  • Looking at the list I doubt Vorm will go to a Championship club, I am sure there would be plenty of takers if he did want a loan spell
  • Joining West Ham... Under Sam Allardyce... There's not much learning to be done there - so you would have at least thought he'd been guaranteed game time.

    You are a wally, Diego.
  • I'd love Vorm. No chance though, surprised Tottenham signed him really.
  • Doubt Diego will go out on loan, reckon he is in the unenviable position of being close enough to the first team they will keep him as cover and just far enough away he won't play. Enjoy your learning curve in the U21's.

Interesting that Assou Ekoto at Spurs hates football and has finally managed to get himself in a position where he can collect his wages without playing! Perfect for him.

Maybe not for much longer, not included in there 25 man squad
  • I don't want him anywhere near the club. He made his decision. Not a chance it'll happen. Can you honestly see Roland having him back here?

    In a word yes!
We are going into the loan window still needing to get talent and depth into the front six positions. Unlike the Kermorgant saga I didn't see a whole load of statements being made.
As Poyet not in the 25 man squad he is surely going to want to play somewhere...why not us?
  • SCP to take him to Huddersfield? Think they both had great respect for each other.

Because Charlton have Buyens and Cousins and if we need another midfielder it needs someone who can play further forward ?

  • I don't believe Poyet has to be in the 25 due to his age. He is still able to play for them

Why does he have to be in their 25 man squad when players under the age of 21 are non exempt.
  • All I'm saying is that we need quality and cover for the front six. We know we're vulnerable if Vetokele or Henderson get injured...we don't know which premier league clubs will deal with us? Whether it's Poyet or others it will always be another clubs player at this stage.
I get the thing about developing our players but if loan players can help us stay in the top six then that works...thing is they need to be good and fit in which brings us back to Poyet.

It's a fair commute from his mum's house for the lad to undertake.

His brother is at Uni at Leeds not far from Huddersfield.

I get what you're saying and I've no problem with loanees. Poyet however, could have stayed with us, in the first team and continued to improve as a player. He chose not to do that and if he's not getting game time as a result of then that's his problem, not ours.
  • such a plonker

I thought this was the case too.

  • Poyet doesn't need to be in the 25 so he can still play if there is an opportunity, unfortunately for him that is the issue. Wet spam signed a glut of midfielders before the window closed and the majority of them are expected to be ahead of him in the pecking order.

There seems to be a feeling that Poyet is not as developed as they believed and he is not ready to play in the premiership. I would expect a championship struggler to pick him up on loan as the more successful teams will not want to unbalance their squad with a short term signing who may have the "has to play" clause in his deal.
  • Welcome Diego and Darren.
That would be nice. Wishful thinking.
  • I for one would love him back, as much as we all love him Jacko is deadwood in the middle now, does nothing all game and wouldn't play if he wasn't captain, and I think Poyet and Buyens would have great link up, with Buyens being good at taking it forward and Poyet being a very consistent passer.
  • I wonder what the odds are that we get him back on loan, then sign him permanently if we got promoted.Could this be brokered into a loan agreement. Maybe West Ham don't like him enough now they've had a close look at him!

But then you are losing Cousins and messing his development up,
when Bulot is playing I think he will be LM, Gudmundsson RM, and Buyens and Cousins CM

He did decide to take his chances in the Prem and leave us, however, I would have him back as he is a good player and demonstrated that he had what it takes to perform in the Championship in arguably a weaker team than we have now. If he does go out on loan though, I cannot see it being with us, more likely another club in our division.
  • I'd rather give any one of our players, that are contracted to Charlton a chance over him. It won't happen, I can't see Roland or Katrien willing to take him back.
  • Mixed feelings, obviously a great player so would be pleased him back in the team but do we really want to train up a future West Ham academy product ;-) over players like Cousins?
