he puts him on the left. Glad he's ok (above).
Quite expecting a Birmingham win from 20 mins onwards, and they would have deserved it. We were abject.
First time I've seen anyone call Vetokele lazy. Disappointing if true.
Would it be fair to say people are getting frustrated because from the last few home games, its 'been there' for us to go on and win games yet we seem to take our foot off the gas and not really chase the win ?
Glad we are not losing, that's a given, but keep leaving The Valley frustrated.
Morrison fitted in v well, again the defence was our strength. Buyens worst game so far. Vetokele again isolated and not able to play to his strengths. All three subbed were from pre-Peeters. Moussa adds something as a sub.
As for Tuca Khan, I don't think the fella did a single thing right from when he come on.
Brilliant start to season, buy I think the break has come at the right time.
Why put cousins back on the left after we score. Fucking shocking decision. His persistent on playing cousins there has cost us. We could be pissing this league if it wasn't for that.
I think it's pretty clear that he was trying to nullify Cotterill who was getting far too much time and space and looking dangerous every time he got the ball.
We looked like a team that had defended for its life for 90+ minutes midweek - knackered.
Buyens had a stinker and unfortunately Morrison isn't in TBH's league.
Keep on saying it, but Igor needs some help. I'm pretty sure he was carrying an injury, he looked uncomfortable in the warm up.
Easily the worst 90mins I have seen this season and still far better than the dross served up for most of last season.

Not true at all. He just lacks support and Bulot is not the one to give it to him.

Once Jacko went off we had a 2-minute spell of fluent possession that ended in a corner, and we largely dominated the game thereafter. While Jacko was on the field, we looked absolutely desperate. After the substitution, Buyens suddenly had a football transplant and went from a bumbling sack of uselessness to a midfield dominator. I'm not saying, but I'm saying.
If you call being able to spread the ball wide to an unmarked team-mate about 4 times in a 2-minute-spell a 'midfield dominator' then good luck to you!
another point against a team that is starting to find some away form .. our present tactics are better suited to playing away from home .. average 2 points a game for the rest of the season ? .. that'll do for me

Can anyone seriously dispute that Buyens started playing really well (after, I agree, a true & indisputable 55-minute nightmare) when Jacko went off? That is my only question.

He didn't start playing 'really well', he stopped giving the ball to the opposition so much. Blame Jacko if you want, but stretching it to his fault when teammates pass to the oppo is a bit much.
We looked good with the 4-2-3-1 we started with matching Brum but after the goal seemed to go 442 to match them and lost any shape, passing was sloppy, buyins being the worst culprit but the whole team lacked spark.
We improved after their goal but it could have gone either way.
Henderson MOTM
Solly and Bikey OK, Morro slotted in well but maybe could have blocked the goal, harsh perhaps.
I think the injuries (JBG), lack of support for Igor and the thin squad are going to test us.
It wasnt pretty to watch. That's not a dig at Peeters as it is results that matter but it just isn't right now.
But we are in the race and are hard to beat.
Bumpy ride but we are still going forward.
Home crowd just under 14k
And what was that brum throw in?
Glad jC is OK. International break to rest and repair the walking wounded and TBH will be back.
Out of all the midfielders (as far as creativity goes) I thought Bulot was our best in that department and thought he had a decent game. Reading some of the comments on here, it seems like I'm part of a very small minority...........
@E-cafc has a point, but I think today was a feet back on the ground experience. We'll have had a good season if we successfully avoid getting involved in a relegation dogfight and it's still "so far so good". If we think of ourselves as Play-Off contenders we are going to be disappointed by both results and performances.
After a bright start, during which we passed the ball patiently, we fell away and allowed Birmingham to dominate. It was no surprise when they equalised. Credit to Lee Clark. He appears to have put together a neat and tidy side on a shoestring.
As others have said, we looked poor at times with Buyens in particular often wasteful in possession. We often lacked quality when in good positions.
We are clearly a work in progress. Peeters obviously wants to play a very different style to that which both we and the "legacy" players have been used to. It will take time to complete this adjustment and some of the players won't make it. We need to stay patient.
Michael Morrison did well today, but Ben Haim and Gudmundsson would have made a difference had they been available. Bulot and Moussa again showed that they have something to offer, but Tucudean really doesn't look the part, unfortunately.
Unfortunately the answer to both is No ! We so badly need someone to play with Igor. The tactic of just sitting back and conceding possession to the opposition is tedious to watch, and we are not really good enough to do it. I know this negative. We should praising Bob, but with just one more player we could turn the answer to those questions to a Yes !
All about opinions ain't it, just thought he was poor, free kick in the second half great position he decided to shoot, a cross in the second half from a good position over hit for a goal kick. Just things that stick in the memory regardless of the assist. Overall thought we were poor, need new striker ASAP if we are to stay where we currently are. Moussa should be starting IMO
Not the best game Ive seen but by no means the worse. Credit must be given to Brum for taking the game to us. We never got out of out of second gear and look knackered with some erratic passing. I would love to see us play an expansive game and thump teams 5-0 every week but that doesn't happen in the real world. 4 points in a week and still undefeated into mid October, I'd have taken that back in July.
We need a Plan B. Watford, Derby, Wigan and Birmingham all stood off us in the first 15 minutes, allowed us to play at our own pace and we absolutely dominated. As soon as they started to press we lose any sort of invention and ability to hold onto the ball.
Still, 6th in the table and unbeaten after 11, I'm putting myself in the 'well happy' camp.

Said this to myself on the drive home. There's a lot that's good with us. Personally I feel the main issue is a general lack of tempo when we have the ball. Without we look excellent, but we're so ponderous in possession, epitomised by Buyens who now needs 3 touches before he plays it to an opponent.
We retook the initiative when we swapped to a 442, and upped the tempo but sadly today was equally about a poor final ball.
Felt sorry for Jacko today, who was our best midfielder before he was subbed. Morro was perfectly fine and his passing was light years ahead of Buyens's. As for those saying Igor was lazy, what game were you guys watching?
Felt like a defeat after such a good start and I blame buyens as being a creative midfielder he made barely 2 or 3 decent creative passes and what concerns me is why he was not substituted and I just hope peeters does not have any favourites that he likes to keep on the pitch even when they are playing poorly. Jackson was righly frustrated to be taken off. I thought everyone else had a good game and Tuesday had made us deflated
This is a very even division, and it's easy to think before a game that the opposition because they're nearer the bottom are there for the taking. In fact Birmingham were very good today, Clark has done a good job with that team. Donaldson showed very good movement, too often he ended up being marked by Solly which is not what you want with crosses...

Think the international break will do us good.
Come on.
Dull game, we lacked urgency.
Lifeless crowd and game but a point is a point.
Buyins poor again.
