Do we want the Club we support/love to flourish ? If your answer is NO, we don't need you. if the answer is YES, then please stop organising negative and destructive actions which will get you nowhere, you will be harming the Club. At this time, our support should be louder and stronger than ever before, COYR.
What will happen tonight. Nothing except for a few true fans who will let their angert known.
What would I like to happen? All those refusenik appeasers who see supporting the players and three points as the be all and end all to do one for a night and leave the valley to those that want to save the club. They can all then get tickets to fill out the lower west and then peacefully occupy the lounges, Director's box etc and basically do anything within the law to make sure the Belgian does not get to see the match.
Sadly no chance so I will think of soemthing to do myself lol
Nothing against him and I doubt he's that bad but it will say a lot. The North stand wasn't too supportive the first time he played.
That will help us. Gettin on a young keeper, playing in a foreign country, knows he is disliked by the fans. That's not fair on the kid. Feel sorry for him he is sort of stick in the middle of this mess !

I agree, not saying it's right or that I'll join in. The fact is that he shouldn't be anywhere near our first team, will also sent a very wrong message to our players - it doesn't matter if you're playing well, you're behind the Belgium bunch.

Our new owner has been organising negative and destructive actions which will prevent the club we support/love from flourishing. That's why people want to protest.
But you just go ahead and clap along gormlessly, at least the season tickets will be cheaper when we're in League 2.

Why, it's not his fault if he is selected? I think the last thing that a club that is BOTTOM of the table is abuse from disgruntled fans showing their 'passion'; it is hardly motivating. Given that we lost 4 of the last 5 league games under Powell's tenure, the status quo is certain relegation.
Just try abnd support the team on the pitch, the players might just appreciate it and respond.

Do you think Hamer deserves to be dropped? IF Thuram is in goal, it will be the epitomy of what's wrong at Charlton.
If the sub-Standard liege players are played tonight then I 100% agree that some sort of protest needs to be made. Cardiff left it too late and look what's happened to them. We cannot allow this Belgian prick to ruin our club
Most want Ajdarevic to play and a number think Reza deserves more of a chance.. Some that went to Wigan think Nego did ok and should also be given more games. Koc played for the u21s yesterday so is unlikely to play.
The only "sub Standard Liege" player anyone really has an issue with is Thuram.
Pathetic. Man up. This OTT love for Powell could end up with Powell being the worst appointment the club ever made, through no fault of his own ! Support the club .

If our current starting 11 is adjusted to fit in thuram and nego then there is something seriously wrong. People do not realise if we let Roland he will make our club an embarrassment, just as Tan has done at Cardiff

Hamer is out of contract soon, so is Morrison, so is Poyet, so are others I believe. We have guys on loan, guys who will not be part of the experimental future, and newly arrived cast offs. These guys have reason to not bother, Chris Powell going is reason enough for some. They are well paid, and the likely scenario is they will get fixed up by their agents for next season.
How many of them will feel anything much for us if we're relegated, and they have gone? They will be wise to concentrate on not getting injured to help their agents fix them up. For the players it is time to look after number one isn't it?
Will they actually be playing for Charlton tonight?
If we are supposed to get behind the manager and players, how about they get behind us...huh?
Not long to wait until tonight, I suspect Huddersfield Town fans are rubbing their hands, Mark Robins is no mug, nor is Holloway on Saturday who will be rubbing his hands too, whilst the Spanners fans will be laughing their heads off and ripping us a new one.
There is a chance isn't there? Win tonight, and win on Saturday may make the landscape look a whole lot better. I don't care if the players expect support and don't get it, I don't care if fans choose to barrack them, I don't care if Riga gets a torrid time, they're well rewarded to put up with it. They have to deliver now, gloves are off, it is raw and basic, win or nothing...the poxy experimentation can wait until next season. Riga has to deliver a win, and that is only the start too until May.
If they want support from me, they can start by giving something first to support beyond pulling on the shirt and automatically expecting to be adored.
Judging by the amount they put into it on Sunday I am not holding my breath. However I am holding my breath when it comes to getting behind them until such time as they deliver something breathtaking to feel some joy and shout about.

Granpa. You been over doing the werthers again?
Your 'sit back, smile and clap' approach is really starting to grate with me.
This club is fast going down the toilet. The very foundations of it are now in a very precarious position. You have managed to get many years of pleasure out of this club. There are a fair few that may well not be afforded that luxury should this sorry state be allowed to continue.
Saying things like speaking out and protesting will do nothing just gives those dishing out the grief an easy ride and allows them to dump on us from and even greater height.
Stand up to it and give your grand kids a chance to support this great club the way you have for many years.

Sadly a team and performance that Powell has to have some responsibility for, in addition to the most recent four out of five league losses. Strip away the unconditional adulation for Chris Powell, a fantastic stalwart of the club, a great player and highly respected individual in the game, he has delivered relegation form and the buck stops with the manager.
Objectively, it strikes me as a nobrainer that he was fired, based purely on the performance of the whole season.
That doesn't mean that I don't like the guy or respect what he has achieved in the past.

Protest is patriotism.
Only people who care about the club would bother taking the time to object to something being done at the club. (That is not to say that if you don't protest, you don't love the club - just that if you don't love the club, you wouldn't bother protesting). Your argument has been used by leaders throughout history to make their life easier, and it is frankly untrue. In the short term, you are right that protest and "negative actions" might harm the club - but with the aim of improving our long-term future.
Frankly, to me its not the end of the world if we get relegated (obviously I'd rather we didn't). We've all been there at least once before, and the club is still here. What I'm concerned about is the long-term future of the club, for myself, and my future children (who will have no choice but to support Charlton, unfortunately for them). And under the current regime, I can't see a possible future which I'm happy with.
If you choose not to oppose the current owner and management team, that is fine, and it doesn't make you any less of a fan if you think they are for the best. We all have a right to make our own opinions about the current situation. However, don't mistake any negative actions against them as a lack of support or love for the club. It is exactly the opposite.
I appreciate people's frustrations but its too early to protest yet. We have four winnable games to come - three at home and one against a side with a culture of poor personal hygiene. I reckon we should see what happens. By that time if we don't like what we have seen then we should go for it - and I'll be one of the first to volunteer. Hopefully by that point there will be less division of opinion amongst the faithful.
The problem is, there are too many fickle fans out there....
My other half just reminded me of Cardiff's situation. The directors sacked their manager after he got them promoted and changed their kit.... Fans still attended though!
Exactly. The Cardiff supporters just bent over and let him get away with it and now they've got what they deserved - a farce of a club.
And now we're about to do exactly the same (but with League 1 football rather than Premiership football as the reward). RD should be sitting in a theatre of hatred tomorrow evening, but at worst he'll get a couple of half-hearted boos. Our current support would never have got us back to The Valley.
Didn't the Southampton fans have all these ideas when Adkinson was sacked, full house every week now, playing better football and higher up the league.
Give us strength! But Southamptin are not part of some mad businessmans way to make his next packet by tying in a newtwork of clubs to feed Liege!
If that is the best you can come back with your argument is flawed. There is no evidence RD is "mad", no evidence any money from our club will make up "his next pay packet" and as of today not one single Charlton player has left these shores for Belgium. All of the player exchanges have involved them coming to us which makes SL our feeder club?
Some people for protest some not , we cant become a feeder club no fucking way , really dont agree with wot RD is doing the fans need to show him we aint gonna stand by and let him fuck about with our great football club , a protest of some sorts needs to happen, but we still need to get behind the team they need us big time now.
Any protest which affects the confidence of the players is ridiculous. We mustn't get on the back of any player who happens to have been signed since RD took over. It is not their fault and we need them to play to the best of their ability if we are to stay up this season.
If you want to get any point across to those at the top (and increasingly the imported second-string players) then chants will need to be in Dutch or French ...

Manchester United and Antwerp have a long term partnership which has resulted in numerous Man U players turning out for Antwerp on loan. By your logic, that makes the current Premier League title holders the feeder club for a team in the Belgian 2nd Division. Right?!
As you say, there is no evidence at all that RD is mad. The only evidence we have so far is that he's a very shrewd and intelligent businessman who intends to use Charlton to benefit his overall network of clubs to the detriment of Charlton Athletic as an individual club. Presumably you applaud him for that and are looking forward to watching a League 1 team made up of players signed on loan from other clubs?

Due to lack of investment since we romped away with the League 1 title I have been watching a "League 1 team made up of players on loan from other clubs" for the last two seasons.
I have lost count of the threads on hear calling for players to come in on loan before the window closes so what is the difference?

Your choice. But you will soon change your mind.
As I have said before heard it all before about going to Selhurst. The team matters, we will be able to afford better players, they seem such nice men with a plan.

People have been calling for players to come in on loan because the main transfer window closed at the end of January (you might remember it, it was the one where we sold our two best players and didn't bring in any remotely adequate replacements), so thanks to our shrewd new owner, the only means we have left to get players in to help us avoid relegation is to bring them in on loan. Do you think, come the summer, that people will be hoping for a load of loan signings ahead of a load of permanent signings who are willing to commit to the club on a long term basis? I certainly won't be.
No point in continuing this conversation with you anyway. There are those of us who care about the long term future of the club, and those of us who just want to watch a game somewhere on a Saturday afternoon and don't really care about what goes on in the background. You're clearly in the latter camp.
Nothing against him and I doubt he's that bad but it will say a lot. The North stand wasn't too supportive the first time he played.
