There must be many people who go with a kid(s) who would like to go somewhere that like that but wouldn't go to a pub. Somewhere they can have a pint, the kids a coke and maybe watch the early game in the tv. Can't be that hard to organise to make better use of the space.
If it were free to ST holders/ £1 per game/ even £5 per game it would probably be rammed and more like a normal bar than a restaurant/corporate hospitality facility - so it depends on what the club think Crossbars actually is.
I've got no beef with them charging a seasonal fee for membership/access before and during a match. There were days when it was pretty damn busy last year so I appreciate there's a balancing act to be had - charging an extra £100 for a free programme & Bob Bolder reading out the team sheet was delusional though.
Still don't see any reason why it can't be run like any other public bar after the final whistle.

Crossbars Offer The football club has agreed as part of their commercial agreement with Valley Gold to give members 10 passes in Crossbars at every home match for the remaining games of the season. Members will be able to apply for two tickets and bring a friend to enjoy the Crossbars facilities before and after the home games. This offer will start from the Birmingham City game on Saturday, October 4th and for this great experience all we ask members to do is encourage your friend to join Valley Gold. If you want to take advantage of this great offer please email me at: wendy.perfect@cafc.co.uk

How does 2 tickets and a friend equate to 10 passes ? Rhetorical question.

I guess that means every week 5 VG members are given 2 tickets, one for themselves and one for a friend.
Might as well go the whole hog and make it the Valley Gold bar free entry to VG members. 900 ish capacity and 2000 VGers but a lot will already be in other lounges/pubs/clubs.
At least Deleware North will be happy to see a full lounge.

I believe part of the lounge has now been handed over to the players' families after someone decided to move them to the lounge in the north-west quadrant which doesn't have a view of the pitch. The players were unhappy and the north lounge had no customers so they have sectioned a bit off for them there. However, I could be wrong...

I'm a crossbars member av been for a few years ,yes they have sectioned off a certain area, whether it is for players families I don't know , but recently a lot of under 21 players and academy players have been in there , to be honest the crossbars thing is total shambles the food used to be ok ,now I think it is shocking I take my son in there with me and the food isn't for kids , to be honest u can't can't even get a simple Sandwich any more all ponced up crap food that tastes shocking .
Someone who used to be in Crossbars - and is scathing about the changes - told me on Saturday that the matchday price to go in there has been bumped up to £15 too.
