The problem is, there are too many fickle fans out there....

My other half just reminded me of Cardiff's situation. The directors sacked their manager after he got them promoted and changed their kit.... Fans still attended though!

Exactly. The Cardiff supporters just bent over and let him get away with it and now they've got what they deserved - a farce of a club.

And now we're about to do exactly the same (but with League 1 football rather than Premiership football as the reward). RD should be sitting in a theatre of hatred tomorrow evening, but at worst he'll get a couple of half-hearted boos. Our current support would never have got us back to The Valley.

Didn't the Southampton fans have all these ideas when Adkinson was sacked, full house every week now, playing better football and higher up the league.
Give us strength! But Southamptin are not part of some mad businessmans way to make his next packet by tying in a newtwork of clubs to feed Liege!
If that is the best you can come back with your argument is flawed. There is no evidence RD is "mad", no evidence any money from our club will make up "his next pay packet" and as of today not one single Charlton player has left these shores for Belgium. All of the player exchanges have involved them coming to us which makes SL our feeder club?

And are looking forward to watching a League 1 team made up of players signed on loan from other clubs?
Due to lack of investment since we romped away with the League 1 title I have been watching a "League 1 team made up of players on loan from other clubs" for the last two seasons.

I have lost count of the threads on hear calling for players to come in on loan before the window closes so what is the difference?

No point in continuing this conversation with you anyway. There are those of us who care about the long term future of the club, and those of us who just want to watch a game somewhere on a Saturday afternoon and don't really care about what goes on in the background. You're clearly in the latter camp.
You clearly do not know me then do you and it would seem you are happy to throw assumptions about me around just as you are about what is happening at the club before it actually happens.

I have been supporting Charlton since the 67/68 season (47 years) and my current spend on 4 x season tickets and a table for 4 in a hospitality lounge before every home game amounts to over 4k per season. I can assure you I would not be spending this sort of money if I "don't really care"

Fair enough. I apologise for making what I admit was an incorrect assumption about you. I just do not understand how you or anyone else can put a positive spin on what has happened at the club since it was taken over by Duchalet.

No need to apologise, emotions are running high at the moment and as fans there is clearly a split in the camp. In a nut shell I just feel that something had to change, MS & TJ had to go and they have been replaced by RD. Love it or hate it we have to live with it. I have never met him but by all accounts CP was a lovely fella but sadly football is a business and lovely fella's sometimes have to go.

There seems to be a glimmer of positivity coming through on here now, people seem to be accepting CP has gone and the new manager needs support.

I sincerely hope it all works out for the best as I love this club, but if it doesn't we go again, we are Charlton.........that's what we do.

I would not know where to start with a hand shake symbol to put our differences to bed so you will have to make do with a "hand shake" :-)
