Thought they both looked very dapper and seemed to have a bit of authority round him aswell as the fact we played well and made early subs but don't know why I say this most will just slag him off anyway.
Press boys just laid into him in the press conference certainly didn't hold back and it's confirmed he knows nothing about millwall. He just spoke about the players and passed off questions about Standard Liege.

I think you're getting a bit oversensitive. Only seen one negative comment so far.

Early subs but each one made us worse than before! Subs aren't the magic answer when your squad is shit.

Not sure about your assessment of his press conference which I also listened to. He was aware of the importance of the fixture and was interrupted by (i think it was Damian Mathews) who said he would brief Riga in the next few days about the game. Riga added that he could do nothing about Millwall but would prepare Charlton. Some of the press questions were quite interesting, he struggled when asked if he was here to feed S.L with footballers to which he seemed surprised by the question and dismissed it. He has yet to sign a contract and claims he was only approached a couple of days ago for the job. Overall I felt he handled some difficult questions reasonably well.
Made an effort to come out while the players were warming up and signed some autographs. Looked the part and appeared animated when he was trying to get his instructions across and shook hands/put his arms around players as they came off. Looked 'into the game' and was communicating well. Didn't look daunted by the occasion. On the whole a positive start.
He wore a suit, gesticulated a bit, conferred with the other bloke dressed the same and was about the same type of meh as the game. He managed the reds to a home draw so the relegation fight gets harder after this home draw. If the result isn't down to him he wouldn't have taken the credit if we had won? Don't think so judging by his willingness to meet the press post match.
Any man who puts his heart and soul into a special cogi training method, touts it round europes clubs and ends up in the seemingly perfectly suited job of Academy Director at one of Europes most prestigious clubs.... but then leaves at the drop of a hat to work for a man who previously sacked him worries me deeply. Can you imagine SCP being tha kind of guy?
A Belgian friend of mine who loves his home football said to expect more of the same from the Roland regime, he said he won't be hiring anyone who expects to fully control their team or influence transfers anytime soon.
I'm not saying bring back Chrissy, but at least actually look for the right guy for the job!
I mean finding someone who knows our league might be a good idea if your trying to survive in potentially the toughest (most gruelling) league in this country.

However, it seems to me like he could well be a stop-gap coach put in place until the end of the season and that RD will appoint a new manager then.
RD needed someone at short notice and JR fits the bill - for now at least.
