A few people on here are defending Harriott's performance based on the fact he was played on the wrong wing. I'm sorry, but this cannot be allowed to stand. Harriott's problem wasn't that he was a left footed player being asked to do a right footer's job, it's that he was failing to meet the most basic requirements of his job. Solly played the ball up the line, Callum let it dribble out for a throw. Cousins played the ball across the midfield, Callum let it dribble out of play. A great cross came in for Callum to put away (or at least get on target) a totally free header, Callum glances it off the pitch. Callum gets the chance to play a simple ball, knocks it to their left back, who the Barnsley fan I was with said is a total liability. Harriott's performance was one of the worst I've seen, and I hate digging out our players, but amongst the breathtaking incompetence of that match, his inability to perform basic motor functions was astonishing.
'scuse my french but fucking spot on. All this bollocks about him being played on the right wing does not give you an excuse to give the ball away, fail to head a ball properly, fail to control a ball and basically fail to do the basics of anything. But hey, he maybe alright in League one.
On his day Hamer is a quality keeper but is prone to some ropey performances. It's only a fortnight ago he he was our penalty save hero. Yes should have done a wee bit better with the second. I can only assume he thought it was going to clear.

I doubt Solly will play Friday. Hence why Lawrie was on bench. He may do, depends on his knee reaction, but I'd be surprised. Toss up between Fox, Lennon or Evina...
Wrong team selection, wrong tactics, wrong game plan and wrong substitutions.....full house again.
Who is doing the opposition scouting reports? Opposition Set Plays.. Corners from the left...pick up M'voto man for man and block off his run. Basic defensive organisation.

Very harsh. Riga has little significant management ability so he's learning on the job. Give him a couple of seasons and he'll be up to Division 2
To top it off the Charlton tickey office left a voicemail with a 'lose your tickets or pay extra £46 as your tickets are no longer a restricted view' They'll be getting a send my cheque back call this morning.
How can it no longer be a restricted view? Are they knocking down the offending pillar or something?

I've had the seat for 6 years and always been a reduced price seat. There is a barrier in front of the seat that means I have to hunch my back to see corners in the North East. Still the same, just decided to re categorise this season?
Long with others in the players marks and post match views threads I didn't think that Sordell and Obika played that badly, the effort was there but sadly the end product wasn't. They are the best of a bad bunch IMO, Church has had his chance and Pigott is just not ready. They are all poor so why play more than one of them especially one with very little experience at this level. Obika is the stronger hold up player with a bit of pace of the lot and does win a header, it's Hobson's choice though I'm afraid. Maybe play Obika up front, NOT on the left, with Reza just behind in a 4-4-1-1 or go 4-5-1 as follows given no other injuries apart from Wiggins.
I understand what you are saying, but how many times will you put your hand in the fire before you realise you have to do something different ? Yes Joe might seem to be a gamble, but we know what we will get from the usual bunch. Play Joe in front of Astrit, play to his strengths to feet, and pick up his runs down the channels. If we don't win a game quickly it's going to be League One for us, let's make a brave decision with someone who has proved that he can find the net.

I never put my hand in the fire @Granpa because I was taught that if you play with fire you will get burnt. I was also warned once bitten twice shy! You seem to have a soft spot for young Joe maybe he is a relative or your Grandson, I don't know but in pure footballing ability at this level right now he is not ready which is what the coaching staff thought otherwise he would not have been sent out on loan to Gillingham would he and he didn't exactly pull up any trees there did he? Why did we bring him back? I don't know but probably because he is another body and we failed to sign enough loanee forwards before the window closed. He rarely wins a header, does not have a turn of pace and struggles with his hold up play from what I have seen at this level. However no one would be happier than me if he scores the goals to keep us up but I'm not going to put my house on it. You said you respected my opinion at the start of this exchange and I respect yours but this man is not for turning and we shall have to beg to differ.

Strange idea to reclassify such seats, but even stranger to do it after selling the seat, if that's what you're saying?
Read ALL posts...............feel like hanging myself !!!
Me too. Didn't have much to do at work this afternoon so I spent over two hours reading all eleven pages and now my eyes hurt so badly, but still not much as my heart does. Before reading all the posts I was hoping there were some positives out of this game but now I can't remember reading any apart from someone mentioning that the pitch is starting to look better... Absolutely gutted that Wiggins is out for the rest of the season.
Before this relentless two games a week run I was worried how our small squad would cope but at the same time I felt somewhat excited about it as I would have something to look forward to almost every three days. Now I dread to think how many more defeats we'll suffer and whether we'll still be above the relegation zone come May. I just wish the season was over....
One big difference Iv read on here twitter and Facebook , when we lost under Powell it was never he's fault it was the teams , lose under Riga and people want him gone saying he's tactically useless ect , he's dealing with a team playing twice a week every week he has to make changes , but regardless it's all he's fault but was never powells and unfortunately he'll never be accepted every time we lose a game ( fickle ).
You're clearly reading things as you want to. Either that or your rose tinteds are also blinkered. There were many people saying Powell was at fault and many saying the squad wasn't good enough, including me. Now some are saying Riga's crap but many of us are still saying the squad isn't good enough.
Only at the end did Powell ever get criticised ,only ever see it on into the valley ! Fact
Ignoring the fact that he was getting criticism by some the first season he was with us and during the season we won the league and the first season back in the Championship, then yes your point is clearly absolute fact.
Red Chaser, as you say we beg to differ, but above all thank you for conducting a difference of opinion in a pleasant manner. Joe is a very good friend of my grandson, but I have to admit that it was the cool way in which he finished three chances at Welling in the first half that I can't forget. Yes it was at a lower level, but once the chance has been created, it has to be finished. Yann was the creater that day, and I am visualising Astrit doing a similar job for him. At the end of the day, you and I are on the same side. Let's hope that it's a winning side.

Powell always got it in the neck when we lost. Plenty of "Powell out", "Powell's football is terrible" threads. There seemed to be this idea that replacing the manager would make us a better team and it's highly debatable that we are. Some areas have improved, others have got worse but I don't think anybody can argue that our squad isn't worse now than at the start of January.
Precisely. And RD makes this mistake a lot, it turns out. He over-estimates the effect a manager can have on a squad that is obviously substandard. He's not the only chairman in the world to make that mistake, of course. It's odd though that he is a stats man, but ignores the stats which show that sacking managers has not usually brought about the benefits expected. One such study about the FAPL was released just a few days ago.
I think perhaps he called it right and that is perhaps why fans were calling for Riga to stay just a few weeks after you posted this. Mind you I thought he had called it right as early as the draw away to Millwall so not just hindsight. Not sure the squad was ever sub standard just struggling to find the net until the last few games.

(Seriously, if you think Powell was only getting criticism at the end and only on Into The Valley, you really haven't been paying attention)
