We lost the middile after about 30 mins in imo. Thought wiggins had a torid afternoon but stuck with it and Solly got better as the game wore on. Lost something from the team when Gudmunson went off as he is a quality player. Lucky to get the win but hey ho I'll take the 3 points thankyou and we still look like a work in progress, need to bring in a midfielder and a striker.
Wiggins was back to his best - really cant remember a better left back we have ever had
Apologies. I love Wiggins, met him a couple of times and he's a smashing bloke.
But he's been skinned every game this season and was again a few times on Saturday.
If you go regularly, you will see, he's definitely lost a yard of pace, since his injuries and if Damien Matthew reckons he's fully fit then I'm not sure how he will recover that pace.
He is definitely the weak link in the defense and is getting targeted by the opposition, with balls played in behind him & players taking him on and beating him for pace.
As for best left back. I presume you're joking. Chris Powell, Scott Minto, Anthony Barness, Paul Koncheskey, Mark Reid (that's without even thinking).
Was in the ground earlier than normal and watched the warm up. Did anyone else see JBG take one straight in the knackers during one of those piggy in the middle type games? he was flat out for a good couple of minutes and clearly winded. Doubt it was anything to do with his eventual injury withdrawal but it couldn't have done him any good.
He went off with a groin injury, so I reckon you're right. He had an ankle injury from midweek.
I agree with nearly all the comments. I'd just like to add, that at our level, I think we are playing like Chelsea have done for a few seasons.
When up against better teams, we are happy to concede possession and sit back, with 2 banks of 4 and concede little space, making it hard to break us down.
We've beaten Wigan, Derby and Watford and drawn at Brighton, who all have stronger squads than us.

So who knows what we can achieve.
Very well done all.
Wow ! Comparing us to Chelsea now ! We have come a long way..
Never forget how bloody well we played against Wigan and Derby. We did it with initiative, right from the kick-off - we did it with our speed of mind and body, our rehearsed team-play, and our instinct and adventure. We put our opponents on the back foot.
That was our benchmark for the whole season. For us to drop back now - to defend and hope for a break - is going backwards both physically and mentally. Our players have proved they are perfectly capable of the fluent forward play to beat any team in this division.
Aggression can be learned - demanded, actually, not only by us on the terraces but also by our coaches and managers. This is my fiftieth season of watching Charlton. With our good team today, there is no reason whatsoever why we shouldn't storm through this league.
I remember Palace coming to kick Lee Bowyer off the park when we played them at the Valley in the league match in the 1995/96 season. I think Palace picked up six bookings, at least five of which were for clogging Bowyer. The tactics were clear - stop him and you stop Charlton.
Remember Paul Mortimer getting hacked down in the box in the last minute for a blatant penalty which amazingly the ref waved play on! Absolute stonewall!

And as you say, CE, credit where credit's due.
