Can't wait to go into the next round. Should be an easy win for us. Soon wipe the smiles of the little sheff weds two bob faces

I would be shocked if it turns out to be an "easy win" as current form would suggest other wise. They are unbeaten in 10 games.
  • OP, where's good to park?
  • OP, where's good to park?

Are you driving straight to the ground I take it? If so lots of street parking around the ground and there are also car parks littered around that charge between £3-5 quid.

Get there early though, Hillsborough (the area) does get busy.

  • OP, where's good to park?

there's a petrol station near the ground with a small car park around the back which is where we packed last time. Cost four or five quid I think. Need to be there early though.

  • Cheers guys, will look for somewhere on the A61. Not getting there too early as taking some youngsters and don't want to scar them with spending too long in Sheffield.

Henry Jnr still hasn't got over what a dump Derby is. I think I have spoilt him bring him up in Bromley ; = )
  • I'm not a season ticket holder but don't mind paying an extra 5 quid as I don't pay out on a ST. Just glad they have gone on general sale. 3 bought. Come on you reds.
  • Do they still not serve alcohol in the away end?

    Cant be dealing with that.

Not sure, I think you could be right though...... but you could always go in the home stands and soak up some real atmospheric conditions lol.

  • He's right, Gary.

    Fill your boots!

IIRC that was either a League cup in the 1st round or it was a JPT game, either way there were more there then in your f.a cup 3R game V Oxford.

    Glasshouses lol

  • @operationpig is parking up at Meadowhall mall and then getting the tram to Leppings Lane a decent way to go? Just me and my young boy. Can you get away from the ground sharpish on the tram?
  • Can you buy these online? I've followed the link on the o/s but this game isn't listed.
  • No you cant buy online.
  • got ours, if the support is anything like at Wigan it will be good

That would work, parking at Meadowhall is free too (guessing that's what you've opted for this). I've never got the tram back, they look pretty packed as you'd expect, but don't think you'll have to wait around for too long.
  • OP, where's good to park?

A61 & also road on right as drive past the Kop from town, loads of parking up there, some free and some paid

    Cant be dealing with that.

Had alcohol available in the away end last season when we played them. Availability may be a police decision.

No problems going to game, as the tram starts at meadowhall & I think it will take you all the way there, but even if you change in town you should be guaranteed a seat. Coming back will be different, immediately after the final whistle you will either struggle to get on the tram or get on and find it's packed and probably not great fun for your son. Leave it 20 - 30 mins and it should be ok.
  • So is the game 100% def going to be on the Saturday if Sheffield United win?

  • Undecided on this one, can't really afford it but really fancy it. The last time I was at Hillbrough I was a steward and had the job of stopping lads peeing against a wall behind the seats! Lol at Northerners...it was seriously hard to pursuade them to put "it" away!
  • About 11 of us going up as well, will get tickets at the end of this week.
  • shame that there is not the same enthusiasm for away league games .. must be the (altogether now) MAGIC of the cup

    Vile comment.

  • You'd have to ask Chef Wendy I think about that. I think I am right, although AB will correct me I'm sure, but they set the prices although we would have some input if we thought the pricing too prohibitive. I can only assume that they think we will take thousands and that this way it somehow rewards loyal fans, ie season ticket holders. How many red card holders wouldn't know a season ticket holder who could get them one though?

Both clubs have to agree to pricing, it's still cheaper than most games even at 'full price'

They don't. The rules have changed for the FA Cup. The home club only needs the away club's agreement to charge away fans more than home fans in corresponding areas.
  • Hi OP, serious question, are there any decent hotels to stay at in Sheffield?
  • Hi OP, serious question, are there any decent hotels to stay at in Sheffield?

I stayed in the Leopold Hotel which is pretty central, and that was quite nice the last time I visited Hillsborough...

I'm staying in York for the weekend, from there I'll catch a train into Leeds Sheffield for the game!
