@SportsPitchEng: Finishing touch with @greenfieldsport #greenfieldsmx at The Valley pitch runoffs http://t.co/oFxSuUmIAI

Looking great can't wait to get back to the valley !

Not sure who's taken Paddy's place, but was he pissed when he mowed the grass??? Look at those wobbly lines!!! ;)
If you look down at it from the Directors box ... Paddy has actually written "C••ts" in the pitch hence the lines looking so strange ;)

Yeah, love this sort of update.

Painting the steps also really brightens up the place.

That ground is going to look absolutely fantastic when we play Wigan in our first home game.
I just hope our first team in as good "nick"!
Surely it must inspire them to play and WANT to play when they set foot on that pitch.
I can't wait to get down there again!!!!

I can't believe people even debated the seed v turf issue. From what I know about Charlton, there was no way they'd use turf.

At least unless Jimmy Turf takes over as manager, gets two successive promotions, a top-two finish in the Premier League and wins the FA Cup.

Until then, it's always got to be seed.

Sounds like typical stupidity from the football league. Our "Special Dispensation" for a new pitch results in 3 home games in a week at the beginning of the season.

amazing how different the East looked with brighly painted steps, pitch should look great - especially with the crests around the outside.

I presume the special dispensation was having the away game first - then the way the fixtures work - you get two home games. The Colchester cup game was a draw and couldn't be fixed.

Something I would like is Handrails in the middle of the steps in all stands, not just the upper parts, some other grounds have them.

Doesn't seem like much in the way of dispensation anyway. Still, the Valley is starting to look shiny. Quite looking forward to the new season!

Just needs some huge inflatable swords to whoosh up behind the goals when we score, and with our current squad that would retain novelty value for quite some time.

Beginning to look like it should - well done RD.

I'm looking forward to seing it but I'm looking forward more to not seeing a single bright shiny new red seat due to sell-out crowds at all Prem games.

dream, dream dream ... all I have to do is ......

Might have looked good if the astroturf was red - but still looks pretty tasty.

amazing how different the East looked with brighly painted steps,

Also noticed they've installed a barbed wire fence to seperate the right end block of the stand. Anyone know the reason for this?

Strongly recommend people watch the video with the groundsman. You can see the work to paint the yellow steps, lovely read seats, the pitch etc

Also like the sound of the cafc crest and swords at various intervals in the AstroTurf too. Could be quite impressive to see
