Two clean sheets in a row will help steady the ship.
I'm not convinced JR is producing a better brand of football yet, but it certainly isn't any worse. Not sure what Powell would have offered to improve things the last 2 games, as one of his shortfalls seemed to lie on the tactical side of things (especially changing things up during a game).
JR has definitely not done anything to encourage me to feel negative towards him or his methods just yet, and he's clearly no more of a puppet than Powell at this stage as far as players are concerned. Perhaps where Powell struggled to accept his new role under new ownership, JR has embraced it and works within the confines more successfully due to that acceptance?
Curbs is too wise to accept a job as a puppet man, JR will probably be our academy director that's common knowledge due to the product/service he is trying to advertise, Hart to Man City wouldn't surprise me.
Riga has the advantage of being RD's man and having his trust.
While I was not happy with Powell's sacking, I had got to the point where I thought it would be the best thing for the immediate future of the club to not have constant clashes between manager and owner.
I can't quite put my finger on it, but something about JR's interviews (even if in broken English) make me feel relatively positive - an apparent intent to play attacking football while remaining organised, suggesting he was slightly disappointed with the Millwall performance etc.
Of course this must be followed through on with goals and results, but perhaps the players will also feel a relief in the tension that was building throughout the club, and the arrival of Obika should provide another lift.
Given the position we're in, and looking at the games coming up, it is all about points. Roland has made his decision, and it is up to Jose Riga and Karel Fraeye to deliver...starting tonight.
Curbs always said that when you are on a bad run, the first thing you do is stop the defeats by getting draws. This builds up confidence, and after a couple of draws you can then move on to a win. Hopefully the confidence will help you go on a good run. Here's hoping!
