Two lads from the year above at my school had "medical appointments" on the afternoon of the FA Cup game. Unfortunately the Match of the Day cameras panned to a crowd shot in the aftermath of Kim Grant's late, spectacular consolation goal and then proceeded to zoom in on their faces as they celebrated.killerandflash said:
Ah yes, I remember organising a meeting in my company's Liverpool office, that just happened to coincide with the day of the League Cup game :-)oohaahmortimer said:1995 we played Liverpool away in the FA Cup and lost 2-1
1996 we played Liverpool away in the League Cup and lost 4-1
both of em midweek
Can't remember which one had the bigger following , was pissed in those days so the memory wasn't great0 -
Lets not get too cocky and do our bragging once a result is in the bag.
I'm hoping for an open game as a replay is no good to us1 -

Why would we be, we haven't won a League Cup.6
-
We had both tiers at Blackburn, and we took 8,000.0
-
i hope we come second in the match so that we can have a civic reception in Woolwich when the boys get back.4

Or anything since 1947.....JT said:Why would we be, we haven't won a League Cup.

Not sure why everyone is getting excited about going to the piddly little tin pot ground that is Hillsborough.
Seeing as their record attendance is only 72,841, they're not quite as massive as us.3 - Sponsored links:

Ha! True enough, but I'm with The Organiser on this. Hillsborough is so much better to visit than all the look-alike modern stadia. Proper big old-fashioned ground, and whatever you say about the Massives, they do normally more than half-fill it. Good pubs in Sheffield; natives (mostly) friendly...sad to be missing a favourite awayday this time.Addickted said:Not sure why everyone is getting excited about going to the piddly little tin pot ground that is Hillsborough.

I thought it was closer to 6k so maybe OOHaaa can step in here and give us the official figure.cafctom said:We had both tiers at Blackburn, and we took 8,000.

Your sole major trophy was in 1947, i'll be nice and let you have the 2nd tier title in 2000, the rest are just not worth mentioningCovered End said:

It was about 6,500. Our allocation was 8k. As you say, I'm sure OOhAah can give us a precise figure, along with a full breakdown of Adults, Children, Pensioners and UB40s!eaststandmike said:

Fact - both clubs achievements are in the past. I'm not sure I'd be trying to take the moral high ground mate. You've been average, for a LONG TIME.owlsonlineadmin said:

whilst looking for the numbers at blackburn came across this quote from an everton fan "only 440 of their supporters - one of the five lowest visiting attendances in Everton's Premier League history" lol0

Yes, I remember (due to problems on the M6) our coach taking a very long winded route, via the A50, A6, Matlock, Stockport and the M60...LargeAddick said:
