  • I'm going to ask my mate tomorrow what he thought of Poyet tonight.
  • Text from my Hamster mate at the game......"Mate, we have a gem in Poyet. Class class player".
  • Loads of West Ham fans on twitter saying he looked class,

that could be it for him now starting at the Weekend
  • The quicker he gets 1st team starts the quicker we get add on payments ..........
    hopefully!

I actually went to Upton Park tonight. Admittedly I didn't stay for extra time as my west ham mate has a new born and a wife needing assistance but in the 90 minutes I saw, he looked half the player he was for us. Didn't push past the half way line once and kept playing very short passes.

But it was a shocking game and yes, he could probably be considered the best of a bad bunch

He may have been told to play short passes and not get caught too far up the pitch. As we all know Big Sam doesn't go for the legendary West Ham style, what ever that is/was.
  • I was at Upton Park as well tonight, and I agree with allez les addicks. Poyet moved the ball from side to side a lot, picking the ball up from defence in the hope of starting moves, but couldn't do anything particularly attacking with the ball. To be fair, the forwards weren't giving him many options, but it does seem like his default setting is to play the simple ball or go backwards rather than attempt to play it through.

West Ham looked like a side struggling to adapt a new passing style of play tonight, so maybe I'm being unfair in this criticism of Poyet.

Is that any different to what he done for us

What did your West Ham supporting mate at work think of him tonight?

I never saw him play for us, so I can't really say.

He wasn't helped by Ravel Morrison also playing deep, meaning there was no real connection with the front two.
  • Poyet looked class? I should think so against a League One reserve team.

Can't wait to find out what he said. In fact, I've been up all night pacing up and down in anticipation.
  • Campbell-Ryce came off the bench for Sheffield Utd as well.
  • Sad to say i went Upton Park as well last night (Sheff Utd end to be fair) and Poyet looked ordinary in my opinion. Too many 5 yard sideways passes and not enough penetration, although in fairness the rest of the West Ham team looked worse.

Same as he did here then.
  • Sorry guys, it might seem like treason but I'm a football fan. I'll go to basically any game to enjoy the game, and a few beers with mates who support other teams if I can't make it to ours or they're at different times to ours.

One of the joys of being young and relatively commitment free (as well as getting a fair few corporate seats through work) is that I got to over 50 games last season in leagues ranging from the Premiership to Conference South, via La Liga and the World Cup. But The Valley will always feel like home to me.
  • My mate has confirmed Poyet reminded him of a certain Ipswich and Charlton ex pro with a name like a Netherlands region.
