Massive midweek game after the cup game - take 3 points into Millwall and hopefully we will be fine - gotta keep together, we have a young team - such a shame we have no goals in us this season.
sorry but all of our players were crap, ok Leicester were good but we were bad even Yann wouldn't have made a difference as the ball would never have reached him.
I remember about 20 years ago, my dad saying to me that we were modelling ourselves on Leicester and trying to repeat their success. Well after that we not only followed the, but overtook them for a significant period, but football has it's ups and downs and were almost stable again now. With a bit of tweaking we could be a steady upper Championship club and from that position anything can happen, just look at Palace as an example. I can't see us getting a few players on loan from RD's other clubs and smashing this league, like Leicester have done, but we could sneak into a play-off spot if Powell is supported to build a squad with quality across the team. As Leicester have shown this season, quality shines through. They have spent a fortune and if they blow it, they will be in big trouble. Let's hope our cup run continues and enables Powell to spend a few quid in the summer adding some class, so that next season, whichever league we're in we can compete.
I am not going to bother doing player marks today. I was at the game but there was literally zero to get excited about. Zero.
We did nothing. No one was particularly bad or good. Once their first goal went in there was a tiny bit of noises from us then Silence until about the 60-something minute when we were fed up of them singing "can you hear the charlton sing" etc. then a fair amount of noise through til the end.
Singing que sera we're going to wembley was making me cringe every time, but definitely expected.
You'll notice that I'm talking about the fan and not the game, it was literally that dull.
Watching Leicester fans made me glad that we are losing games, winning 3-0 and 99% weren't bothered. If we beat a team 3-0 at the valley we would go absolutely insane. Spoilt.
Kermorgant got a hat trick, he scored as many as the entire Leicester team. And I don't know why Roland sold him for a couple hundred grand, he cost Leicester around £100m ;-)
Trying to be angry but I cant, the company was sOoOo gooD. People I hadn't met 4 years and. Great friends great company this is why we R the greatest team the world has ever seen, Mr Boardley U are a top gEEzer.

If, eight days ago, I was offered victory against QPR and Sheff Weds and defeat against Leicester I'd have taken it. Not surprised by today's result and a week for the players to recover.
Home now, we were outclassed. Bringing on Hughes shows the lack of depth in the squad. Harriott had a poor game, need to bring 2 or 3 in the next week attacking wise otherwise we won't stay up.
We didn't turn up. From the off the Leicester front two were pressing our back line whenever they had the ball and that set the stall out for the game we continued to give the ball away cheaply by going long, bypassing the midfield. This was typified by nugent who must have sprinted 70m closing down two CAFC defenders and Hamer on 75 mins. What was most galling for me though was whilst they may have been the better footballers we made it easier for them, by giving them, so much time on the ball and not getting into their faces and making it difficult for them just as we did on Monday night. However we move on the teams around us gained no ground, we have games in hand and a Q/F to look forward too.
And only barely recognisable attempts on goal, Schmichael had nothing to do.
Just got back, sorry about a lack of commentary, not enough working ISDN lines, despite frantic efforts by us and Leicester, nothing we could do. On the playing side, without doubt, we lost to the best side I have seen this season.
The good news is that I've done my two away games for this season, Doncaster and Leicester away, both 3-0 defeats. I've not got any left to go to, so hopefully all those that travel, and the team have a chance of getting some away wins between now and the end of the season.
You couldn't really pick any individuals out to criticise, everyone apart from Hamer was poor. We literally just looked like we were there to make up the numbers. I get Leicester look good and Powell can hide behind that (to an extent). However, we really gave them an easy run out. We sat back from the start and asked no questions of them whatsoever. I guess the 4-5-1 worked well against Wednesday, Powell thought why not give it a go again. I don't mind it as a formation, but let's be realistic, from the top down we struggle. CHURCH IS SHIT. There is no other opinion on this man I will even entertain. Imagine how the Leicester defenders reacted when they saw it was him up top on his own today. He can't hold up the ball. He's not fast. He's not that much of a poacher and he doesn't pull defenders out of position. My worry is that he gets his odd goal like he did last week, and he's got his place in the team cemented again for another 4/5 games.
After that, the gap between him and the midfield was too big. If the ball wasn't bouncing 20yrds off Church's chest, then there was no support for him anyway. Hamer was the only one to come out of that with any credit.
In summary I saw more movement in the men's toilets at half time and after 50 minutes, my only focus was a Reading equaliser.
I'm surprised most on here and by the sounds of it the manager and players too have this attitude of oh well least that's Leicester out the way. I think the attitude stinks and it sounded like we rolled over and died from the off. Yes Leicester are flying at present and yes they are looking like they are going up but come on they aren't a Man city or Real Madrid they are bloody Leicester. We have beaten them once already this season, we can beat them again, or at least give them a game. We beat QPR last week when no one gave us a chance so why not these. I suspect if all the teams around us had won people's view may have been a bit different.
Also it feels like a proper piss take on the fans that traveled up there.
For anyone who was their, can you tell me who played on the right when Hughes came on for Cousins.
Whilst the result might have been as expected, we were much less competitive than I had hoped we would be. As others have said, we were totally outclassed from start to finish. We simply couldn't cope with their pace and movement, whilst they quickly closed us down so that at no stage during the game were we able to retain possession. It was painful to watch and could so easily have been much worse than 0-3.
Our key weaknesses were cruelly exposed today. We provided no threat whatsoever down the flanks and we badly need some pace and width. On the right Cousins was dominated by the impressive Schlupp. Our number 24 is wasted in that position. On the left, though he did at least manage to get himself involved in the game, Harriott's play lacked intelligence; he was completely ineffective. Upfront on his own poor old Simon Church worked as hard as ever, but was easily outmuscled by Leicester's centre backs. Without any support from our midfield players his task was a thankless one; it was men against a boy.
On a more positive note, Hamer was excellent and has surely established himself, once again, as our number one keeper. Ajdarevic was our only outfield player to show any real quality, but Chris Powell may not have been too impressed by his highly speculative long range shooting. He may also lack the pace and energy to play his part in a press. Whatever the reason, he lasted less than an hour before being substituted.
Infact, Powell's substitutions, with the score at 0-2, were puzzling I felt. Ajdarevic and Cousins came off for Hughes and Tudgay with over half an hour still to play. It's possible that the Manager had given the game up and decided to rest two of his better players and, with the forthcoming fixture congestion in mind, to give Hughes and Tudgay some game time. The latter will undoubtedly have an important role to play in the run in, the former probably won't.
The game at Bramall Lane is going to be very tough. Sheffield Utd will start favourites and Chris Powell will need to think very hard about his game plan

Yep sheff United r on a fine run of form scoring plenty!
More concerned about the injuries than the result on this occasion - this game was always likely to be a bridge too far. But perhaps we can now lose the complacency that has set in post Sheff Wed. We still need reinforcements to increase the depth of the 1st team squad. Just a couple, but desperately needed.
Utter crap , yep Leicester tore us a new one and some but Hamer apart to a man we were pathetic and 3-0 flattered us. I fear for us with a gizzard load of games to come and our squad thinness The lack of ability and guile will mean we just won't create much for the rest of the season and the quality that Yann provided and is now missing will in my view see us condemned (just an opinion I'm voicing on here and I sung my heart out today) All those seemingly writing off Yeovil and Barnsley may have not noticed but the gap is smaller than it was a few weeks back , I fear we'll end up in the bottom 3 but we can but hope
Bumped in to Fanny for the 2nd time today , the first being at the Back to The Valley dinner, where I'll put it down to her being a bit drunk rather than me not making any impression on her because she needed reminding who I was today ;-)
40% Championship footy next season 60% League One anonymity again ffs
Not unexpected but all the same, a disappointing day out for the reasons others have already expressed.
I don't mind losing but expect to see some fight & touches of skill from our lads - not much of either today sadly apart from another encouraging performance by Charlton's number one.
I too am worried about the depth of our squad, or rather the lack of it with so many crucial games piling up.
AB said it all when he commented on the number of RD's additions playing a part .....surely we need more than a couple of incomings with substantial FL experience ASAP ?
Someone has already expressed their concern re the possibility of falling between 2 stools this season with both the Cup and relegation fears to juggle and I echo those thoughts. To fail at both would be so cruel but what's the answer ? Presumably to go out & face each game as though it's a Cup Final ? Once again, the frailty of the squad & the number of games ahead will inevitably take their toll with a less than strongest team being fielded at times for recuperation from knocks.
I continue to remain optimistic but with reservations that just won't stop burrowing their way into my old head. A result either way next Saturday is a must for me. Partly because we'd miss the replay as well as the Millwall & Bournemouth games but also because we need another fixture like Victoria Beckham needs a gastric band. And much as I'd love a trip to Wemberley, I'd gladly swap it for enough points to see us safe & sound in next season's Championship. Of course, both would be nice....
Oh, and the highlight of my day was a brief chat with the lovely Ooooahh with his smashing son on the way out after the game. Good to see you again, mate.
didn't go so can't comment on the game, BUT, I do get worried when I here comments like "not up for it" or "no fight" or " they walked all over us". Yes, Leicester are a good team & will go up as champions, but in any game teams need to be creating chances & having a go at the opposition. I don't mind losing 3-0 to the top team, but coming away with only 1 effort on target isn't good enough. Why we are still persisting with Church up front on his own I know not why. We have not yet seen Pete the Pole and surely its worth trying him ?? and Cousins on the right again ???????? have we learnt nothing over the last few games.
Airman Brown makes a very telling point. Started with just AA out of the players brought in to STRENGTHEN the team - having LOST Stephens & Kermy.........so effectively a man light from Feb 1st. Can't figure it out myself & can only think that RD went to the same school as the South Yorkshire Police when it comes to logic.
Finally............I wasn't at the infamous Trust meeting in the City last month so perhaps someone that was can just remind me what RM said about bringing in experienced loan signings. As they say............talk is cheap !!!
He said we were in for 3 players or perhaps strikers, with either Championship or Premiership experience or both & he was hopeful one may sign the following day.
Personally, I reckon he was referring to Leon Best now Sheff W, Becchio & SWP.
Getting worried when I agree with Golfie, but I've said several times before that actions speak a lot louder than words...we've heard a lot more from the new owners than the previous ones but I am yet to be convinced that they really know what they are doing. The squad clearly needs strengthening, yet two months after the takeover, we are still waiting. Today shows we have a long way to go - if we do escape, it will be as much down to luck as judgment, it seems. Clearly other teams around us are not that great/ strong, which makes our lack of investment all the more galling.
Leicester have won 12 in 14 or something like that. Yeah we got beat and yeah we were shite today but we've just won 3 in 2 and tbh i half expected it to be 0 in 3.
Still all to play for but no reason to think we won't do it based on getting beat by top of the league.

Wouldn't read into this one too much. Move on to Sunday.

We made it easy for them though, they cut through us like butter, while up front we were toothless. Play like that against the Blades and we'll lose.
A good day out though, saw the Richard III exhibition and car park, a couple of nice pubs and a decent curry :-)
I don't mind losing but expect to see some fight & touches of skill from our lads - not much of either today sadly apart from another encouraging performance by Charlton's number one.
