Well played today - lots of nice touches, great control and good to see him bollocking the defence for 2nd goal.
Looks in need of match sharpness but that will come. Would be good to see him behind the strikers with Poyet and Cousins in behind playing the "pac-man" role

Stick a couple of flying fullbacks such as Wiggins and Solly/Wilson and you have an exciting line up.

Anyway - I was delighted with AA today and hope we can keep him. For me he could be the new Jackson

  • If his shot had of gone in during first half would have been well deserved.
  • Agree Swisdom, I thought he looked very assured in possession and didn't let the pitch or conditions affect him. He went looking for the ball all game and never hid, looking forward to him getting fitter and playing in the middle where he can really influence games for us.
  • I'm pleased he is doing well. Some doubters when we signed him, but proving to be a useful addition.
  • Promising performance, agree would like to see him play centrally. Some nice touches, control and passes.

Desperately need a good winger on loan and Solly & Wiggins back. All could make a real difference.
  • Class act along with Poyet. Lovely touch and close control for a big man.
  • Thought he looked useful at Udders, though short of match practice. Enjoyed watching him today - one of the most skilful players we've had for a long time. Don't get the 'a bit slow' comments - not a whippet, but not a slouch either. He mixes it a bit too - was winding up a couple of the Brum players...

Finally, liked his interview in prog - great attitude and wonderful quote, "We need to be a bit cooler sometimes. It's a ball - not a bomb."

Just a shame he's only on loan as looks pick of the bunch to me.

Will Powell play him the position you mention? He doesn't have a great record of putting round pegs in round holes!
  • Surprised by how big a unit he is.

Maybe could do a Yaya role in the middle.
  • He looked absolutely gutted at the final whistle.

Won his fair share of aerial battles too.
  • Impressed by today's performance.

  • He's definitely got passion, so did that reza bloke

I was about to post just that, tricky.

Stood in front of the East Stand with his head lowered as though we'd been beaten in a Cup Final.

Good to see it hurts at such an early stage of his Charlton "career".

  • I don't think we will see the very best of him until he is well bedded in, perhaps with a good pre-season, and a bit of extra fitness, but he certainly has something very decent about him.
  • Definitely has the makings to be our "Yaya", big man, good feet, powerful, has a shot and a pass on him, and wears the number 42 as well, something which I'm sure is no coincidence.
  • Liking the sound of this bloke. We haven't had a big powerful midfielder in many years. I think it was Pete Finch who said during the commentary that he offers more than Stephens. I think he would be more influential playing in the middle. But it sounds like we now have three excellent central midfielders with Cousins and Poyet.
  • Thought today he looked a class act, great feet, skillful, strong and not afraid to get stuck in, deffo needs a few games under his belt but certainly has the potential to do well for us.
  • Spoiled it a bit with bloody woeful cross from a good position, but I guess that's not really what he's there for
  • Was impressed but think he more adel taraabt than yaya
  • Stood out yesterday. Very impressed. Obviously lacked game time but promising.
  • He was our best player yesterday, just shading Diego, who faded a little (understandably) near the end. I would definitely play Astrid in a creative central role alongside either Jordan (power) or Diego (guile).

  • Was reasonably impressed. Good technically, seemed a little 'floaty' and a slight fear he might go totally missing in some games.

Got a bit of potential though.
  • Is he on loan or did we buy him?

A loan, but as an RD product we will probably keep hold of him come summer. Looks to me like a bigger Jackson in his prime playing wise, with a bit more pace besides. Reza and Polish Pete are the big names but this chap might just be the best business of them all on current evidence!
  • Reminded me of my namesake, classy, languid style, but always liable to make an error in the. wrong area or get a goal from nowhere. Love it!
  • Our best player yesterday in my opinion
  • Played well yesterday and looked devastated at full time with the result!
  • Best player on the pitch yesterday, not sure what position to play him in though to get the best out of him.
  • Got to own up, I said that I thought he was rubbish last week, but he played well yesterday, his only downfall may be his lack of pace.
  • I wouldn't mind seeing AA playing just behind the two strikers and in front of Cousins and Poyet. Has the first touch and vision to link holding midfield to a mobile strike force in Reza and Piotr. Not sure we have the wide midfield needed to accommodate this though.

Yeah agree with this... Saw him chasing a Defender for a loose ball at one point in the first half and he never looked like winning...

Some players dont need pace though if they can put the ball where they can though
