    Bless ye norvern folk.

Got time for these two herberts, buy if push come to shove, Give me Harry Bassett, Deane & Agana, and the greatest ever away shirt (luminous yellow) any day of the week.

I love my Sheffield. Like a greasy chip butty :-)

Got me ticket, now the logistics.
OP was it a lol because there is nowhere for a veggie in Sheffield!
...is parking near the ground realistic...if I'm there early?

  • @seth plum
parking - try around a61 (runs behind kop) & a6102 (90 degrees to kop), free and pay parking
    Food - Milestone, Kelham Island
    - Hillsborough Hotel (not in Hillsborough but near and on tram line)
neither are vegetarian but should offer something worth eating, failing that go into Sheffield
  • SR Thank you.

Actually I didn't think you was being serious with the amount of info you wanted me to answer and yeah veggie question topped it!

But I suppose you could pop in the Macdonalds and ask for a veggie burger!

As for parking, you'll find that the traffic is heavy in all directions for a while, just hang around a bit and wait for it to die down.

Will the traffic be heavier because the Mighty Charlton Athletic are in town ?

  • Where is the Bexleyheath coach pick up?

    @operationpig

  • Usually by the bottle bank
  • Usually by the bottle bank

The bottle bank is where OohAah usually meets for Millwall away.....
  • Will this be the biggest crowd that Charlton have brought up north for years? if so why? Is it because it's Wednesday?

You wish. No, it's because it's the 5th round of the cup.
  • Up North?
Anything the other side of the Thames is up north, in fact it's Scotland.

    1. It's not that big a crowd - can't be many more than we brought up in the league 1 winning season? And im sure we took similar in 3rd round in 06.

    2. We don't make the 5th round very often. We would of taken decent numbers anywhere at this stage. Probably more elsewhere actually seeing we've played you a lot lately and are back up in 2 months.

    3. Personal one for me in that I love Hillsborough. Fantastic big, traditional, old ground.

Just off to get my ticket. Will be driving from a village north of Lincoln to Sheffield Saturday morning, then driving back to London after the game. Will have car spaces after the game.
OP. I want to get there early enough to park up somewhere with a decent getaway chance after the game, and then go into Sheffield for somewhere reasonable for a (veggie.....yes I know) lunch.
Any suggestions where to park, how to get to the town centre and back (guessing Tram), and a reasonable place for lunch with a veggie choice?
    Cheers.

    Which village Mr Plum?

To be fair most clubs support when they play in London is misleading as quite a few live in and around the capital. I live near Dartford and last season Grimsby had 300+ for a midweek game in the conference. Arguably a fair %age would been local.

Notwithstanding I'm pretty impressed with our support for this game, hope it's a great game and we sing our boys to victory. Last time we played you in the cup we won convincingly. A few or your boys then took a pasting for trying it on. I can do without the bother but would like a repeat of the result!
  • What is our biggest away following north of Watford? I know we took 10,000 to Old Trafford for the D:Ream cup game. How many went to Blackburn, Forest and Boro for those big games?
