Great news. Looks like he's mustard, and boy do we need mustard for the forthcoming season. Getting very hopeful now - going to be interesting one way or the other, that's for sure.

Are you trying to merge this thread with Guilty pleasures?
nahhh, nothn' guilty about that pointers corker!:>)
Don't know of him but seems like a step up in signing. If he was being scouted at 5m I wonder what we paid. I like what I'm seeing that RD is doing. Of course, we have to see them gel on the field yet and Big Bob is still an unknown quantity for us. Definitely all this is a step in the right direction though.
Can't wait for the season to start to see how we do.
I found this quote from the player himself very telling..
"“I heard of the interest a few weeks ago and obviously I’m on a free transfer so there were a lot of things happening, but in the end I decided to go with Charlton."
Obviously we were just one of a number of clubs hoping to secure his signature. He must have been convinced enough by RD's vision to have chosen us.
Incidentally I have many Icelandic mates here in Copenhagen and they all say he is a quality player. They were quite surprised he wasn't snapped up by a lower/mid table Premiership club.
Wow! Not mucking about now are we? Silly to weigh him down with too much expectation but he does look genuinely exciting. Now have several positive players who can go past people and make defenders uncomfortable in him, Moussa, Vetokele, and Harriott. O'Grady would probably have complimented them all nicely but it opens the door for someone who wants to be here instead.
Yeah he rejected a new contract at AZ and was out of contract this summer for a new challenge. Not going to say anything...
at least he played nearly 150 games for AZ before seeking a new challenge not just 20 although they have still missed out on a fee of course but can hardly claim to have developed him anyway. perhaps we should bung Chelsea and Fulham a few quid ....

Do we know for sure that the O'Grady deal is 100% dead in the water now?
Interesting signing. Positive on initial thoughts, though its pretty easy to be seduced by compilation clips.
Looks like a 433 man rather than a winger. At the moment i'm struggling to see where everyone fits. Still think we are missing the 'line leader' up top, which JBG, Reza, Igor, Church would play off. Pretty sure it won't be Polish Pete, expect that one to come in still.
Could have some potential pace on the counter next season.
Great signing. 6 or 7 (hopefully) good players , some of the young players signed up on contracts , investment in Sparrows lane and fantastic looking pitch with The Valley looking great.
I'm really looking forward to the new season , i can't remember the last time things looked so good for Charlton.
The fact that recent players signed have PL or Europa or even Champs League experience is brilliant considering the recent stature of the club and where it finished last season. They must all have been sold a very positive vision. Certainly encouraging and with the majority of the pre-season still to go I hope we can hit the ground running fast and hard. More signings to come I have read... GK, target man and creative CM is what we all hope for.
What? The YouTube footage shows 1 thing - he is class. He gets into good areas and he scores bloody good goals. My only question - why isn't he in the Premier League?
As much as his goal compilations are rather tasty - we need to bear in mind that he is not that prolific a goalscorer. He just seems to get worldy's when he does score!

(Unless you jest?)
As @Swisdom said he's not a prolific goalscorer, and what about the rest of his game, is that Prem standard?
On his interview on CAFC Player he talks about playing regularly. I think that was probably very important to him, but with a 2 year deal he keeps his options open.

Underwhelmed.

But they've been nearly always spectacular goals, right out of the blue.
What we may have signed is not so much a goalscoring winger - but a player who can change a game with a moment of brilliance.
We don't want to heap too much pressure on him
