He's done well in spells. I guess maybe his lack of pace led to Leicester and Liverpool letting go thinking maybe his game was more suited to the continent.

offered a cameraman a lift to the ground last night haha, what a hero
Had a great work rate yesterday. Definitely didn't look any more unfit than others on the pitch. Him and sordell chased countless lost causes and chased back

He was easily our most threatening player last night - couple of shots from distance (neither caught perfectly sadly).
Looked absolutely shagged after 70 mins though. I can imagine a full pre season and some better players around him and he could be the fulcrum. Definite captain potential.
Really hope he signs permanently and I get the impression he is settled, happy and I for one would love to see him stay

You are joking? With about 20 minutes to go, he was holding his sides and huffing and puffing! Didn't see any of the others tiring like that. Clearly not fully fit and thought he should have been substituted instead of Harriot.
He's a young man and looks of relatively athletic build - doesn't seem to be carrying Andy Reid style excess timber - so why can't he last 90 mins? It can't still be down to lack of match practice surely? Are we just protecting him for the rest of the run in?
He's obviously been an improvement in our midfield and looks like he's potentially the creative fulcrum we've been crying out for since we sold the aforementioned tubby Irishman. Seems like he's really settled into the squad well too so I reckon he'd stay if offered the chance. So what can we do to get him into good enough shape so he can be a key figure who starts and finishes the vast majority of games in a 46 match football league season?
The pace of the championship is very different to anything in Europe - not my opinion but the observation of a Belgian journalist who came to cover Charlton just after the takeover. The thing is we have three subs allowed so if one comes on for Ajdarevic on the hour that's fine by me. Problem is that Jackson goes off too and he's the other dead ball specialist.
I have never seen a pro footballer have such poor natural fitness and stamina. It's perplexing because as you say, he doesn't look to be carrying any excess.
Needs to be managed carefully if we keep him beyond this season.
Not sure a lack of pre-season is a good enough explanation, likewise the pace of English football. Maybe would be reason for looking off the pace but he seems to be doing fine for 45 to 60 mins but then just runs out of steam. It's a bit of concern, but may well explain why he's on loan with us and not in Liege's first team because he's probably good enough.

Exactly, he probably does more running in the Championship - including a lot of sprinting up and back - than he ever did in any other country he's played in.
You have to factor in that he is a ball player, a playmaker who likes to put his foot on the ball but at our level he has realized that you have to win the ball before you can play it so has had to lift his work-rate a lot.
Ajdarevic - Quality player, much better than Stephens IMO - just a shame he cannot last longer than 70 mins at the moment. Would love to see him sign in the summer although he does moan alot at other players, did anyone notice him giving it to Wood last night?
Would have thought that he's had enough game time by now to be fully match fit. Perhaps the medical team need to change his diet or something. I'm sure they'd be looking at all angles. When was the last time a midfielder collected the ball in midfield, ran towards goal and scored with a shot into the corner? It's what we have been lacking for so long. The next time he tries it, defenders will be wary, get dragged out of position and someone lethal like Church can take full advantage.

Interesting what he says about his time @ Liege... Hopefully there will be a permanent deal in the summer
