Just got 6. Looking forward to this. Has probably one of the best pubs i know, but that of course will be kept a secret, wouldn't want everyone to know about this gem ;-)

If you are a real ale fan must be either The Fat Cat, Kelham Island Tavern or Station Tap. On the other hand, judging by by your name, your tipple wouldn't be San Miguel by any chance?
No señor, not a lager drinker, prefer to sample proper local beers.... And no, none of them but might look 'em up :-)

'el bar esta cerca del estadio' - that's the only clue
  • Hi OP, serious question, are there any decent hotels to stay at in Sheffield?

Try the Garrison Hotel behind the New Barrack Tavern on Pennistone Road, about 20 minutes walk from ground

New Barrack Tavern is a great pub. Kev the landlord is a good laugh. Its an ale pub but also does good bottled lager from around the world. I go in here more than any other pub in Sheffield. A good friendly pub. Went here before last Wendies game.

My daughter came home from school today and we were talking about the game. She said all the boys are talking about the game and how they're going to smash us. I advised her to keep quiet until after. No point in storing up resentments until afterwards lol. She loved it at Hudds so is up for this one. Glad I didn't take her to Donny. My dad is a bit more realistic saying to let her down early. She's already seen us lose there last year so knows what's coming if we lose. Please god if you're listening, can we win this one :)
  • Hope we really win this one , love to be going but moving house on the friday b4, the misses wouldnt be to happy loads to be done , to all those going hope we do the buisness and u all av a great day , tickets are selling well at the moment can see us taking at least 2000 .

@nicolas its something like the 9.57. Ive got a wedding to go to on the Friday so didnt want to book an early one. You staying the night?

No mate not staying. Train back is around 7:30. Prob see ya in the pub opposite to station. Will be with choice and my bro in law and their little ones.
Don't know if that pub will be big enough
What's the world record for most people playing Chase the Ace?

That could pay for my night out
Just found out another mate is gonna be on same train as me, he is with 7 others, so thats 12 of us and you lot. Messy day :)

  • 11 of us on 0858
  • Will they game be moved now Sheff Utd are through
  • Surely they can't move a game they've already sold tickets for..
  • Surely they can't move a game they've already sold tickets for..

That would require common sense though
  • no the logical idea would be to move Sheff Utd to Friday Sunday or Monday
  • They will prob move the sheff utd game as their opponents haven't even been decided yet
  • Assuming can pay on the day?
  • Will Sheffield United winning effect this game? They r at home in 4th round too
  • Sheff Utd game will be moved.

How bad are Fulham though? Pigs lost to Crewe 3-0 on Saturday!
  • probably not.

It's actually further up Penistone Rd the Garrison next to Macdonalds.

  • I was told that as Sheffield United were drawn out of the bag before Sheffield Wednesday that they would get the 3pm kick off.

I hope I'm wrong as I've already brought my train ticket.

    LOL

  • Will be moved to Friday night.
  • Can the two new strikers play in this one? Can see a new cult hero being born....
  • So will it be moved then?

So will it be moved then?

Why would it be at this stage? Charlton have sold nearly 1000 tickets, meaning that fans have made arrangements by booking Trains/Hotels/time off work etc. United don't even know who they're playing in the next round until tomorrow, so their arrangements are not even made yet.

Wednesday will play Charlton on the date that's already been decided.

  • Just back from fulham (in with sufc fans) great atmosphere and unbelievable with the last minute winner.
