Hi we are monitoring this situation and talking with Charlton about it, more on that shortly particularly when the full picture of this change is clear.
One thing I would ask is, if fans are so concerned about the match day experience, why have only 706 fans completed the survey? This is the first part of the collaborative effort between club and Trust, yet we can only get a fraction to complete it despite widespread publicity? This isn't a moan, I am genuinely puzzled on why.
It's gone out on all our channels and some major club ones too and is due to end shortly, and is a major way we can have a say at least in what we want - its not the only way of influencing of course, but could play a big part.
First I've heard of a survey, and 'gone out on all our channels' clearly doesnt include by post.
no it doesn't but perhaps it should funds permitting etc
It was however in Trust News, our website, Charlton Life, the club website and programme, and our and their social media, and on our stall.
Any chance of doing a bit of cheap fruit on the stall Raz, healthy snacks and all that at half time :0)
Might be missing something obvious here, but right, we get to half time, 15 minutes until everyone needs to be in their seat again. Everyone bundles out, pushing through all those wanting a smoke in the bogs, all pushing towards the door to Crossbars, now.. how do they know who to let in? If they take numbers or names and all that jazz by the time you get in for your complimentary pint and it's been served, you'd have to neck it and run back to your seat. Also what's to stop someone arriving 10 minutes before the end of the half, and drinking themselves silly, and getting a pint in right before the second half kicks off and seeing that off too. Not like we all miss match action at Charlton these days, not in the opponents goal anyway.
Sounds like the typical Charlton og again...i dont drink in crossbars and have been in their once only to look for someone......its expensive enough for me with two adult east stand tickets and valley gold and coming from Basingstoke without the extra £100 quid a season just to drink in there....
Maybe Rolys starting to show his true colours be careful what you wish for...but of course were going to win the cup ...arnt we ?
Would it not be easier to leave the whole cross bar thing alone and just open a after game bar/restuarent which offers subsidised prices for ST holders????? If they want to keep people at the valley after the game.
'It is advisable that anyone keen to take up the Crossbars package should purchase or relocate their season ticket to within the first six rows of the upper tier of the North Stand, for ease of access from their seat to the lounge at busy periods such as half-time. However, the package is available to any season-ticket holder in the upper tier of the North Stand and those currently located in the front six rows are under no obligation to purchase a Crossbars package.'
Not sure what the fuss is you don't have to sit in front six rows and if you do you don't have to move!
Not now but that was the ruling until it was changed, partially due to the "fuss"
Or they provided clarification rather than change because of the fuss

Yes ...!
With an extra ten per cent off for valley gold members i hope
I am a crossbars ticket holder and i sit in the north upper , i had a phone call today regarding crossbars been told that my seat in the north upper is ok as well as my crossbars ticket, was told legends is going ,and they are gonna open the whole lot up into 1 big suite , i dont think they will be moving people out if their seats if they do its out of order , was also told drinks at half time are complimentary lets see how long that lasts , from wot i gather they just want people using the place more after the game on a regular basis because normally its dead.
Quite. I wonder if they have ever considered opening it to non members ?
Just a radical thought.
You can get a day pass
Which cost how much ?
[Also, would like to know why I received 3 letters saying the same thing].

What a balls up. This thread has read like a docu-drama, and now the club have pretended it never happened. It doesn't bother me because I normally sit in the East Stand with the lords and ladies, but I can't wait for the next episode. What next?
New announcement: "Away fans to move to middle of the Lower West." Make some phone calls, announce it on the website, send some letters. Nope, yes you're right, a silly idea. Make a new announcement - away fans stay in Jimmy Seed Stand.

Just found it in a link on the OS, £10 a game for crossbars this season

Thanks. So, if I'm correct [unlikely, I know] this season you could have paid £100 for membership, or £10 per game, to use crossbars if you wanted too.
Next season, if you are like myself, @adamtheaddick, @RedRidingHoodie, @LenGlover & others, the club propose that you pay £230 to use crossbars, if you re-new your S/T after April 10th whether you like it or not ?
New arrangements and prices released the night after the VIP meeting and 48 hours before a game that could get us to Wembley. After all, lose on Sunday and announcing this afterwards would have looked even more ridiculous.
Or maybe I am just being cynical and it is all a big coincidence?

No but we're knocking out some hookie badges 2 quid a pop, made in china (Free to renewers)

No, they have quite clearly changed it.
Read the early posts from people who had letters and phone calls.
The intention was to make the front six rows Crossbars only hence it being called that on the seating plan.
They have now changed that which is a good thing but they have changed not "clarified" as a result of the fuss/customer feedback

No, after my one man crusade, they have back tracked :-)
At the moment, if you received "the letter" & presumably sit in the front 6 rows of the North Upper, you can still renew for £300 end of, as long as you do it by the 9th April.
It's not clear though what happens after this & that is probably because they don't know either, as they are making it up as they go along.
Also, if & when enough people take up the Crossbars offer & sit in the first 6 rows, then progressively people may get pushed out.
Having said that, you would have to be rather well off & love Crossbars, to want to pay an increase from £100 per season to £230 per season.
I'm non plussed why they believe, that by more than doubling the price, they will increase membership.
Economics of the madhouse (I won't get political).

Did you use crossbars?
No. I had the option, I choose not to. As I say, I just asking a question.
received my application form today, no mention of being able to pay £300 rather than the £530 if renewing early !! Will call the ticket office tomorrow.

No, it's a change. I was specifically told this morning that my seat would be lost if I did not take up the Crossbars offer.
Crossbars was £10 a go if you bought it on a match to match basis, or £100 a season if you bought it with your S/T. The £530 $64,000 question for us North stand gentry is can you still get the £100 deal?

Sorry, genuinely confused now. In easy-to-understand language for people like me, how does this work ?
If I renew before April 9th, I pay £300 for the seat I've had since the Covered End Upper was opened, after that £530 ?

What is the best way to increase Crossbars usage ?
A) Reduce prices a little.
Increase the prices to an eye watering level ?
